  1. As a brief side-project, these creation tables will allow for the random generation of Changeling Hives, Queens, and Domains, with the intent of being fairly modular. The basic tables will allow for quick generation that is not dependent on anything outside of the show, while the extensive tables contain some that are built from more personal headcanon.

  88. Historical tables:
  89. ------------------
  90. Side in the Umbraid Succession Wars:
  91. D10 | Result
  92. 01 | Thesmos:
  93. This Hive became a leading power in the House of Thesmos, and commanded other hives in their struggle to
  94. hold the Empire from disintegrating. Though they did not win the war, the Hive is still held in high
  95. regard by the hives they once led, but are disliked by their former enemies.
  96. 02 | Thesmos:
  97. Though not rising to leadership, this Hive fought fiercely for the cause of their faction. They're not
  98. widely remembered, but can usually use their history to build good relations to those they once fought
  99. besides.
  100. 03 | Thesmos:
  101. This Hive gave only minimal support to their political faction, and fought mostly to preserve their own
  102. interests. Due to this, many hives, especially former allies, will hold this Hive in lower regard, and
  103. be cautious to trust them.
  104. 04 | Thesmos:
  105. Glory is not for everyone, and though this Hive fought valiantly they were ultimately defeated and nearly
  106. wiped out. Though the survivors managed to rebuild, the Hive is still seen as weak and inferior by most
  107. other hives.
  108. 05 | Hysmine:
  109. This Hive became a leading power in the House of Hysmine, and commanded other hives in their struggle to
  110. hold break away from the Empire. Though the war's havoc left little room for victory, the Hive is still
  111. held in high regard by the hives they once led, though they are also disliked by their former enemies.
  112. 06 | Hysmine:
  113. Though not rising to leadership, this Hive fought fiercely for the cause of their faction. They're not
  114. widely remembered, but can usually use their history to build good relations to those they once fought

  119. be cautious to trust them.
  120. 08 | Hysmine:
  121. Glory is not for everyone, and though this Hive fought valiantly they were ultimately defeated and nearly
  122. wiped out. Though the survivors managed to rebuild, the Hive is still seen as weak and inferior by most
  123. other hives.
  124. 09 | Neutral:
  125. Though taking no side in the greater political conflict, this Hive still fought it's neighbours for
  126. control over land, prey and resources. Other hives will often view this Hive with some respect, though
  127. they will seldom be particularly friendly.
  128. 10 | Neutral:
  129. Defensive and unaligned, this Hive took no part in the conflict, and fought only to if pressed to defend
  130. itself. Other hives generally don't think too much about this Hive, and it's usually seen as
  131. insignificant or unimportant.

  146. Legendary Queen:
  147. D10 | Result
  148. 01 | General
  149. In the long and rich history of your hive, you've been blessed with a Queen famed for her martial
  150. exploits, leaving the Hive's armies to glorious victory. Her legacy has left the hive with a distinct
  151. military pride, and Queens are expected carry their ancestor's memory into new glory.
  152. 02 | Sorceress
  153. Magic comes naturally to all Changelings, but few Queens are as skilled as the one that once led this
  154. hive. Accomplishing much as both as scholar and practitioner of magic, she left behind a collection
  155. of arcane works as well as a distinct respect for magic, that both drones and Queens have since
  156. striven to uphold.
  157. 03 | Artisan
  158. More valuable than pure wealth, the magical and mechanical artefacts in this hive's possession are prized
  159. heirlooms left behind by a renowned crafter-Queen. The culture, theoretical work and practical creations
  160. from her reign are still valued, and as such it is expected by current Queens to continue the traditions.
  161. 04 | Builder
  162. Few Queens leave behind such testaments to their rule as this Hive's great Queen, whose buildings still
  163. stand. She lay down the first stone to many a glorious project, and did in her wake leave behind a
  164. sense of pride in the Hive's wealth of buildings.
  165. 05 | Artist
  166. A true scholar of music, poetry and philosophy, the Queen that once led this Hive left them a number of
  167. great works of scholarship and art, as well as a more refined culture than which can be found in many
  168. other Hives. To this day, the Hive considers itself to be particularly enlightened, and expects it's
  169. rulers to be contributors (or at least patrons) to their cultural wealth.
  170. 06 | Plutocrat
  171. For a Changeling, money has many practical benefits, and a wealthy Hive can benefit greatly from trade
  172. with other Hives, as well as increased control over their prey. Realizing this, a bygone Queen of this
  173. hive amassed a vast fortune, and imprinted in her Hive's culture the importance of wealth.
  174. 07 | Mariner
  175. Though more than uncommon for a Changeling, a Queen of this Hive's history once felt the irresistible
  176. call of the ocean, leading her people to seafaring prominence, both as infiltrators on others' ships, but
  177. also in time as captains of their own vessels. Though this Queen is now gone, the ocean still beacons
  178. for her Hive and its new Queen to follow her legacy.
  179. 08 | Explorer
  180. There is still much of the world that is unknown to Changelings, and much that has not been explored
  181. by anything more than scouting parties or second-hoof accounts. But in the past, one great Queen of
  182. this Hive set out to explore and document new and strange lands, forever after giving her people a
  183. yearning to discover the unknown, and for new Queens to ever look past the horizon.
  184. 09 | Drone
  185. The true legend of this Hive is no Queen, but a common Changeling, who distinguished himself by virtue
  186. of his great actions. By going above and beyond what was asked of him, he left behind a hero cult, as
  187. well as a firm belief amongst the common Changelings that greatness can come from humble origins.
  188. This has led to a situation where the Hive is more autonomous from the Queen than what is tradition.
  189. 10 | None
  190. Unfortunately, this hive has never been blessed with a Queen of any particular importance or greatness.
  191. This is a sore spot in this Hive's pride, and has led to very great expectations being placed in their
  192. Queens, as if to pressure them into distinguishing themselves and becoming the legendary figure
  193. the Hive so desperately craves.

  248. Queen tables:
  249. -------------
  250. Reign:
  251. D10 | Result
  252. 01 | Fresh Queen
  253. This young Queen has stepped into power so recently that she has yet to make any mark upon the world.
  254. She's not only inexperienced, but needs to establish herself as a capable ruler, both for outside forces
  255. as well as her own people.
  256. 02 | Short, good reign
  257. While this Queen's rule has been short, at most a few decades, she's managed well in that short span of
  258. time. Though she's still relatively unknown in the grander scale of things, she's already well-liked by
  259. her own people.
  260. 03 | Longer, good reign
  261. Having ruled for more than a century, this Queen has accomplished much in her rule, becoming a popular
  262. leader known both at home and abroad.
  263. 04 | Ancient, good reign
  264. Few are those who can remember there being a time before this respectable, centuries-old ruler took
  265. power. For most Changelings, she's seen as both a source of her hive's pride as well as a seemingly
  266. timeless bastion of good and proper rule.
  267. 05 | Short, bad reign
  268. In spite of having been in power for less than a century, this Queen has nevertheless managed to get off
  269. to a poor start, failing to live up to her role and it's lofty expectations. Her only solace is that she
  270. might still have time to turn things around before her bad reputation spreads too widely.
  271. 06 | Longer, bad reign
  272. Though having reigned for more than a century, this Queen reputation less than stellar, as her reign has
  273. been characterized more by her defeats than by her scarce victories. Other Queens acknowledge her, but
  274. generally consider her a weak ruler of little importance and ability.
  275. 07 | Ancient, bad reign
  276. Though seemingly capable of staying in power for several centuries, that might very well be the full
  277. extent of this Queen's accomplishments. Adding up all the aspects of her rule, the result is strikingly
  278. negative, leaving her resented by her own people, and outright mocked abroad.
  279. 08 | Short, uneventful reign
  280. Decades is just not enough time to establish oneself, and this Queen's reign has shown. Stable yet
  281. uneventful, she has yet to make much of a name for herself abroad, or distinguish herself in any proper
  282. way.
  283. 09 | Longer, uneventful reign
  284. For more than a century, this Queen has led her hive through a relatively uneventful reign. Her name
  285. commands some respect, and her years have granted experience, but she has done little to mark herself as
  286. a exceptional ruler.
  287. 10 | Ancient, uneventful reign
  288. Summing together all the victories and losses in the centuries-long reign of this Queen, the result is
  289. strikingly equal. Though her centuries in power have made this queen experienced and well-known, she's
  290. not know to be anything beyond a average ruler.
