  1. Two types of magic attack--shot and spellcard.
  2. As long as a character has any MP, shot may be used. It does not cost any MP. Shot may be used after dodging spellcards in addition to during the character's turn, but not if the character was hit by the spellcard. However, it doesn't do much damage compared to spellcard. Characters may have either spread (higher hit chance, lower damage) or focus (lower hit chance, higher damage) shot attacks, but must choose which to use at the beginning of each scene.
  3. Spellcard attacks cost MP. The cost rises with the hit chance, damage, and difficulty of the card. Difficulty measures the number of times a defender attempting to dodge the spellcard must roll to dodge. (Undecided on whether this also determines the number of times the spellcard attacks.) A character may have a number of different spellcards equal to their level.
