Noelle was exhausted. These recent days of going on adventures with her new friend Lumine were fun and exciting, but those are also two words for exhausting. Not just the actual adventuring either, everyone seems to have such a habit of getting their adventuring gear dirty, with Lumine knocking up dust tornadoes not the least of her troubles. Of course, she didn't really mind, seeing everyone's gear sparkling clean in the evenings after she gave them a cleaning filled her with satisfaction. The bigger the challenge, the more satisfying to solve, she always thought.

Today's adventure ended a little differently though. When the pair got home to their little house in Monstadt, Lumine asked Noelle to relax in their big comfy chair by the window. Noelle didn't understand, since normally at this time she would get to work getting baths ready and starting on the laundry for the day and her other usual duties, but she obliged her friend and sat.
"You've really been helping everyone out a lot lately Noelle" Lumine said.
"Of course, it's my pleasure"
"Today I wanted to do something nice for you. Give you a day off, you know, to show my appreciation"
"Oh that's not necessary Lumine, satisfaction from a job well done is all the thanks I need!"
"I knew you'd say something like that. Regardless, for today, sit back and relax for a bit. I'll be right back"
Lumine left the room, and Noelle could hear the water faucet in the bathroom filling up the bath, then a moment later the tea kettle whistle from the kitchen. A few seconds later, Lumine entered the room again with a teapot and some cups. She pours a cup for each of them.
"Today was quite the adventure! We really helped out Mondstadt by curing Dvalin. I feel bad for him..." Lumine says while sipping tea.
Noelle felt a bit awkward still wearing her armor and rustled a bit as she adjusts her chair, "Yes, I'm glad we could help all these people though. That makes me happy." she says with a smile.
"Here, let me help you with your armor"
"Oh that's not required, I can put it on and take it off myself"
"Yeah but today is your relaxation day, let me do it. Think of me as your squire, helping her knight. You are an aspiring knight, are you not?"
Noelle laughs a bit, but says okay.
Lumine walks behind Noelle's chair, and gently brushes Noelle's hair to the side so she can unbuckle the clasps of her breastplate that are across her back. Noelle's back and shoulder muscles are lean, but they're also well defined. Noelle clearly pays attention to maintaining her figure, and all those days spent lugging around furniture and carrying things from the market long distances back home has paid off. Lumine shakes herself out of admiring her friend and starts on her task. Soon enough, all of Noelle's arm and chest armor pieces are in a neat array on the velvet cloth laid out next to Noelle's chair.
While she was removing the armor, Lumine couldn't help but notice the Noelle stayed very still and straightbacked, as if she was nervous.
"Are you okay Noelle? You seem to not be very relaxed"
"Sorry, I'm just not used to someone else doing this."
"Relax Noelle, I'm happy to do things for you too"
"Alright..." She sits back a bit in the chair, but doesn't really relax.
Lumine puts a hand on her friend's shoulder, and gives it a very light squeeze.
"Your shoulders are very tense Noelle. When was the last time you had a back rub?"
"Ah, well, never actually"
"What?"
"I'm good at giving them though!"
"Yeah but when was the last time you got one?"
"Yes, never"
"Well, we'll have to fix that"
Lumine places her other hand on Noelle's other shoulder, and begins to rub them slightly, feeling some warmth flow to them. Her fingers and hands are small, but she manages to rub more firmly, and adds in her palms across Noelle's back to really give a good back massage.
"That feels great Lumine."
"I'm glad to hear that"
As Lumine works, she can see her friend's shoulders drop and her eyes seem more relaxed. She's happy to see her enjoying it and finally relaxing for real.
After a few more moments of this, Noelle is resting comfortably in the chair, her shoulders relaxed and a pleasant half smile on her lips.
"Now for the rest!" Lumine says with a cheery tone.
Lumine circles around to the front of the chair to face Noelle. She kneels down on both knees and begins unraveling the bows that serve as Noelle's leg armor clasps.
After carefully arranging the waist and leg armor next to the rest of the armor on the velvet carpet, Lumine carefully places her hand behind Neolle's left heel. She takes a cloth out of her pocket and carefully cleans every speck of dust and dirt off of Noelle's shoe. When the shoe is spotless and sparkles, she carefully unwinds the ribbons that keep the shoe on, and she places it carefully next to the rest of the armor. She begins the same task on Noelle's other heel. Noelle is watching from above with rapt attention, not used to someone else doing things like this for her. Her professional side is glad to see an expertly clean pair of shoes and is impressed with her friend, but her personal side makes her red faced with embarrassment.
Lumine breaks the moment of silence once her task is finished, "I presume the same is true of your feet as your back?"
"What do you mean?"
"Never had a good massage?"
"Oh, goodness, no, but you don't have t-"
She is cut off when Lumine begins her task of giving her the best foot massage she can muster. Noelle melts into her chair and only small "Oh my"s are heard from her. Lumine's small fingers knead Noelle's feet and dance from top to bottom, front to back, never missing a spot. Noelle's eyes are closed and the faint half smile has returned to her lips. Lumine enjoys seeing her friend so happy and relaxed.
The two lose track of time, and before they know it, the orange glow of the setting sun shines through the window. Between the tea, armor, the back rub, and the foot rub, Lumine has been doting on Noelle for a few hours now.
"Ah! Time flies!" Lumine says, "Your bath is ready, madame" Lumine says in an exaggerated fancy accent like a butler.
"Thank you squire, I would much enjoy that after our day's adventure" Noelle responds in an equally exaggerated and playful fancy accent.
The pair move to the bathroom, where Lumine prepared a bath earlier. She gracefully bows, pulling the door  mostly closed with her and she steps backwards out of the room. "I shall give you some privacy, Knight Noelle. I shall knock before I come in again"
Noelle begins removing her undershirt and her tights, thinking to herself what Lumine meant by coming in again..
She steps into the warm water and slides down into the tub, letting the day wash off her in the bubble bath. Her thoughts regard what a pleasant evening this has been, and how nice it is to have Lumine treating her to a nice evening. They had only been friends a few weeks, but they got along grand right away, since they both want to be Knights and they're both helping people, something both of them seem to enjoy.
After several moments of quiet pass, Noelle's thoughts are interrupted by a soft knock on the door, and a very slow opening of the door accompanied by the squeak of the hinges. Noelle makes a mental note to look at that next time she is cleaning the house.
"Yes, come in" Noielle says as she arranges herself in the tub such that bubbles cover her almost completely, save for her head. She takes modesty very seriously.
"How's the bath? right temperature? Got all of your soaps? Too many bubbles?" Lumine's string of questions is stopped by Noelle reassuring her, "yes, everything is fine, thank you. This is really nice"
"Good. I was thinking I would help a bit more."
Noelle had never had someone else in the bathroom with her while she bathed, she was slightly nervous. Lumine picked up on this when Noelle sldes deeper into the bubbles a bit more, almost hiding.
"Nothing that would make you uncomfortable, of course. How about I just wash your back for you?"
Noelle considers it for a moment, but says okay. That's not too exposing, or intimate.
Lumine walks carefully over to the bathtub, and Noelle arranges herself facing away from her, a large pile of bubbles on her head and back. Lumine cups some water with her hand and brings it to her friend's back and begins pouring it over her shoulders and back, then rubbing it with some soap and a cloth.
"Isn't it nice to have someone get these hard-to-each places?"
"Yes I suppose it is" Noelle says quietly, enjoying what is also somewhat of a back rub round two as Lumine rubs the water and cloth across her back.
Satisfied with her task after a few moments, Lumine rises from her seat at the side of the bathtub and announces that dinner almost ready. Noelle perks up and says "Oh, dinner too? You really planned this out!"
"Of course, Knight Noelle, your squire is the best, and you're lucky to have me!" she says with a playful smile.
Noelle laughs a bit as well.
"Dinner will be served by the time you're ready" Lumine says as she backs out of the room to give her friend privacy to redress. Noelle looks around, and spots a freshly clean pile of her clothes folded neatly on the chair Lumine had just been sitting on.
She wasn't exaggerating. When Moelle exits the bathroom and enters the dining room, she's met with quite the array of foods. Lumine had been collecting quite a few ingredients and recipes during their recent adventures, and is obviously quite happy to show off. Dumplings, fresh fish, meat and veggie kebabs, and an array of side dishes were spread out across their dining table, more than enough for the two of them. And of course, front and center, the main course of the evening, Noelle's favorite dish: a healthy and nutritious salad, in a large serving bowl with nuts and veggies topping it. Noelle is glad her friend remembered her favorite dish, and is quite touched.
"well, let's dig in! I'm hungry!" Lumine says as she slides into a seat across the table. Noelle follows suit, noticing that her tummy was growling a bit, especially now with the sight if that salad before her.
The pair eat for a long time, the sunset turning to night as they enjoy each other's company, laughing about the antics their party members got into that day.
After the two are full and relax after dinner, Noelle takes the opportunity to thank Lumine. "This was all really nice Lumine. I appreciate the gesture."
"Of course Noelle. You take such good care of me and the rest of our friends, I just want you to know that you are always appreciated, and that if you ever need anything, I am always there for you, just as you are always there for me. You're a treasured friend"
Lumine's words were like music to Noelle's ears. She felt great satisfaction that people appreciate her, and also a newfound sense of safety and friendship now that she knows she has someone who cares for her as much as she cares for others. She couldn't be happier.
