  2. Narrator has connected.
  3. Actinidia has connected.
  4. Actinidia: In
  5. Narrator: Hallo. Still no Grace or Avara.
  6. DNA: Grace needs a network to join with you.
  7. DNA: She doesn't remember which one she was in before.
  8. Narrator: Tell her to join
  9. Narrator: The Family of Kings
  10. Narrator: no password
  11. DNA: Done-zo
  12. Narrator: Thank you
  13. Narrator: I'm just making tokens.
  14. DNA: Also Ava is going to be a little late because of birthday stuff, so we were told.
  15. Narrator: Gotcha. Just making tokens until, y'know, we have 3/4 party members.
  16. Narrator: Unless we want to start with 1/2 the party.
  17. Narrator: We can. The world won't change.
  18. Narrator: I just feel like a dick if we do. So I'm not forcing it.
  19. Actinidia: I'd rather wait for 3/4
  20. Narrator: omfg, I almost typed Darkeon.
  21. Narrator: I'm such a goddamn moron.
  22. DNA: ayy
  23. Actinidia: Edgeon
  24. DNA: And yeah, I'm just fine with waiting. It'd be better that way. Also would make more sense.
  25. Narrator: It's probably pirates.
  26. Narrator: .........
  27. Narrator: It's not Nympheon is it?
  28. DNA: What isn't?
  29. Narrator: ...Nympheon? I get the feeling it's wrong.
  30. Narrator: Eevee Fairy evolution.
  31. Narrator: Considering you aren't surprised by this, I guess I'm just being silly.
  32. DNA: The Japanese name is Nympheon, yes.
  33. DNA: Or Nymphia, technically
  34. Narrator: Nymphia is so pretty.
  35. DNA: Reminds me of the time I thought I pissed off a black guy
  36. Narrator: I - wh - HOW?!
  37. DNA: so I was at a...I think States
  38. DNA: I was talking with my friend about how the Japanese names were different for them
  39. DNA: Showers, Thunders, Booster, Eyfie, Blacky...
  40. DNA: I got to Umbreon's and this big black guy pops in to the conversation and goes "What!? Blacky!?"
  41. DNA: My friend and I are frozen for 2 whole sections because he looked mad
  42. DNA: seconds
  43. DNA: In reality he was taking the piss out of us and started laughing
  44. DNA: We had a good time talking with him after that.
  45. Narrator: Pfft, noice.
  46. Narrator: So, unrelated, Grace joined the network like 12 minutes ago.
  47. Narrator: Oh gawd, I dropped 28 tokens at once. I can't see shit.
  48. Narrator: Should I just go back to sleep?
  49. Actinidia: Grace is going to be downloading Java to see if that's what's wrong.
  50. Actinidia: She's trying to get it to work, but something's not working exactly right.
  51. Actinidia: beb
  52. Actinidia: brb
  53. Actinidia is disconnected.
  54. Actinidia has connected.
  55. Grace has connected.
  56. Actinidia: Hello!
  57. DNA: dat Grace
  58. Narrator: Grace, when you fully enter, say something, 'kay?
  59. Grace: OKAY I'm In I think.
  60. Grace: Sorry sorry
  61. Actinidia: wiggledance!
  62. DNA: That reminds me, I think Grace had her token permissions set to 'Grace Leonhardt'
  63. Narrator: Yay. I may be engaged now.
  64. Grace: I didn't hear a thing, and It's still loading the BM001 map.
  65. DNA: So you might have to pop out and back in again. Also what?
  66. Narrator: The battlemap.
  67. Narrator: It's still loading for her.
  68. Narrator: I can just add GRACE to her permissions.
  69. DNA: No I meant the engaged statement
  70. Narrator: I was falling asleep.
  71. Narrator: Y'know. Sitting here for an hour.
  72. DNA: Ah, okay. that's what I thought you meant.
  73. DNA: The word 'engage' has a lot of different meanings so I wanted to be sure of context.
  74. Narrator: It's a commonly used word when talking about falling asleep due to inactivity at my job.
  75. Narrator: That's my fault. I apologize.
  76. DNA: It's fine; don't worry.
  77. Grace: OKAY I'm back and hit with a sh*tton of pings
  78. Actinidia: are you READY!?
  79. Avara has connected.
  80. Grace: Ye, Just need to find the action thing again
  81. Actinidia: HOLOY COW
  82. Narrator: Hm?
  83. Avara: hoi
  84. Actinidia: Ava
  85. Grace: How do I get the actions menus again?
  86. Actinidia: we're all here
  87. Actinidia: Window > Campaign
  88. Actinidia: You'll also want Window > Initiative
  89. Grace: Heyo
  90. Grace: Oop, there we go Danke!
  91. Avara: i said i'd be late, not absent.
  92. Actinidia: Yeah, it was just good timing so I was happy
  93. Avara: that said, my map is stuck at 92/94 on bm001 so i won't be able to do much there yet
  94. Grace: Ayyy, I wasn't being a POS and stalling everything! Yaaay
  95. Avara: map is done
  96. Grace: NOice
  97. Narrator: Yay. I was prettying a map.
  98. Narrator: Was looking for tree's.
  99. Grace: Tis a noice map
  100. Narrator: ....ohshit you guys can see me as I makei t.
  101. Narrator: Oh phew, the tokens are hidden.
  102. DNA: as you make wh-my that's a lot of red question marks over a nice green lawn
  103. Avara: dna needs to reload i think
  104. Avara: i see it fine
  105. Grace: I see map, the questions and such are gone.
  106. Narrator: It's just loading sounds like, for dna.
  107. Narrator: Red questionmarks are loading symbols. Red x's are legit issues.
  108. Avara: ah
  109. Narrator: Alright. Next encounter area speedily done.
  110. Narrator: o7
  111. * Avara hugs everyone
  112. Grace: How do you do colored text btw? I've been puting off about asking about that for way too long.
  113. * Grace test
  114. Grace: okay cool that still works.
  115. Narrator: See the area you type in?
  116. Grace: And I'm an idiot.
  117. Narrator: And a colored box next to it?
  118. Avara: there's a black box next to the smiley face in the corner. clicky.
  119. Grace: Well, hopefully you'll forgive me because the last computer I was on, EVERYTHING in this program was like... super tiny.
  120. Narrator: You're not an idiot. You're just not yet proficient with maptools. That takes time.
  121. Avara: what kao said. everyone takes time to learn.
  122. Narrator: We've been using this thing for like, 5 to 6 years now.
  123. Avara: i've actually been using it longer than that. and there's still stuff i don't know.
  124. Grace: I'll take it then. And this game is my first exposure to the medium.
  125. Narrator: We were n00bs when we first used it.
  126. Narrator: Prior to this, my group was using OpenRPG.
  127. Narrator: I do not miss those days.
  128. Grace: Fair enough.
  129. Narrator: _ We didn't have macros.
  130. Narrator: >_> omfg combat took so long.
  131. Grace: rip
  132. Narrator: ohgood, the log loaded.
  133. Actinidia Preston: Wow, the game was loading for me
  134. Actinidia Preston: back now
  135. Narrator: Now I can see where we were.
  136. Narrator: Hi Actirob
  137. Grace: wb
  138. Actinidia Preston: hooooly crap, lots of stuff
  139. Grace: I found out colors! :D
  140. Narrator: Oh. Right.
  141. Narrator: Leveling up.
  142. Narrator: Do people need to update tokens?
  143. DNA: Yeah, it was just loading. I'm fine now. And we're all level 3.
  144. DNA: I updated my token so I should be okay.
  145. DNA: ...I'm kinda glad I didn't miss anything yet; I was in the process of consoling somebody
  146. Narrator: Note to self:
  147. subtract 100 experience points from todays session.
  148. Avara: oh. gotta do that. yas.
  149. DNA: AH, yes of course
  150. Avara: i am in a good mood after birthday dinner. :3
  151. Grace: Congrats!
  152. Avara: we had ribs and corn and potatos. and PIE.
  153. DNA: what kind of pie
  154. Avara: one chocolate, one peach, and one lemon cream.
  155. Grace: Noice
  156. Avara: pie instead of cake.
  157. Narrator: I am biased and thus do not approve of any of those pies.
  158. Avara: that's okay.
  159. Avara: you get hugs instead.
  160. * Avara hugs kao
  161. DNA: The lemon cream pie is okay. I'm more of a berry pie person, myself.
  162. Narrator: I had someone explain to me that berries aren't fruit.
  163. Grace: I'm more of a chocolate and/or Pecan person. Though I'd much prefer red velvet. That is somethat that I will always go for if available.
  164. Narrator: I know I knew this. I just don't think I honestly cared.
  165. Actinidia: leveled up.
  166. Narrator: Red...velvet...pie?
  167. Narrator: Fuck. I'm old now.
  168. DNA: Red velvet pie is a thing!?
  169. Narrator: I think I've officially begun the descent of hating sugar.
  170. Grace: NO I mean red velvet cake
  171. Etna: Etna loses 0 resilience.
  172. DNA: ohhhhhhhh
  173. Grace: Probably shoulda made that cleaerer
  174. Narrator: Because all these pies just scream sugar to me. And it turns me off.
  175. DNA: oh I knew about that
  176. Grace: THough I'd totally try a red velvet pie.
  177. DNA: I dislike sugar, but for a different reason
  178. DNA: Empty calories from sugar put me to sleep, REALLY fast.
  179. Narrator: Grace, are you lv3?
  180. Grace: I've got a sweettooth that could give diabetes.
  181. Avara: etna token in PCs storage map is updated now.
  182. Narrator: c/p onto BM001 plz
  183. Avara: is done
  184. Narrator: Alright. So everyone is leveled up. Except perhaps Grace?
  185. Grace: Workin' on it!
  186. Narrator: Okay. Let me know when you're done.
  187. Grace: Okay I"m good
  188. Narrator: 'kay. Sec
  189. Grace: I got focus blast, because I remember someone pushing for that when I was contemplating on the move build
  190. Actinidia: I don't think we get a move this level
  191. Actinidia: Unless you have a specialization like me
  192. Grace: We get one on level 3?
  193. Actinidia: No
  194. Grace: New talent, ability, and prof?
  195. Actinidia: 2 and 4, but not 3.
  196. Actinidia: Yeps. Talent, ability and proficiency.
  197. Grace: Ah, nvm I've messed up. ;-;
  198. Uraruren: Don't forget your stat increase and focus for this level.
  199. * Avara pets ura.
  200. Actinidia: 6+5+1+6=18
  201. Grace: That I managed to remember and not mess up.
  202. Narrator: Notes added to Uraruren so I won't be flipping between this and the pdf constantly.
  203. Narrator: Your talent can be a specialization if you meet the prerequisites of one.
  204. Narrator: Or a regular talent.
  205. Actinidia: You probably want a specialization, they're powerful
  206. DNA: I went for a specialization too!
  207. Uraruren: is a Sweeper. But is not a permanent party member.
  208. Uraruren: I think.
  209. DNA: Not as far as you know anyway. Heheheheheh.
  210. Grace: Oh! That's right, I remember I said I was going to be a mixed sweeper.
  211. Narrator: While waiting
  212. ohshit I found a female cover of Land of Confusion. It's...friggin' amazing.
  213. Actinidia: Nice
  214. Narrator: Okay, are you 100% Grace?
  215. Narrator: Dun wanna start until we're 100%.
  216. Grace: I'm sorry! Yeah we can go, I'm just picking ability and prficiency. I'm seriously sorry tho! I've had computer issues for a little over a week, and I just managed to get a new one and I haven't had time to fix up grace to lvl 3 ;-;
  217. Narrator: Got it.
  218. Avara: No worries, grace. we're not upset.
  219. Avara: things happen.
  220. Grace: So yeah let's go, I'm just doing the small stuff rn.
  221. July 26th, Monday.
  222. 72 degrees F and it feels nice. Wind speeds have decreased to 12 mph. and it is sunny.
  223. It is 12:05 pm
  224. Actinidia, Etna, Grace and Pierce had recently underwent dramatic change and became Pokémon. Actinidia, the Grass-Type Snivy. Etna, the Ice and Rock-Type Amaura. Grace, the Fighting-Type Riolu. Pierce, the Steel and Rock-Type Aron. They have acquired a once Wolf-Spider companion by the name of Uraruren, currently a Bug and Poison-Type Spinarak.
  225. Actinidia: Praise the Sun!
  226. DNA: Praise the Sun!
  227. After meeting Actinidia's two sons and setting forth a plan for the snake gang to work on while the team leaves on a supplies run, they arrive at the new and improved Radegonda settlement, where they met an ambitious Chimchar named Amarant.
  228. Radegonda: "There should be a supermarket and office depot not too far from here." Radegonda said pointing to the east with her wing and then tilting her head.
  229. DNA: Home Depot
  230. Radegonda: "Considering I can fly and, uh, had a car in my previous life, I'm not actually certain how long it will take on foot."
  231. Radegonda: (( Yes, that. ))
  232. Actinidia: "How many miles?"
  233. * Grace Leonhardt will nod her head. "The directions are fine enough as is! Leave the walkin' to us."
  234. Radegonda: "I never calculated things by miles. I want to say it'd take about 5 minutes by car?"
  235. Amarant Grimsley: "At a good pace, that's about 35 minutes on foot." Amarant Grimsley said matter-of-factly.
  236. Actinidia: "Perfect."
  237. Pierce Mars Oswell: "Thirty-five doesn't sound too bad."
  238. Radegonda: "You...must walk fast or something." Radegonda said tilting her head.
  239. Amarant Grimsley: "My feet were made for walking." Amarant Grimsley chuckled, "I've never owned a car, personally. Public transit or walking. The idea of a 2 or more mile walk damn near scared people half to death. It was a sad thing to witness."
  240. Amarant Grimsley: "Though, considering the state of things, you'll be surprised what remains intact in malls and shops."
  241. Actinidia: "A lot or very little?"
  242. Radegonda: "After our last conversation, you weren't that hopeful of many human-changed-Pokémon surviving beyond the first week."
  243. Amarant Grimsley: "In my experience, malls were hit the hardest. Probably due to their popularity among the more resourceful humans - or because they contained video game stores." Amarant Grimsley shrugs, "But places like megacenters or convenience stores were nearly untouched , as I saw on my way here. It's how we survived so well."
  244. Pierce Mars Oswell: "That's odd. Why would those places not be really targeted?"
  245. Amarant Grimsley: "As non-humans become more and more scarce, I think those places will just end up abandoned." Amarant Grimsley said gravely, "Creatures that weren't human never had any need of things like that. They've survived the harsh truths of life and this is hardly any different."
  246. Grace Leonhardt: Grimacing, "That's... a rather grim way to see things..."
  247. Pierce Mars Oswell: "...Oh. Yeah, that's fair. I...hadn't really thought about that." He looks down at the ground for a moment.
  248. Etna: "Basically... former humans are dying out. Lack of survival skills, or just being ambushed by better survivors and such."
  249. Etna: "So the malls were hit in the first couple of days, but since then... humans haven't held out very well."
  250. Grace Leonhardt: She'll blink a few times before a shiver runs up her spine. "I... honestly don't know how far I'd get if it was just me though... That's a really scary thought."
  251. Amarant Grimsley: "We're not the smartest things on earth anymore. Our edge is gone and the order of things have been changed. We need to adapt to keep our numbers strong. If we don't murder each other first." Amarant Grimsley said, clenching his fist.
  252. Radegonda: "It's honestly become hard to tell human and non-human Pokémon apart lately." Radegonda said rubbing her chin, "...Or maybe it's just my imagination."
  253. Etna: "Born pokemon seem to inherit some memories from their parents. Not always the context or information behind the memories, though."
  254. Actinidia: "There are four groups, from what I can tell. Possibly five. Former humans. Former humans who know how the pokemon games worked. Pets of humans who know how humans work. Animals. And pokemon who have been born since this whole event started."
  255. Radegonda: "Things are being born already?"
  256. Etna: "That might be a factor. That and animals-turned-pokemon being able to make sense of old memories now."
  257. Actinidia: "Generations already yes. Pokemon are born talking."
  258. Etna: "Yes. Eggs happen within a day or two of intercourse, and can hatch very shortly after. Within a day, at times."
  259. Actinidia: "And who knows how quickly those can breed."
  260. Pierce Mars Oswell: "Yeah there's...very little turnover. That's part of why the snake den was so huge, actually. One of them 'got around' so to speak."
  261. Amarant Grimsley: "If the games are anything to go by, probably a day at most."
  262. Grace Leonhardt: "Well... there might be another group. Once humans that had offspring." She'll say looking over to act.
  263. Etna: "That's what I was indicating, yes. Born Pokemon are inheriting memories, from animals and from humans.
  264. Etna: "
  265. Uraruren: "Eh, about half a day." Uraruren says shrugging, "It's more about need than anything. I think."
  266. Uraruren: "You all aren't attractive to me."
  267. DNA: Ura lost her picture! NOOOOOOOOOOOO
  268. Amarant Grimsley: "...We're also not your egg group."
  269. Amarant Grimsley: (( Different map. ))
  270. DNA: ah
  271. Pierce Mars Oswell: "Wait, that reminds me. ...If people were related by blood before, then what they are now is apparently random."
  272. Pierce Mars Oswell: "I'm...not sure what that portends, but...it's probably something to be aware of."
  273. Amarant Grimsley: "The terrifying thought actually is doing combat with legendary Pokémon."
  274. Radegonda: Radegonda scoffs, "You've hardly needed my help around here."
  275. * Pierce Mars Oswell looks up towards Radegonda, but...says nothing.
  276. Amarant Grimsley: Amarant Grimsley raised an eyebrow to Radegonda clearing his throat, "I've noticed a bit of trend. Legendary Pokémon seem to have absolutely no knowledge of Pokémon. At all."
  277. Amarant Grimsley: "I've encountered a Mewtwo that, thankfully, didn't actually know what he was."
  278. Etna: "I'm not entirely sure about that. Arceus seemed well aware."
  279. Grace Leonhardt: "You've met others? A Mewtwo? Oh jeez..."
  280. Actinidia: "Arceus knew a lot about pokemon, and was trying to unite other legendary pokemon."
  281. Amarant Grimsley: "I've met a few. They seem to roam." Amarant Grimsley shrugs, "I've battled a Virizion. Despite the clear advantage it had over me, it retreated. Probably due to my fire attacks."
  282. Pierce Mars Oswell: "Not exactly. Arceus knew what he was, but not necessarily about Pokemon themselves."
  283. Pierce Mars Oswell: "He just caught on pretty quickly to how much ability he possessed."
  284. Amarant Grimsley: "Well, now that I think of it..." Amarant Grimsley said tilting his head back, "I haven't met any world changing legendaries."
  285. Grace Leonhardt: "Well, he's pretty much the poke equivilent of god, so who the heck knows besides him on what he can learn?"
  286. Amarant Grimsley: "Even Doctor R here isn't an all powerful or world bending legendary Pokémon. Just a pretty darn powerful one."
  287. Amarant Grimsley: "The legendaries of creation might be a different story." Amarant Grimsley shrugs, "Let's hope not at least."
  288. Amarant Grimsley: "But the less potent legendaries I've met semed entirely lost on what was going on, what they were and the simple things like type coverage."
  289. Amarant Grimsley: "While this bodes well for the weaker Pokémon like us, it also makes them all the more dangerous. Like I said, they roam."
  290. Amarant Grimsley: "They're strong and they know at least that much. So they're not prone to hiding, as they don't need to, and god forbid they acquire a following."
  291. Etna: "I think that's exactly what god wants," Etna mumbles with some humor.
  292. Amarant Grimsley: "My advice is, if you encounter one, flee. If you have to do battle with one, for whatever reason, be sure you fight to kill. Restraint isn't exactly as luxury out there."
  293. Radegonda: "You're not kidding." Radegonda chuckled.
  294. Actinidia: "With any luck, this is more like the game than the comics or show. Where we can actually compete with the legendary pokemon in large numbers." Actinidia paced, "And another question, if there are 'levels' of power like the games, and whether or not legendary pokemon just start higher."
  295. Grace Leonhardt: "Hmmmm... That's something to keep in mind. Ms. Rade? If someone were to stumble into a fight with you would you go all out? And would you let them go if they try to haul arse away? Just asking as a frame of refference... considering you're a legendary too."
  296. Radegonda: "Depends on the cause. I'm not exactly a roaming legendary. I've had every desire to stay exactly where I currently am. But if threatened or someone invading my home? I'd breath fire to kill." Radegonda paused, "...In fact, I've always done that now that I think about it. Holding back didn't even occur to me."
  297. Grace Leonhardt: Scratching behind her ear, she'll tilt her head side to side. "Fairly noted. Is that what the scorch marks outside were...?"
  298. Amarant Grimsley: "I'm not certain if levels exist for us. But I've noticed that Rare Candy exists. I've not had the chance to taste one, but I recognize that stupid candy."
  299. Pierce Mars Oswell: "...pretty sure, Grace."
  300. Actinidia: "I would like to try one."
  301. Radegonda: "Hm? Oh no, I haven't had the opportunity to engage in combat since Amarant arrived. He's fought everything around us on his own." Radegonda stretched, "It's been real nice."
  302. Amarant Grimsley: "Well, one of the scorch marks is when you doused me in flames when we first met." Amarant Grimsley smothed his fur back on his head, "And I'd probably be dead if not for my special ability."
  303. Grace Leonhardt: "Second that. What the heck does leveling taste like? And... in hindsight, that's a fair point. Someone in your shoes... uh... feet? Whatever. Someone in your position probably would leave a crater with fire..."
  304. Radegonda: Radegonda frowns, "Yes. Immunity to my flames is not what I was expecting. But it worked out for us, right?"
  305. Actinidia: "Hm... I have an idea. Since we all fight alongside each other, my allies and I should keep track of when we learn new moves. If we all learn moves at the same time we might be "leveling up" together."
  306. Grace Leonhardt: "That's... actually something good to note. Do we actually level?"
  307. Etna: "Maybe. We'll have to see about it. Evolving might be a factor to track, too."
  308. Actinidia: "But we all evolve at different levels in the games, so that's harder to compare."
  309. Grace Leonhardt: "Oh! Yeah that too. Though I think mine's in the air? I think Riolu evolved from friendship if memeory serves me right."
  310. Pierce Mars Oswell: "Friendship with who?"
  311. Etna: "If it's the same as the game, yeah."
  312. Actinidia: "Her trainer?"
  313. Etna: "Some pokemon evolve when they have a strong bond with their trainer. Or, perhaps team in this case."
  314. Pierce Mars Oswell: "A strong bond, huh..."
  315. Amarant Grimsley: Amarant Grimsley laughs loudly, "No, I don't think you have to worry about that. I've seen Pikachu around already."
  316. Grace Leonhardt: "Yeah. Usually the best is to stuff boosts and treats down their gullet, walking around, and leveling. Though I have no flying idea about it being real though."
  317. Kallee Grimsley: Kallee Grimsley slithers up beside Amarant and gently nuzzles his cheek, "I think Elegia is hungry. And I dont' have hands..."
  318. Etna: "Alright. So we're definitely not using standard evolution rules, then."
  319. Actinidia: Actinidia looked to the sun, "We should start moving soon."
  320. Amarant Grimsley: "I got it." Amarant Grimsley said nodding to Kallee and turned back to your group, "You all are diverse, like I said, so your chances of survival are higher than normal."
  321. Actinidia: Actinidia enters Healing Mode!
  322. Amarant Grimsley: "But, beware of a few things. One, nothing you do is unique. If you have an idea, know that someone else out there has the same idea. And may have had it before you. So when enacting your idea, be sure to be cautious about it."
  323. Actinidia: "Hm, that was an interesting sensation."
  324. Amarant Grimsley: "For example, your supply run."
  325. Pierce Mars Oswell: "What was, Act?"
  326. Actinidia: "I felt like I could empower my healing, and I did. I... think I'm a stronger healer now."
  327. Pierce Mars Oswell: "Maybe it has to do with your niche?"
  328. Actinidia: Actinidia nodded.
  329. Amarant Grimsley: "Two, the composition of the hunt." Amarant Grimsley rubs his chin when he began this one, "Creatures have a tendency to move together or form groups out of a few things. Complete strangers will generally follow the biggest and strongest, if allowed or will stay with others of their own kind. Rarely, though, they'll stay with their own type. That last one is the one you really want to worry about. They know what they're doing and do it well. I have no idea who they are or what they were before, but they're meticulous about things."
  330. Pierce Mars Oswell: "I wonder, if I have something like that as well. Do I have a niche?"
  331. * Etna is quietly paying attention to the lecture.
  332. Amarant Grimsley: "And lastly, three. The people out there like me." Amarant Grimsley said firmly, "And I don't mean the people like the Rices. They're good people, mind."
  333. Amarant Grimsley: "I have a child. Not a Pokémon child, but a human child. Who's still human. And I'd do anything for her." Amarant Grimsley motioned to the house where his daughter was, and where Kallee was slithering back to, "The scorch marks are out there because I tolerate infiltration a lot less than Doctor R does. When I travel with my family I assume everyone everywhere is out to get me and I do not let people approach us."
  334. Amarant Grimsley: "The Rices and I spoke at length about this and there's a clear difference between our approach to survival and protection. Considering how highly they spoke of you guys I'm liable to think you're more like them."
  335. Actinidia: "We found them quickly, and helped them out. That must have been a good first impression when it comes to how to approach strangers."
  336. Amarant Grimsley: "Trying to win over people and form settlements is great. But it's dangerous and with what I'm trying to protect there's a lot of risks I'm not willing to take with strangers."
  337. Amarant Grimsley: "And going back to my first point, that merely means I'm hardly the only one doing it. You might find yourself at odds with a Pokémon fighting you desperately who isn't going to or try to listen to anything you have to say."
  338. Amarant Grimsley: "There's no advice I can give you there. Maybe there isn't at all, but it's best to recognize the stuff out on the field."
  339. Actinidia: "Thank you."
  340. Amarant Grimsley: "If I'm still here when you come back, if you come back, tell me anything you learn. While I traveled a lot, that hardly means I've learned all there is to know. And right now, knowledge, is the real power."
  341. Grace Leonhardt: "That's... fair enough in all honesty."
  342. Etna: "I appreciate your position, and respect your choice of priorities. Mostly we're doing what we're doing because we don't want people to need that mindset, but as it is, it's unavoidable."
  343. Amarant Grimsley: "You've got your work cut out for you then." Amarant Grimsley waved dismissively, "But I'm going to go feed my daughter. Remember what I said."
  344. Etna: "We will. Good luck."
  345. Actinidia: "Did you want a translation, to speak with your daughter?"
  346. Actinidia: "Translator, I mean."
  347. Actinidia: "Before we leave."
  348. Amarant Grimsley: "No. Not right now." Amarant Grimsley said as he started walking to the house, "We've dealt this long without it. I don't think learning who we are right now would help."
  349. Actinidia: "Very well."
  350. Grace Leonhardt: "We appreciate what you said."
  351. Narrator: Alright. Just let me know when you guys are doing a thing.
  352. Actinidia: I think it's time to head out
  353. Grace Leonhardt: Yup.
  354. Pierce Mars Oswell: Agreed. But first, Mars enters Wall Mode!
  355. * Etna is ready to GTFO.
  356. Grace Leonhardt: If we're entering modes, Grace'll go sweeper mode
  357. * Etna doesn't have a mode to enter. She just always gets a bonus to base power for some techniques.
  358. Actinidia: We're walking to the home depot
  359. Avara: i could have sworn we were going for food first.
  360. Actinidia: I misunderstood that then, I thought that was on the way back.
  361. Avara: pros/cons for each?
  362. DNA: Whichever one is closer I believe we wanted to hit first?
  363. Actinidia: home depot will probably have a higher variety of things we want, which makes going there quicker might give us a higher chance of getting there first (if that). Grocery second means food will be fresher or still refridgerated when we succeed in bringing it back. These are just small nudges toward my choice, but either one works.
  364. Avara: i'm fine with going to home depot first, just want you to think it out. food is in higher demand, so it might be gone when we get there if second. and we can use ice chests or similar to maintain freshness.
  365. Grace: Yeah, I agree with that one Avara. That and there's probably less looting at a home depo, beyond maybe a thing or two setting up a home there.
  366. DNA: ha, home
  367. DNA: ...I'm sorry, that was bad of me. Please, continue.
  368. DNA: I don't have a strong preference as to which we hit first, I'll go with whatever decision you think is wiser. So far that appears to be the food.
  369. * Avara awaits response from rob for the counterpoints to going to home depot first.
  370. Actinidia: Food being important is also a good point.
  371. Actinidia: So that might be the best idea. To prioritize foodspace as well.
  372. Avara: *nod*
  373. Avara: alright. let's go shopping!
  374. Narrator: So, the supermarket first?
  375. Avara: yes
  376. Actinidia: Yes please
  377. Grace: Alrighty I suppose.
  378. DNA: Away!
  379. Narrator: And going by Etna's speed so...
  380. Avara: brb/afk.
  381. Narrator: You guys don't encounter anything until roughly 45 minutes later. You're nearing the shopping district just beyond the residential area. But first, you must make it through the park.
  382. It is 1:05 pm.
  383. Actinidia: Hearing check~
  384. Actinidia: 4+4+2+3=13
  385. Pierce Mars Oswell: Perception (Smelling)
  386. Actinidia: Actinidia listens out, since the light of sight is now obscured. Using The Upper Hand stunt.
  387. Pierce Mars Oswell: 6+4+5+5=20
  388. DNA: Ayy so close to stunting
  389. Grace Leonhardt: Grace is going to just try and spot anything off.
  390. Grace Leonhardt: 1+3+2+2=8
  391. DNA: If you line our dice up, you get 1 of each number
  392. Avara: back.
  393. Etna: 2+2+5+0=9
  394. * Etna is not the most perceptive person around.
  395. Actinidia: "I hear heavy movement to the east. Can you see anything?"
  396. Narrator whispers: You can smell a few, probably three or so, metallic Pokémon like yourself in the area.
  397. * Grace Leonhardt is there with you.
  398. Pierce Mars Oswell: "...I smell metal. About 3 of them."
  399. Grace Leonhardt: Grace will simply shake her head. "No...? It just looks rather peaceful...?"
  400. * Etna considers what Act and Pierce are saying.
  401. Etna: "I can't get a feel for anything right now. But if we're looking at metal, I should stay back a bit."
  402. Grace Leonhardt: "I'll default to you guys honestly. I might be missing something..."
  403. Actinidia: "... I think I can see something" Actinidia crept through the grass.
  404. Actinidia: Stealth
  405. Actinidia: 3+4+6+2=15
  406. * Pierce Mars Oswell follows Act quietly, also Stealthing.
  407. Pierce Mars Oswell: 6+1+5+7=19
  408. Actinidia: "... should we approach or go around?"
  409. Etna: "At the moment I don't see any reason -not- to go around."
  410. Avara: ... oh. you might have been whispering to each other that.
  411. Avara: 'cause sneaking.
  412. Avara: if so, please say so.
  413. Actinidia: Sorry, yes, whispering
  414. Avara: then etna didn't answer.
  415. Pierce Mars Oswell: "I'm thinking go around, just to be safe. Etna is ill-suited for this."
  416. Actinidia: "Lets sneak back."
  417. * Pierce Mars Oswell does so.
  418. Actinidia: "Okay, we saw some ahead, steel types. I don't know if we want to avoid potential fights or approach potential friends. We don't have a system for this."
  419. Etna: "We're on a supply run, not a patrol."
  420. Etna: "Priority one is our job."
  421. Actinidia: "Good point. Lets try and go around. We've been walking for near an hour anyway."
  422. Actinidia: Actinidia listens again. Are they talking about anything or moving in any direction?
  423. Actinidia: 5+4+1+3=13
  424. Grace Leonhardt: "That and starting a fight would be a bad idea if they try to catch us with reinforcements on the way back.
  425. Actinidia: "They seem still, moving around will be easier."
  426. Etna: "Let's do that, then. Going around them, that is."
  427. Pierce Mars Oswell: "We'll take the long way around then. Hopefully they won't be here when we get back." Mars gets to walking.
  428. Narrator: I'll wait for token movements and checks.
  429. DNA: Ah, you were going for the actual movement. Okay. Stealth:
  430. DNA: 3+6+6+7=22
  431. Actinidia: What direction was that?
  432. DNA: I'm going south
  433. Narrator: A single test works, but i'll need your direction.
  434. Narrator: You may not get spotted at all. Or you may, but earlier or later.
  435. DNA: Okay. South, and I'll do a Perception Hearing for the other test
  436. DNA: 1+6+3+3=13
  437. Actinidia: Sealth check
  438. Actinidia: 5+2+4+3=14
  439. Actinidia: -1
  440. Actinidia: I have 2 dex, not 3
  441. Narrator: Go ahead and move your token.
  442. Narrator: If someone spots or hears you during your stealth it doesn't actually stop what you were doing.
  443. Etna: 1+3+3+2=9
  444. Narrator: Is Grace going to stealth as well?
  445. Grace Leonhardt: Considering everyone else was, yep!
  446. Grace Leonhardt: 3+6+6+3=18
  447. Grace Leonhardt: She'll try to stick with Etna.
  448. Actinidia: ((is Ura with us?
  449. Actinidia: Actinidia sees new pokemon and listens to them, if they are doing anything
  450. Actinidia: 2+2+1+3=8
  451. * Etna is approximately as stealthy as a bright blue, 4-foot-tall dinosaur strolling through a park would be.
  452. Actinidia: ((my connection might cut for a second))
  453. Uraruren: 2+5+3+3=13
  454. Narrator: No one's seemed to spot any of you yet.
  455. DNA: How do we get 'out' of this map?
  456. Narrator: The east is where you guys were headed.
  457. Narrator: But if you choose to simply keep going south you could.
  458. DNA: Ideally I'd like to go south enough so that I can loop around and continue east anyway, without drawing their attention.
  459. Actinidia is disconnected.
  460. Actinidia is disconnected.
  461. Actinidia has connected.
  462. Narrator: Had to check the overall map. There's a mcdonalds off the street to the south.
  463. Grace Leonhardt: We're lookin' for food, not minimum wage, crushed hopes and/or dreams. -3-
  464. Actinidia: Back, did we get away?
  465. DNA: Sick burn.
  466. Avara: we're discussing where to go to avoid team steel.
  467. Narrator: Yup.
  468. Avara: south has mcdonalds.
  469. Avara: east is our goal.
  470. Narrator: If you want to, we could pause here and let you guys discuss it.
  471. Avara: that sounds wonderful, yes.
  472. DNA: It is a good time to pause, but knowing me I'd forget.
  473. Narrator: Way shorter game today. We officially started a few hours late I think.
  474. * Avara hugs all of you again.
  475. DNA: Just 1 hour later. There's that too.
  476. Avara: we started an hour and change late.
  477. * Grace Leonhardt will join in on that.
  478. Grace Leonhardt: Waaaay my fault. It won't happen again thankfully,
  479. Actinidia: Sure, I just got into a car so a break here works for me.
  480. Actinidia is disconnected.
  481. Narrator: With the penalty, that's 150 experience.
  482. Uraruren: Uraruren gains 150 experience points.
  483. Etna: Etna gains 150 experience points.
  484. Etna: yay~
  485. Avara is disconnected.
  486. Grace: wat
  487. Narrator: Hm?
  488. DNA: 4650 EXP, 2850 to next level
  489. Grace Leonhardt: Grace Leonhardt gains 150 experience points.
  490. Grace is disconnected.
  491. Narrator: Saving campaign and log
  492. Narrator is disconnected.
  493. You have disconnected.
