1. A quick explanation of the list.
2. A card which is Forbidden/Banned may not be included in a deck.
3. A card which is Limited may have only 1 copy included in a deck.
4. A card which is Semi-Limited may have up to 2 copies included in a deck.
5.
6. With general bans, such as whole archetypes, this largely refers to decks which are that archetype only; splashing a few cards from an archetype here or there probably won't break anything.
7. Please be advised that the administration reserves the right to ask you to drop or modify a deck. If you think this right is being abused, come and talk to me. The point here is to make things fun; if one deck is just curbstomping everything, it's going to get boring for everyone, including the person running it. If you want to haggle a point with me, feel free. Banlists have been changed over less.
8. Bear in mind that this banlist is for the player characters; NPC villains controlled by staff may be using cards on this list, because what YGO villain didn't use complete horseshit cards?
9.
10. The following decks are banned:
11.
12. Bujin. Unfortunately, even without Crane, their newer support is kind of amazing and makes them very hard to play against for most RP decks. If only.
13. Burning Abyss. Sadly, at the moment, they're way too good as a Rank 3 archetype.
14. Fire Fists. "Rush ALL THE THINGS!"
15. FTK/OTK/Lock decks. Yes, I know it happened in the anime a few times, but it's very boring to try and RP against - and do you really want to write out the entirity of an FTK hand?
16. Harpies. It's either this, or everyone starts siding Cloak & Dagger.
17. Ghostricks. As much as we all like them, they're honestly really boring to play against, and they shut down a lot of decks that would otherwise be fun.
18. Mermail. These are actually currently going out of style, but for now they're off-limits.
19. Satellaknights. Because we really need LIGHT!Warrior!Blackfeathers all over again.
20. Shadoll. As really cool as these cards are, they also completely shut down most decks, so they're out.
21. Quiz. Yes, I'm banning the Quiz archetype. Yes, the new support is ridiculous. Yes, I feel ashamed.
22.
23.
24. The following decks (meaning decks which are largely pure iterations of this archetype) are banned in conjunction with specific cards:
25.
26. Dark World, with Dragged Down to the Grave.
27. Hieratics, with Gaia Dragon the Thunder Charger.
28. Any deck except Artifacts, with Theosophy of the Artifacts.
29. Any deck except Sacred Beasts, with Lost Paradise.
30. Any deck except Toons, with Toon Kingdom.
31.
32. The following cards are banned:
33.
34. Apple of Enlightenment. There are a lot of decks this card could be really good in, most notably Artifacts.
35. Beast Burial Ritual. Beasts really don't need help to plus hard.
36. Chaos Blast. Machines do not need SUPER Foolish w/nuke.
37. Convert Ghost. I like Kikoutei too, but effectively-free Herald of Perfection isn't very legit.
38. Cursed Twin Doll. This one isn't so much because the effect is broken, but because I don't want to have to adjuciate arguments over it, because it's a fucking weird card. Anything you could use it for is super degenerate anyway.
39. D-Force. It's possible to set D-Force up on top of the opponent's deck, preventing them from drawing cards.
40. Destiny Overlay. If this was a Trap card, it would actually be okay, but as a spell, it has serious Potential(TM).
41. Evilswarm Ophion. Why yes, I would like to lock your field and tutor my rape-tier backrow.
42. Gimmick Box. This is designed to work with Gimmick Puppets, and Gimmick Puppets extra don't need a defensive play that sets up their Xyz monsters.
43. Infinity Force. Even as a gimmick play, defensive Raigeki isn't happening.
44. Last Question. Heads, I win; tails, you lose.
45. Persona Shutter Layer 2. Read the card. Now read it again and pretend it isn't OP as shit.
46. Number 62: Prime Photon Dragon. I'm somewhat on the fence about this card, but it's been amazing in every RP I've ever seen it played in, so for now it's out.
47. Raigeki. Rly.jpeg
48. Sad Story - Atrocious Day. Sorry, no SUPER Decree for you.
49. Shining Sly. Guess what 99% of cards aren't immune to? Being Tributed.
50. The Soul-Binding Gate. "I hope you didn't plan on summoning monsters~!"
51. Zen Garden. This is less about it completely hosing WATER decks and more about the pump it gives to Plant decks, which really don't need it.
52.
53. The following cards are Limited:
54.
55. Big Return. This card is secretly amazing.
56. Power Wall. You know what isn't happening @3? SUPER MILL that is also damage reduction.
57.
58. The following cards are Semi-Limited:
59.
60. The Necloth of Trishula. It's less consistent than Trish, but it's still Trish. Probation.
