  1. Vintaro walked back out to the frozen wasteland known as Frostvale. Preferring to read in the light than in his father's house. The Zilanderz walked over to a nearby tree, and pulled out the black book, and braced himself as he opened the thing to where he left off. He sighed softly as he mumbled "Chapter four.."

  3. "The first step to attaining the goal of peace is power. A member of the clan must have a strong body, mind, and spirit. They cannot falter on his beliefs and must see his decisions out through to the end. No matter how many times you are beaten, crushed, broken, defiled, disrespected, or stepped on. Until death you must rise again, shrugging off any and all punishments. Then and only then, will you be destined to change the world."
  4.
  5. Vintaro raised an eyebrow, this was significantly more tame than before. This was good. Sort of like a pep-talk in a book. He didn't see anything wrong with what was written after all, Vintaro was already like that! However, as he continued to read, his stomach began to churn.

  7. "To have too much light or darkness can be blinding. You cannot let either of these cloud your judgement. Also, you must avoid intervening in war at all cost. Do not fight for either side, no matter your feelings, as it will deter you from the mutual path. You may join a military, you may become a scribe, you may converse with criminals, but you may not participate in their affairs! You shall regard yourself as a neutral entity. If not, then you will be forced to commit and watch the atrocities such as..."

  9. Vintaro turned the page and took a moment to vomit onto the cold snow before hi,, making sure none of it landed on his book. Kraus, this was just disturbing! Turning the page, there were paintings of various actions. There was a woman being held down and defiled, while her little daughter was as well, even her young son. There was another image this time of a grown man being tortured, his flesh was apparently being peeled inch by inch, his muscles becoming spaghetti on the ground, while soldiers laughed and used them as flavor in their mead. The list went on and on, such disturbing images, that could make even an occultist squeamish.

  11. Vintaro wanted to look away, but he couldn't. This book, this thing his father left him it was disgusting yet so enticing. It took all he had to turn the next page however, his hands were shaking his legs were quivering, slowly he made his way over to the benches to finish this chapter.

  13. "These things you see before you, you are disgusted yes? These are the things that you will have to observe, do yourself, or succumb to if you enter war. These are the things that the Zilanderz are made to prevent. You may think you would fight to defend against these actions right? if so, then you are wrong. Either side will do the same actions, whether or not the purpose or liege is different. We were given a gift in order to aspire for balance. Only a Zilanderz can complete this task completely as it is in their very being. Their very purpose, their very power! Hear me, my kin. You are special, you are superior to those who would dare commit atrocities or move the world for their own gain! Your master is not yourself, but balance and destruction itself. Do not do things for yourself, nor for others. Only do it to assure...mutual destruction."

  15. Vintaro began to pant lightly at this point, his chest starting to burn from this book's words. The book had once more closed itself, probably for another year, like always. Vintaro wasn't sure what the hell his father was thinking. He was mean't to prevent these actions from happening? His family was the incarnation of balance? There was one thing he did grasp however, he was superior to others. His desires were not his own, but ones of balance. Whatever he willed, it was for the good of the world. Vintaro suddenly grinned devilishly, putting on his black mask as he placed his prized father's book away.

  17. "So..I suppose this should be interesting..."
