  37. What does each stat do?:
  38. Physical Defence: A character’s resilience, either from their physical build or inner vitality or whatever, is represented here. Used to counter all physical damage, including bullets bombs, blades, disease and radiation.
  39. Strength: Does your character even lift, bro? A measure of a character’s physical might.
  40. Agility: A combination of reflexes and athletic skill, agility is all about moving fast and not getting hit.
  41. Melee: Unlike other games, melee in FORP is not a measure of how hard you hit, but how much skill you have at hitting the right place, or parrying your opponent. Think of it as being more training than power. A sumo wrestler probably has extremely poor melee, for example.
  42. Ranged: The art of shooting guns and throwing shit. This is all ranged does… but it’ll come up a lot, so don’t skimp.
  43. Stealth: Being quiet and not being seen. Roll stealth when you’re trying to be, well, stealthy.
  44. Perception: How well you listen and look, as well as theoretically smell or taste, I suppose. A party with no good perception scores will really regret that when the deathclaw fades into view.
  45. Persuasion: Basically a measure of charisma, whether from skill with words, natural magnetism or just old-fashioned good looks. Used to persuade people.
  46. Bluff: Lying to people. A measure of how good you are at acting, or just being blankface.
  47. Intimidation: Scaring folks. From stature to just looking like you tried to eat a porcupine, how terrifying is your character?
  48. Academics: Do you know history? Or are you just generally well-versed in the world today? Either way, academics.
  49. Engineering: Fixing cars and guns and armour and buildings. Also used as the stat for operating vehicles and computers if no other stat is present.
  50. Medical: Patching people up and making them feel better. Also used for applying combat drugs.
  51. Survival: Might actually be useful. From tracking to setting traps to identifying creatures to finding food, that’s survival.
  52. Mental defence: Your mental resilience. From intelligence, willpower, or some weird factor, Mdef is used to defend against both mundane and esoteric mental attacks. Going to be less use than in Origins, I will admit.
  53. Luck: How lucky you are! Luck is weird and explained below.
  54. Unique stat: Something you can do. Also explained below.
