  1. Hi guys,
  2.
  3. I've been using the FreeBSD 11 RCs for a while now, and one thing I'm having trouble with, is making fonts smooth and anti-aliased when I'm using a window manager like i3 or window maker. I have XFCE and Mate installed for comparison, and text in Firefox and Chrome look very nice when I'm using either one of them, versus when I'm using i3 or wmaker.

  5. I've followed this guide to the letter: https://www.freebsd.org/doc/handbook/x-fonts.html, and in all cases, I have compton running in the background.
  6.
  7. What is the magic to making fonts smooth in older window managers that aren't using gnome or kde?
