General FAQ

>What's CO?
Champions Online, an MMO developed by Cryptic of Star Trek Online and Neverwinter.  It is based on the 5th and 6th editions of the Champions role-playing game.

>What's the gameplay like?
Superhero themed third person ground combat, with a massive variety of powers to choose from.

>Is it Free2Play?
Yes.

>Is it Pay2Win?
Pay2Convenience in most cases.  Questionite can be farmed in-game to exchange for Zen, the paid currency used to buy items in the C-Store, and can also be used to buy items from it's own store.  However, Freeform characters are the only thing that could be considered pay2win, as they feature 2 more powers than regular archetypes and also completely free reign on power choice.

>What are Lockboxes and Drifter Salvage?
Lockboxes are gambling items that reward random selections from a pool of items.  Item selection is dependant on the type of lockbox, and almost always contains a Vehicle, costume pieces, special gear, and recently, unique Travel Powers and special Power unlocks.

Drifter Salvage can only be earned by opening Lockboxes.  Salvage can be used in a special store (the Drifter Store, by the Drifter next to the Powerhouse in Renaissance Center) to purchase special costume pieces, vehicles, vehicle weapons, and is involved in exclusive gear.

>What's a Vehicle?
A vehicle is a special type of Become device.  It can be modified with extra weapons, defense and support parts to alter it's behavior and capabilities somewhat.  They come in many varieties and all usually have at least one weapon.

>What is Freeform?
Freeform is the game's bread and butter.  Instead of being limited to the powers that an Archetype provides, a Freeform character has selection of every single power available to players, with some powers being exclusively available to Freeform characters in general.  Freeform characters also gain powers more frequently than Archetypes, and have 2 extra powers overall.
