  1. >Any sources other than Breitbart?
  2.
  3. Yes.
  4.
  5. https://www.yahoo.com/news/austrian-presidential-election-too-close-call-151316172.html
  6.
  7. And about Article 7 TEU:
  8.
  9. http://ec.europa.eu/justice/effective-justice/rule-of-law/index_en.htm
  10.
  11. "Article 7 TEU provides for special mechanisms with far-reaching sanctions in case a Member State does not respect the fundamental values referred to in Article 2 TEU, including the rule of law."
  12.
  13. If you are debating with others about this, make sure you highlight how Article 7 TEU is completely open to interpretation by whoever decides to invoke it.
  14.
  15.
  16. >Why do you complain about these people in the EU trying to stop you from voting when you are all Fascists who want to exterminate non-whites
  17.
  18. Not everyone on /pol/ agrees with this sentiment. Most of us want to live in a Europe that belongs to Europeans.
  19.
  20. We don't care about what happens in Africa, the Middle East or Asia. We care about our Fatherland. Either our home countries or Europe as a whole.
  21.
  22. Furthermore, the term 'far-right' can be redefined to mean anything those in power wish. By allowing them the ability to decide who does, and who does not get elected, we open the way for a one-party state that will inevitably be run by those running the EU.
  23.
  24.
  25. >Do you seriously believe that you are part of an innocent liberal movement that wants freedom of speech/opinion.
  26.
  27. Most people on /pol/ will resent being called a Liberal, but this is not about who is Liberal and who is Conservative. It is not about who is Left and who is Right. It is about us versus them.
  28.
  29. Right now those running the EU are former Marxists whose only concern is creating a European federal state filled with races from all over the world. In their ideal Europe, our nations would not exist, and we would be minorities in our own homeland.
  30.
  31. This cannot be allowed to happen.
  32.
  33.
  34. >The EU is right to prevent Fascism from taking place in Europe
  35.
  36. Fascism is half nationalism, and half totalitarianism.
  37.
  38. What is Totalitarianism?
  39.
  40. "Totalitarian regimes stay in political power through an all-encompassing propaganda campaign, which is disseminated through the state-controlled mass media, a single party that is often marked by political repression, personality cultism, control over the economy, regulation and restriction of speech, mass surveillance, and widespread use of terror."
  41.
  42. Let's measure the EU against this:
  43.
  44. All-Encompassing Propaganda Campaign through state control of mass media?
  45.
  46. Check. The EU directly funds most media organisations in Europe, the most well-known among English-speakers being the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).
  47.
  48. A Single Party marked by political repression?
  49.
  50. Preventing 'far-right' (Note: This can be redefined to mean anything from Fascist to Social Conservative) from getting into power despite winning a legitimate election. Check.
  51.
  52. Personality Cultism?
  53.
  54. Not check. The EU works best if we do not know who runs it.
  55.
  56. Control over the Economy?
  57.
  58. Check. Look at the recent Recession and how it was handled by the EU.
  59.
  60. Regulation and Restriction of Free Speech?
  61.
  62. Check. Numerous 'hate speech' laws which can be conveniently redefined by the Government to mean whatever they want. Up to 5 years in prison for violating these laws in Germany. How long before this is common in every European country?
  63.
  64. Mass Surveillance?
  65.
  66. Check. GCHQ and German Intelligence regularly spy on their own civilians and what they do/say on the internet. Other European nations likely follow suit.
  67.
  68. Widespread use of terror?
  69.
  70. Not yet.
  71.
  72. The EU only misses the Nationalism trait of Fascism, as such it can perhaps be more closely aligned with Communism and its Totalitarian system.
  73.
  74. If you are so against Fascism you should realise that the EU is half-Fascistic.
  75.
  76.
  77. >The EU is about Economics, not Politics
  78.
  79. This is how it started, but their actions are speaking louder than their words.
  80.
  81. Involving themselves in the Domestic Politics of EU nations is completely unacceptable and must be stopped, regardless of the justification they use to involve themselves.
  82.
  83.
  84. >The EU cannot sanction a country unless all member states agree
  85.
  86. This is completely true and no one is debating it.
  87.
  88. Our concern is thus:
  89.
  90. Economic Blackmail.
  91.
  92. Those watching the Brexit Referendum in the UK realise what an impact Economic Blackmail can make on the normal people.
  93.
  94. Let's face it; the average person gets all of their news from the media. If this media is then funded by the EU and the Government of a country which is pro-EU, it should not be any surprise that it exclusively shows a pro-EU agenda.
  95.
  96. How is this bad?
  97.
  98. People make decisions based on the facts available to them. If they are bombarded with pro-EU propaganda 24/7 they will eventually believe what they are told.
  99.
  100. In the case of the Brexit Referendum voters are being told that Britain will fall into an economic blackhole if they leave. Should it be any surprise that the average person is swayed by this argument when every major news sources repeats it?
  101.
  102.
  103. >Can't the European Parliament block this?
  104.
  105. The European Parliament can neither propose or block laws made by the EU. It's purpose is to give us the impression of Democracy. The important members of the EU such as its President are elected by the EU Council, which itself is the Head of States/Governments of EU nations.
  106.
  107. If the EU blocks any parties that it does not like from getting into power, then we will only ever see pro-EU members on the EU Council.
  108.
  109. These members will then inevitably vote for a President who promises to keep their opponents out of power.
  110.
  111.
  112. >The EU is necessary to keep the peace in Europe
  113.
  114. The oft told lie we are fed is that the EU has prevented war in Europe. This is rubbish.
  115.
  116. NATO has prevented war in Europe. If anything the EU has provoked it by imposing Carthaginian economic settlements on Southern European nations, and through this most recent action of preventing 'far-right' parties from achieving power.
  117.
  118.
  119. >We won't get put in prison for saying the wrong things, the world has moved on from this
  120.
  121. Hate speech has been redefined too many times to count. It's a dangerous law, and it directly infringes of freedom of speech.
  122.
  123. Believing that the world has 'moved on' is the best way to ensure it happens again.
  124.
  125. These laws shouldn't exist because they deliberately limit freedom of speech. And the biggest problem of them is that they are completely open to interpretation by the Government and they can redefine it anytime they want.
  126.
  127.
  128. >If you've broken these laws then you've over-stepped your freedom of speech.
  129.
  130. Freedom of Speech is the liberty to say whatever you want. Those that propose limiting Freedom of Speech and allow the Government to decide when and where to limit it are opening their country to tyranny and totalitarianism.
  131.
  132.
  133. >As if the EU would want to take over and create a dictatorship. We have politicians and an army to prevent such blatant incident.
  134.
  135. The EU has politicians and soon it will have an army as well.
  136.
  137. The EU is run by people who have no allegiance to their home countries and no allegiance to Europe. They only care about pursuing their goal of a unified Europe filled with races from around the world.
  138.
  139. If we don't stop it now it will be too late by the time people realise what's happening.
