  9. Dean, you're correct "resist' has many inferences. As in my initial email I'll repeat, "lets not fool ourselves". This was done by the very people who have incited chaos and divisiveness in this city. Along with all the other social justice keywords the meaning "RESIST" is clear. If this was on private property using private funds that's a whole other issue, this is America. I did not get a response from city hall which is not surprising as I assume no one had a clue on what was going to be painted. Now that's an issue. I'd rather have Lou or Barb Nelson tell me 'yes I saw it and approved it' but I doubt that's the case. No scrutiny, no control and no consequence yet people wonder why Troy has taken on such a negative perception.

  11. On a lighter note maybe I'll get a crew together of actual Troy residents and we'll paint the intersection:
  12. The American Flag
  13. America (spelled correctly)
  14. Hard work + education + personal responsibility = opportunity and success.
  15. I would expect after the demonstrations stopped I would be charged with vandalizing city property. Thanks

  24. You have a point. While the word "resist" can have various connotations, it shouldn't have been included in a display on public property, especially if public money was used to fund the display. If that word was meant to convey, for instance, an anti-drug message, there were less ambiguous words to state that message.

  34. Lou, I just viewed the crosswalk painting on 101st Street and came away disappointed. I was expecting something along the same designs that were done on River and Jay Streets. Although there are designs of fish there is also the social justice key words such as "struggle". "perseverance" and others which is perfectly acceptable and some sound advice.. However there is also the word "RESIST". Now lets not fool ourselves, the same group that painted this mural is also the same group that has produced the edited anti-cop videos and have been a driving force in the divisiveness that grips this city under your watch. In a time when the police are asking for cooperation from the residents affected by the violence in that very neighborhood you have authorized the painting of "RESIST" which will give credence to the current 'snitches get stitches' attitude. I never expected to see a term like "personal responsibility" but I'm just baffled by this lack of scrutiny on the part of city hall. Thanks
