01[20:50] <@Lurker> Inside the folders are a series of photographs of an old looking hotel. It's not too far from the site, but taking a helicopter seems like the easiest way. There's a long list of reports of disturbances that seem to happen in small bursts of activity, before going dormant for long periods of time. Lately, however, it's been consistent, and apparently there have been six deaths as a result.

[21:07] <Mr_Wilt> Rolan looks out a window, toward the barricade. "Looks like somebody's beat us to it."

[21:08] <Wombat> "I've seen my share."
[21:08] <Sequence> Eva looks mildly distressed. "Yes...?"

01[21:08] <@Lurker> As Mick talks to the others, the side doors open again, allowing them to get out and hike up to where the police chief is waiting for them at the front of the hotel.

01[21:10] <@Lurker> There's not much area to cover. The entire space from the barricade to the front is largely empty, with the exception of an ambulance that has a few workers near it, and the police chief.

01[21:11] <@Lurker> As they approach, the chief gives a nod. "I was told someone was coming to take a look at this, but hell if that wasn't fast. Captain Williams." He gives a small salute, before gesturing to the ambulance. "That's the victim if you'd like to take a look."

[21:12] <Tox> "Mick Roberson."  He salutes back, then crosses over to the ambulance.
[21:12] <Wombat> "It'd be a good idea, see what we're up against does. Do we have a medic here?"

01[21:13] <@Lurker> Two of the paramedics looks incredibly distressed. Another is trying to comfort them, and the fourth just stares at the group for a few seconds before sighing and opening the door as the two disturbed ones are lead away. There's a body covered by a white cloth on a stretched inside, that's got a mess of red around the head and legs.
[21:15] <Wombat> "Yeesh." Ryan inhales through his teeth. "What happened to him?"
[21:15] <Tox> "Let's find out."  Roberson lifts the shete.

01[21:16] <@Lurker> Mick is greeted with a corpse that's face has been completely stripped of flesh, with bits of muscle seemingly 'chewed' at. The eyes are missing as well, and the jaw has been broken and wrenched to the side in a grotesque fashion.

[21:16] <Sequence> Eva puts a hand over her mouth and looks distinctly ill.

We're not sure what the hell is going on in there, but we've shut the hotel down. This guy's an urban explorer, or ghost hunter or something. His camera got destroyed, though. Nothing useful."

01[21:28] <@Lurker> The lobby is a large, open space with a chandelier hanging from the ceiling, a simple reception desk, two hallways leading down past the reception, elevators to the left, and a stairwell to the right. There is nothing particularly interesting about the lobby that anyone can tell.

01[23:54] <@Lurker> Except that it disappears and the orb flashes red for a moment before going dormant.
[23:55] <Mr_Wilt> Nolan jumps a bit as the orb flashes red.
[23:55] <Tox|Laptop> "...Or not.  The orb seems to manifest it.  Fuck, makes it easier to carry.  Alright, we're out."
[23:55] <&Daedalize> Sigrun regroups with the others.
[23:56] <&Daedalize> <<He had nothing but the knife.>>
01[23:56] <@Lurker> The chopper is still outside, waiting for them, and starting to warm up the engines.
[23:57] <Mr_Wilt> Nolan, orb in hand, begins his descent down the stairs.
[23:57] <Sequence> Eva follows, still confused.
[23:58] <Tox|Laptop> On their way out, Mick stops by the police captain and salutes.  "Area's clear, Captain."
01[23:58] <@Lurker> The Police Chief nods and salutes back. "Thank you. We'll get set to cleaning this place up."
[23:58] <&Daedalize> Sigrun holsters her gun, putting the safety back on.
[23:59] <Tox|Laptop> "Yessir."
[23:59] <Tox|Laptop> Mick turns on his heel and boards the chopper.
[23:59] <~Salmander> Gaston gets on the chopper
[23:59] <Sequence> Eva troops afterwards, confusion mounting into irritation.
[00:00] <Mr_Wilt> Nolan follows after, once again boarding a seat in the back. "So, who do I give this to?"
[00:00] <Tox|Laptop> "Give it to Research once we get back."
[00:00] <Sequence> Eva sits in a corner and absolutely doesn't pout.
[00:01] <&Daedalize> "I am most intrigued."
[00:01] <&Daedalize> Sigrun stares at the orb with a gleeful expression.
[00:01] <Mr_Wilt> "Too bad I wasn't able to control that thing, but hey, guess we can't all be magical."
[00:01] <Tox|Laptop> "Is there something, Eva?"  Mick looks over, head tilted.
[00:02] <&Daedalize> "It may simply be a matter of learning to control it. In ze right hands, it could be a powerful veapon."
[00:02] <Sequence> "Nobody is explaining anything to me! I sat down there with Gaston and when you called us up I asked you and you /still/ haven't answered! I'm irritated and I'm still kind of freaked out from that hotel."
[00:03] <&Daedalize> Sigrun looks at her, raising an eyebrow. "Zere was a man and a beast. Ze man died, his tool is captured, and ze beast vanished back into ze orb."
[00:03] <Tox|Laptop> "Sorry."  Mick looks sheepish.  "I called you up so that the entire team would be in one place for exfil, and not scattered.  We engaged and subdued a paranormal entity."
[00:03] <Tox|Laptop> "I put you and Gaston at the door in case something bad happened and something burst out."
[00:03] <Sequence> Eva sighs, and pinches the bridge of her nose. "Thank you both for explaining. Was anyone hurt?"
[00:04] <Mr_Wilt> "Nobody but the man."
[00:04] <Tox|Laptop> "He suicided."
[00:04] <&Daedalize> "He had a blade, and slit his own throat to avoid capture."
[00:04] <Sequence> "Alright. Okay."
[00:07] <Mr_Wilt> "Oh, that reminds me. I never got to properly introduce myself."
[00:07] <Sequence> She raises an eyebrow.
[00:08] <Mr_Wilt> "I'm Nolan Patton, but you can just call me Nolan."
[00:08] <@Lurker> The rest of the ride back to the site is uneventful, and upon arrival, the gasmask wearing man meets up with Mick to take the orb, along with two researchers and another agent. He nods, gives a brief salute. Then heads off.
