  1. As you tuck Harley in bed, she looks at you with her big yellow eyes. Out of nowhere, she began to cry again.
  2. ‘Harley. HARLEY! What’s wrong sweet heart?’ you ask, trying to comfort her.
  3. ‘Please don’t….don’t un-adopt me. I promise I will be a …*sniffle* better daughter. I don’t want to go back…’ she cries. You can’t help but to wipe a few tears from your eyes too.
  4. ‘Harley, What makes you think I’m going to un-adopt you?’ She looks at you again ‘You are a silly pony, you know that. I love you too much to give you up.’ She stops crying now. ‘Plus, even if I took you back, they won’t give me a refund.’ She laughs at this.
  5. ‘Daddy, tell me about what it was like before you came here.’
  6. ‘Well, in college I had a lot of friends. Most people, like Rainbow, were sports mad. Some were like Rarity, fashion conscious. There were even people like Pinkie Pie, jumping around a lot. But I was an English major. My friends and I started a group we did every night, where we would sit around and just write stories. We had our styles, and everyone was welcomed. We started out small, but grew within the first week.’
  7. ‘I had lots of friends when I left. Apart from Shermanator and Æther, there was Minto, who always chewed gum when on a writing streak; Yadda, who never shut up about everyone’s stories; Gadget and Tvox always had stories about futuristic lifestyles of technology.’
  8. ‘Were those their real names?’
  9. ‘No. One requirement of the group was to wear a mask and have an alias. We wanted to be judged on our works, not who we were outside of it.’
  10. ‘What was your name?’
  11. ‘It’s actually where I was known as Lokie for the first time. My stories were always a bit of a joke, and everyone loved them.’
  12. ‘Do you miss them Daddy?’
  13. ‘Yeah, but I know that they are still writing the stories that touch people’s hearts like they did for me. Now time for bed.’
  14. You turn off the lights, and head into your room. You open a large box filled with papers. Everything you have written at night when you couldn't sleep, or were troubled. It relaxed you doing something that made you feel good about yourself. You wrote about dragons, and time travel, sometimes you wrote stories about what it would be like to be living in your world with Harley. But they are just that; Stories. Someday you may pass these onto Harley, or get them published, but for now they shall sit in a box for your enjoyment.
