[21:52]	GM-Mizi	[Morning comes. Kai was still in Marisa's bedroom, but the owner of the room was not there. With a groan as he moved a bit to clear the stiffness, he thought about the event yesterday...]
[21:54]	Kai	rubs his forehead, thinking of yesterday. Tons of practice, a chat with Ran, and then that drink...
[21:54]	Kai	. o O ( ... How is she up before me after she had so much...? )
[21:55]	GM-Mizi	[the smell of baked goods wafted into the room, tingling his hunger sense.]
[21:56]	Kai	groans and stretches before making his way downstairs.
[21:56]	Kai	... Hello...?
[21:58]	Marisa	is there, setting up the table. There's waffles with blueberry jam for today's breakfast.
[21:58]	Marisa	"H... Hi."
[21:58]	Marisa	is a bit... awkward.
[22:00]	Kai	Uh, hey.
[22:00]	Kai	... You went all out.
[22:00]	Kai	Do you want any help with this?
[22:00]	Marisa	continue to set up the table with as little eye contact with Kai as possible.
[22:00]	Kai	gestures to the pots and pans.
[22:01]	Marisa	"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, ze. It keeps you going throughout the day and less likely to make you fat."
[22:02]	Marisa	"H... how's your night?"
[22:02]	Kai	I'm a little sore, but that aside, not too bad.
[22:02]	Kai	You got pretty loopy, though.
[22:03]	Marisa	"You should know better to try to make sense with drunkard."
[22:03]	Marisa	chuckles.
[22:03]	Marisa	"Eat up. Today's your big day, eh?"
[22:05]	Kai	Big day?
[22:06]	Marisa	"I think you are ready to graduate, all thing considered."
[22:06]	Kai	Really?
[22:07]	Marisa	"If I continue to teach you, you will become Marisa No.2, and I don't want that."
[22:07]	Marisa	sit down and smear the jam on her waffe.
[22:07]	Marisa	"Each mage has their own uniqueness. You know all the basics. It's time for you to break away from it."
[22:09]	Kai	smiles.
[22:11]	Marisa	"Of course, you're going to be sucky forever if you try to compete with me using my own technique!"
[22:11]	Marisa	heh.
[22:12]	Kai	's smile fades.
[22:12]	Kai	What happens now, though?
[22:14]	Marisa	"Basically..."
[22:14]	Marisa	"-show me what you got-."
[22:15]	Marisa	"If you suck so bad you still get curbstomped by me even when I'm not serious, then you will stuck here for at least half a year."
[22:15]	Marisa	"If you are good enough to impress me, then you are good to go."
[22:15]	Marisa	"Easy, huh?"
[22:18]	Kai	Sounds good, though I'm still astounded you think I'm ready after only these weeks.
[22:21]	Marisa	"Think of it as a chance to prove yourself."
[22:21]	Marisa	munchmunch.
[22:23]	Kai	No pressure...
[22:24]	Kai	speaks only half-sarcastically while eating.
[22:24]	Kai	This is really good.
[22:26]	Marisa	"Of course it's good. I made it."
[22:26]	Marisa	munchmunch.
[22:27]	Marisa	[After a breakfast full of pressure, Marisa told Kai that he has time till afternoon to get ready. Marisa didn't tell him how she would test him, however...]
[22:29]	Kai	spends as much time as he can reviewing various magical techniques he has been taught- manipulation, flows, and flight, focusing on the latter.
[22:34]	Marisa	[and then afternoon happened.]
[22:34]	Kai	continually keeps his spellcard close at hand, however, just in case...
[22:34]	Marisa	"Ready to get owned?"
[22:35]	Marisa	cracks her knuckles, ready to fight. Right now the two is in the clearing in front of Marisa's house, just like when Marisa show him basic spellcard fight (which got out of hand somehow).
[22:36]	Kai	Hopefully I can return the favor, instead.
[22:37]	Kai	For last time.
[22:39]	Marisa	"Hah. Confident, aren'tcha?"
[22:39]	Marisa	floats up.
[22:40]	Kai	As confident as I can be going in to this kind of thing almost blindly...
[22:40]	Kai	chuckles.
[22:40]	Marisa	"Battle happens anyway even if you are prepared or not. Deal with it."
[22:40]	Marisa	"Life experience here."
[22:40]	Kai	nods.
[22:41]	Kai	Got to be ready.
[22:41]	Marisa	"Alright---"
[22:41]	Marisa	"---show me whatcha go!"
[22:42]	Marisa	stands on her broom, and flings curved-yet-homing star which drops mltiple starlets trail as it moves.
[22:42]	Marisa	"It's slow, so consider this a warm-up!"
[22:43]	Kai	jumps back, launching himself into the air. It's not too hard to dodge.
[22:45]	Marisa	flings more of those. The density of the bullet hell starts to build up.
[22:45]	Marisa	"Dodging's not gonna make you win!"
[22:47]	Kai	builds some distance between himself and Marisa, firing some shots in return. Unlike last time, most find their mark at this tempo.
[22:48]	Marisa	deflects it easily with her shield. However, she looks impressed.
[22:49]	Marisa	"Keep the tempo! You can't just fire and then stop entirely! Shoot when you see an opening, concentrate on dodging when you are in a pinch!"
[22:50]	Kai	fires more shots in an attempt to suppress her.
[22:51]	Marisa	"Aha!"
[22:51]	Marisa	put a spellcard between her teeth and activate.
[22:51]	Marisa	魔符「ミルキーウェイ」 !! (Magic Sign "Milky Way" )
[22:52]	Marisa	[as usual, eight magical circles spews trail of stars in a pattern of windmill. You've seen this before.]
[22:53]	Kai	quickly gets into the groove of the spellcard, following the curves of it without too much worry. Flight makes this LOADS easier.
[22:56]	Marisa	grins.
[22:57]	Marisa	keep the spellcard up, even when she's being dodged.
[23:01]	Kai	focuses his fire as much as he safely can to try and break the card!
[23:01]	Kai	Coooomeee OOOOONNNN!
[23:03]	Marisa	"Heh."
[23:03]	Marisa	's firepower and repeat rate, however, are not enough to take it down in time.
[23:04]	Marisa	's spellcard timeout.
[23:06]	Marisa	declares another one.
[23:06]	Marisa	"Sorry, but that's not gonna cut it!"
[23:06]	Marisa	"Show me more of your power!"
[23:07]	Marisa	"SURPRISE ME!"
[23:07]	Marisa	"光撃「シュート・ザ・ムーン」 !! (Light Blast "Shoot the Moon" )"
[23:08]	Marisa	declares the biggest, hardest, meanest spellcard that is not Master Spark on him. She didn't use this the last time, so Kai has no way of knowing its pattern.
[23:09]	Kai	-!
[23:09]	Kai	focuses entirely on dodging, only firing sporadically when possible.
[23:10]	Marisa	let loose eight repeater laser floating behind Kai and fire it in reverse direction! in front, there's five-way stardust spread shot, and in the back there's eight multidirectional laser!
[23:14]	Kai	flies even further away and tries his best to spiral around Marisa to evade everything!
[23:18]	Marisa	"..."
[23:18]	Marisa	purposely leave one forced line that opens up from Kai's position right into her face.
[23:20]	Kai	sees an opening and decides to go all-in on his flight training by dive-bombing Marisa!
[23:21]	Marisa	"Oh my!"
[23:21]	Marisa	say it just because. She let that happen, duh.
[23:25]	Marisa	"I'm screwed! What to do?!"
[23:26]	Kai	falls back just a bit in case it's a trap, but keeps laying on the fire.
[23:27]	Marisa	wait just as about it's going to spellbreak, and use super-cancel. The spellcard stops, and she disappear from Kai's vision.
[23:27]	Marisa	"!"
[23:28]	Kai	Wha!?
[23:28]	Kai	looks all around him while flying further into the sky for manueverability.
[23:28]	Marisa	"Sorry, but even in mock battle I'm not gonna let you win!"
[23:29]	Marisa	put Mini-Hakkero reactor right in front of Kai's face.
[23:29]	Marisa	"[Love sign]....."
[23:29]	Marisa	"- Masterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr"
[23:29]	Marisa	"--------SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARKKKK!"
[23:30]	Kai	's pupils constrict in panic as he draws his spellcard.
[23:31]	Kai	[Potential sign] Fractal Singularity!
[23:32]	Marisa	"wha---?"
[23:34]	Kai	gathers multiple colors of energy around himself before it bursts in a shower of random bullets before rocketing up into the sky!
[23:35]	Marisa	is so surprised she lose concentration, and the superheated beam of love grazed Kai's face by a millemeters.
[23:35]	Marisa	"Kyaaaaaa!"
[23:36]	Kai	fires almost literal curtains or plates of danmaku at a time, each of which zip just past Marisa and compress in an ever-growing ball of light behind her.
[23:37]	Marisa	"Yoooooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!"
[23:37]	Marisa	recover soon enough, and with blind rage, advancing at Kai with breakneck speed.
[23:40]	Kai	begins firing a second pattern of danmaku which intercepts an amount of Marisa's danmaku, but only with additional dodging and flight does it prove an effective defense. While this goes on, the fire continues and further compresses just behind her...
[23:42]	Marisa	is a veteran in this kind of battles. Even in this state, she still has her finess and tactics ready. fast yet steady, marisa get even closer.
[23:44]	Kai	's sphere of light begins to reach critical mass and starts firing homing lasers! Now she faces danmaku on two fronts.
[23:46]	Marisa	"Good, but not good enough to take me down!"
[23:46]	Marisa	slip past Kai, and is at his back. The homing Danmaku now homes in at Marisa, which is right behind Kai!
[23:50]	Kai	's sphere rockets towards him as well, but he dodges it and flies as far away from it as possible. The sphere of energy shifts between all colors now, wobbling in a clearly unstable state.
[23:52]	Marisa	"!?
[23:53]	Marisa	"Oh you!"
[23:53]	Marisa	"[stardust sign] - Multidirectional lasers!"
[23:54]	Marisa	blast out eight-way small lasers that wipes everything off the sky, including all of Kai's hard work!
[23:54]	Marisa	"...*haah* ...*haah* ...*haah*..."
[23:54]	Marisa	"You... you made me deathbomb."
[23:54]	Marisa	"sly little bastard."
[23:55]	Kai	laughs, victorious, as he closes the distance.
[23:55]	Marisa	looks at Kai, beaming with excitement.
[23:55]	Marisa	"Wanna give it a go again?"
[23:55]	Marisa	"like, full power?"
[23:56]	Kai	One card versus one card?
[23:56]	Kai	decides to push his luck.
[23:58]	Marisa	"That's the spirit!"
[23:58]	Marisa	readies herself, some distance apart.
[23:58]	Marisa	whips it out from under her hat.
[23:58]	Marisa	"ready?"
[00:01]	Kai	readies himself to dart towards Marisa. The closer he is, bhe easier it will be to dodge Master Spark...
[00:01]	Kai	Ready!
[00:04]	Marisa	"魔砲「ファイナルマスタースパーク」 !! (Magicannon "Final Master Spark") "
[00:04]	Marisa	fires the MOST HUMONGOUS LASER ANY LIVING HUMAN AND YOUKAI HAVE EVER SEEN YET
[00:05]	Kai	gathers as much magical energy as he possibly can and detonates himself at the optimal angle to avoid the laser!
[00:06]	Marisa	[Kai slips past Final Spark with some damages, however, he seems okay!]
[00:06]	Marisa	"Guh!"
[00:07]	Marisa	cannot turn that easily, with Final Spark activated.
[00:13]	Kai	orbits at the closest safe distance, pelting Marisa with danmaku.
[00:13]	Kai	refrains from going all-out, though, until...
[00:13]	Kai	dive-bombs Marisa again, riding in ona current of solid danmaku!
[00:14]	Marisa	"EEEEEEEEEEEYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH"
[00:14]	Marisa	use SHEER POWER to drag Final Spark at Kai's way!
[00:15]	Kai	does his best to dodge, but is committed to the attack!
[00:16]	Kai	ultimately doesn't need to, as the danmaku before him pelts Marisa mere moments before Final Spark reaches him.
[00:17]	Marisa	[a loud "PEWWW" can be heard, as Marisa got shot down and explode into red powerups.]
[00:17]	Marisa	[Actually it's "pichuuuuun but whatever]
[00:18]	Marisa	"Ow!"
[00:18]	Marisa	land, ass-first.
[00:19]	Someone	golfclaps from above; it's nearly impossible to hear given how noisy those two are still being.
[00:19]	Kai	crash-lands not too far away. He still needs some improvement on extreme flight.
[00:19]	Kai	Agh!
[00:21]	Someone	"You still do fancy those slow and bulky cards, don't you Ms. Kirisame~?"
[00:21]	Kai	Huh?
[00:21]	SixteenthNight	tisk-tisks as she shakes her head back and forth.
[00:22]	Marisa	"It's my policy. Power conquers all, yup."
[00:22]	Marisa	got up and dust herself.
[00:22]	SixteenthNight	is perched atop a tree branch maybe thirty feet up, giving her a perfect view of the battle that just completed. She doesn't seem to be bending the branch, as if she weighs nothing at all.
[00:23]	SixteenthNight	looks like that one maid from that one mansion. And that's because she is.
[00:23]	Kai	looks up.
[00:24]	SixteenthNight	"Not if you can't hit anything with it."
[00:24]	Kai	. o O ( ... A Maid? Really? )
[00:24]	SixteenthNight	looks down at Kai. It's hard to judge her face from all the way up there.
[00:25]	SixteenthNight	"So THIS is the apprentice I've been hearing all those rumors about."
[00:26]	Kai	Who are you?
[00:26]	Kai	stands and smooths out his dirtied clothing.
[00:27]	Marisa	"Yup. News travel fast, huh."
[00:27]	SixteenthNight	leaps down from the branch. Though she doesn't appear to fly, the thirty-foot fall seems no more to her than jumping out of bed. She straightens her skirt once she lands, though strangely it didn't flutter up when she was dropping.
[00:27]	Marisa	"Kai, Sakuya. Sakuya, Kai."
[00:27]	Marisa	"Get acquainted."
[00:28]	SixteenthNight	folds her hands in front of her and bows like a maid should.
[00:28]	SixteenthNight	"Izayoi Sakuya, in fact."
[00:30]	Kai	returns the gesture as best he can.
[00:31]	SixteenthNight	"A not unimpressive display, Master Kai. You seem to learn quick."
[00:32]	Kai	On the outside I was known as polite from a very young age; I'm glad this shows through to one such as yourself.
[00:33]	SixteenthNight	smirks.
[00:33]	SixteenthNight	"I was referring to your danmaku. But, hmm~, yes."
[00:34]	Marisa	"I wasn't serious, by the way."
[00:34]	Marisa	hmph.
[00:34]	Kai	Oh, uh, thanks.
[00:35]	Kai	scratches his chin.
[00:35]	Kai	So, Miss Izayoi- you just decided to drop by?
[00:37]	SixteenthNight	raises an eyebrow at Kai.
[00:37]	SixteenthNight	"What a cute question~"
[00:37]	SixteenthNight	walks past Kai as she pats him on the head.
[00:37]	SixteenthNight	walks (or does she glide?) over to in front of Marisa. She takes a pad of paper and spectacles from... somewhere, and addresses the witch.
[00:38]	SixteenthNight	"MISS Kirisame, I am afraid that a number of your library books are... 'overdue'. I'm going to have to ask you to return them."
[00:38]	SixteenthNight	flips through her notepad.
[00:39]	Marisa	"Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh."
[00:39]	SixteenthNight	"Quite a number, in fact."
[00:39]	Marisa	"But it's not like Patchouli actually use those, right?"
[00:39]	Marisa	"I need it as a reference!"
[00:40]	SixteenthNight	is all business and propriety. The seriousest of business!
[00:41]	SixteenthNight	"Well now, I'm not one to judge, but considering the number of beginner-level instruction books you've 'checked out' recently, I'd say they're for HIS reference."
[00:41]	Kai	is mildly frumped, in the meantime. Head-patting is typically for those who are younger...
[00:41]	Marisa	"doot de doo "
[00:41]	Marisa	whistles.
[00:41]	SixteenthNight	can't possibly be older than Kai; she doesn't look a day over twenty.
[00:42]	Marisa	"..."
[00:42]	Marisa	glaaaaaaaaaaances.
[00:42]	Marisa	"...................."
[00:42]	SixteenthNight	"You DO know that it is against our library's policy to check out books for use by a non-member?"
[00:43]	Marisa	"well, I am not actually a member, in fact."
[00:43]	SixteenthNight	glaaaaaaaaaares over her half-moon spectacles.
[00:43]	Marisa	"But fine. He just finished his training anyway."
[00:43]	Marisa	"And it's a bother to haul all of those back again. so... good thing you are here, maybe?"
[00:44]	SixteenthNight	looks over her shoulder at Kai.
[00:44]	Marisa	"Come to think of it, Alice haven't dropped by lately. Probably because I haven't rai---"
[00:44]	Marisa	"...*ahem*, borrow."
[00:45]	Kai	stands back and decides not to interrupt for the now.
[00:45]	Marisa	"Probably because I haven't borrowed -doll of the far east dynasty- that Alice wanted. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Completely forgot about that."
[00:46]	Marisa	"Good thing that you reminded me, Sakuya-kun! Time to visit Patchouli!"
[00:46]	Marisa	"I'll gather the one I don't need right now for you. Wait a tick, 'kay?"
[00:46]	Marisa	skedaddle into her hut, leaving Kai with the maid.
[00:47]	SixteenthNight	"Waiting is what I do best, Miss Kirisame..."
[00:47]	SixteenthNight	responds enigmatically after Marisa's already left.
[00:48]	SixteenthNight	spins on her toes to look back at Kai, her braids swaying against her temples.
[00:48]	SixteenthNight	"So."
[00:49]	Kai	nods.
[00:49]	Kai	Yes?
[00:49]	SixteenthNight	looks Kai over. A decent specimen. Not much better than decent, by her eye.
[00:50]	SixteenthNight	"Done with your training already, are you?"
[00:51]	Kai	Apparently, though I still have a bunch to learn.
[00:52]	SixteenthNight	smiles and nods.
[00:52]	SixteenthNight	"Well then, I wouldn't call that done with your training, now would I?"
[00:53]	Kai	Well, training in any field is finite, where what there is to learn is basically infinite, right?
[00:54]	Kai	Life is a continual learning process.
[00:55]	SixteenthNight	puts a knuckle up to her chin in poised thought.
[00:55]	SixteenthNight	nods.
[00:56]	SixteenthNight	"...Yes, you remind me of him."
[00:56]	Kai	"Him"?
[00:56]	SixteenthNight	waves her gloved hand in dismissal.
[00:57]	SixteenthNight	"Oh, I'm sure you wouldn't know him. But his talk was lofty too. Like yours."
[00:59]	Kai	Are you going to leave my curiosity hanging?
[00:59]	Kai	It sucks when that happens.
[01:00]	SixteenthNight	chuckles softly; it's very cute.
[01:00]	SixteenthNight	"Hmm hmm~ He said that too."
[01:01]	Kai	Just throwing out a guess: This wouldn't be my friend Zeke, would it?
[01:01]	Kai	shoots in the dark.
[01:03]	SixteenthNight	"Oh, you have a friend? I wouldn't have expected that; one new arrival is news enough."
[01:04]	SixteenthNight	"I wonder how it was the two of you got separated; I can't imagine no one's told you how dangerous it is to go alone?"
[01:04]	Kai	Well, seeing as I'm out in the middle of the woods and you've heard rumors of me, I'd have thought maybe some might exist around him, since he went closer to where others live.
[01:04]	Kai	... I think.
[01:04]	Marisa	"Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey!"
[01:04]	Marisa	runs back from the house, with sizable book bag on her back.
[01:05]	Marisa	"Alright. Good to go!"
[01:05]	SixteenthNight	tilts her head to look at the running thief.
[01:05]	Marisa	"What were you sayin'?"
[01:05]	SixteenthNight	smiles as she takes the bag.
[01:06]	SixteenthNight	"I was saying how dangerous it is to be alone in Gensokyo, Miss Kirisame~"
[01:06]	SixteenthNight	implies nothing. Nothing at all.
[01:06]	Marisa	"huh."
[01:06]	Kai	catches the implication.
[01:06]	Marisa	let the reference to anything (if any) goes over her head.
[01:07]	Kai	May I interject?
[01:07]	SixteenthNight	"But of course, Master Kai."
[01:07]	Kai	Where are you from?
[01:07]	Marisa	"Anyway, Kai. As a sort-of-mage you currently are, it's a good idea to go to Pachu's library. You will find lots of useful stuff there!"
[01:08]	SixteenthNight	nods as she tilts her head in Marisa's direction, dodging Kai's question.
[01:09]	SixteenthNight	"Indeed, indeed. The library of Madame Knowledge knows no peer in this country, and perhaps not even in yours."
[01:09]	Marisa	"as a self-taught mage, I find it useful. I bet you will, too."
[01:10]	Marisa	"so what are we waitin' for?! Let's go!"
[01:10]	Marisa	hooray!
[01:10]	SixteenthNight	holds out a hand in front of Marisa's face.
[01:10]	SixteenthNight	"Ahhhh-bup-bup-bup-bah."
[01:10]	SixteenthNight	raises the book bag up and down, but stares at Marisa.
[01:11]	SixteenthNight	"I think you've forgotten a few, Miss Kirisame."
[01:11]	Marisa	"?"
[01:11]	Marisa	"well I still need to use those, so yeah."
[01:11]	Marisa	say this matter-of-factly.
[01:12]	SixteenthNight	lowers her eyebrows a barely-detectable amount.
[01:13]	SixteenthNight	"I'm afraid you've 'used' them quite long enough. If you wish to 'use' them more, you may formally check them out at your leisure."
[01:13]	SixteenthNight	"Our staff is quite helpful and provided for your convenience."
[01:13]	Marisa	"Ehhhh. Later, later. No time for that. I'll just go tell Patchy myself or something."
[01:13]	Marisa	"can we go now? like seriously, ze."
[01:13]	Kai	looks between them.
[01:13]	Kai	Uh, Where to?
[01:14]	Marisa	"Scarlet Devil Mansion, Voile magic library."
[01:16]	Kai	I see.
[01:16]	SixteenthNight	"Be sure to use the front gate; it's provided for your convenience."
[01:16]	Kai	can't think of any special response. Best to only judge a place by its virtues rather than its name, especially when it has in theory so much to offer.
[01:16]	SixteenthNight	eyes Marisa strangely.
[01:17]	Marisa	"But your guard's always sleeping there's no point checking in there."
[01:17]	Marisa	shrugs.
[01:18]	SixteenthNight	"She is currently... NOT, sleeping."
[01:18]	SixteenthNight	pauses strangely in the middle there.
[01:18]	SixteenthNight	"She'll be delighted to assist you."
[01:22]	Marisa	"Oh well. I can use front gate once in a while."
[01:22]	Marisa	"let's go!"
[01:22]	Marisa	take a head start and fly off.
[01:23]	Kai	looks to the elegant maid.
[01:23]	Kai	Should I follow you?
[01:24]	Kai	I haven't yet flown large distances, but this should be a good test.
[01:24]	SixteenthNight	"Oh, I'll be along. It'll be a good test I think to try and keep up with HER."
[01:24]	SixteenthNight	shoos Kai away with her hand.
[01:25]	SixteenthNight	"Run along now; you wouldn't want to lose her~"
