    | What is Hisoutensoku?
    Touhou Hisoutensoku is a quick-paced and balanced fun 2D Fighting/Bullet Action game. For more
    information on the details of the game please read further down or check out the recorded
    matches section further down.
 
    | What is the community like?
    Soku players are generally veterans dedicated to the game, newcomers come and go fairly often.
    which may or may not keep the pool of intermediate players fresh. If you are lucky enough to be
    SEA/JP, the eastern scene is very active due tenco! and AU. Offline community outside of japan is
    unfortunetely, nonexistant.
 
    For most part though, Soku players generally pretty dedicated and fairly awesome people.
 
    | Is this game hard? Stick or Pad?
    Soku is fun and addictive at all skill levels. It is also very pad/keyboard friendly so either
    one is fine.
 
    | So how many characters are in Soku?
    As of now there are 20 playable characters, however each character has customize decks that
    they draw cards from in place of meter, including  Supers [Spellcards], Skillcards [make your skills
    stronger, or even change them!] and a variety of system cards [low-cost utility moves and buffs]
    Everyone is viable, so feel free to play favorites, if you are having trouble picking a character...

    All characters have a basic dial-A [mash A] sequence for beginners, and all the basic combos are
    relatively easy, with Advanced combos being only moderately difficult Limit system keeps combos

    | Is weather based entirely on luck?
    Weather can be manipulated through the use of spellcards, forced knockdowns or allowing
    yourself to be knocked down. Before the timer reaches 99 on the weather, it can be
    cycled and manipulated before activation. Bullet conversions into crystals also end
    or start weather early. Weather can be ended or started at anytime through the use of
    the weather system card. [Tenshi is notable for having a super that cancels weather immedietely
    and various character specific ways to manipulate the weather]
 
    | Typhoon is weird!, what can I do when it activates?
    Do pokes where your opponent is unable to trade and don't be predictable with movement.
    Make wise trades when you need to. Think of it as another game where you are unable to
    block and must use Soku's 8way flight to full use. A lot of characters have niche instantaneus
    movement/teleport moves that can be lifesavers in this weather. Seeing that no one can block

 6a. Where to Find Matches
 
    A netplay thread can be found on /jp/ (http://boards.4chan.org/jp/). You can generally find the
    thread by performing a Find (Ctrl + F) for "hisoutensoku" or "soku" at http://catalog.neet.tv/jp/.
    If no hosts are active and you are able to host post your IP along with your location, skill level
    and preference for delay if appropriate. Make sure to have your port forwarded (more on that below).
 
    You can also seek matches via IRC in #hisouten (channel) on rizon.net (server). If you do not have
    an IRC client, you can use the web portal. [if you look-up the hisoutensoku threads in the archive
    you can find an easy crack for mIRC]

    If you don't like IRC you can always try Soku lobby. The userbase is not as strong as #hisouten,
    but it boasts tons of features and a tighter-knit community if you're into that thing. Moderation/
    Administration is a tad stricter than #hisouten as well Lobby was originally developed as a caster
    for Soku, but it is currently in development I.E. DOES NOT WORK.

 6b. Best Practices
 
    | I am experiencing lag and/or disconnects. What can I do?
    Your connection to your match partner is poor or unstable. Try the following:
 
    1. Always stop any downloads/uploads/streams/torrents/etc that are running before hosting. Be aware
       that if you are on a shared connection your experience will be affected by the internet use of
       your roommates/family.
    2. Do not use a wireless connection if possible.
    3. During poor connection Soku netplayers can experience what is known as a "desync". This
       means that the clients are no longer communicating with each other correctly. If the other player
       stops moving, moves in a fixed pattern, whiffs in empty space or neither starts a new match or
-      leaves after a match has ended you may have experienced a desync. If a desync occurs, simply hit esc

    4. It is strongly recommended to play people as near to you as possible. Most issues experienced with
       netplay are due to a poor connection between the two players, the risk of this is significantly

 6c. Hosting (How to Forward Ports)
 
    In order to host you will need to configure your router to forward a port. In depth guides can
    usually be found for your router at http://portforward.com/ which allows you to search by router
    manufacturer and model. A general idea of the process for most routers:
 
    1. Open Run (Start Menu > Run or Windows Key + R) and type "cmd". In the Command Prompt window type
       ipconfig.
    2. Find your computer's IP address and the
       default gateway (commonly 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1).
    3. Type the default gateway into your web browser's address bar.
    4. You may be prompted to login. The default username and password depends on your router model, you
       may be able to find this in the website mentioned earlier or through Google.
    5. Once logged in you will be looking for port or application settings. This area may be labeled
       connection rules, security, gaming or something similar. If you are unable to locate these
       settings, you may be able to Google the information for your router using the manufacturer and
       model information.
    6. Set port 10800 to forward to your IP (found in step 2) for TCP and UDP.
    7. Save the changes and exit.
    8. Check your port (http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/)
    9. Start hosting and have someone try to connect.
