Mrs. Mills,

I am not sure if I am both mentally nor physically ready for Sounds. I’ve listened to the songs, tried to learn them, and I just don’t understand any of them but Thriller. Practice tracks are not the way I learn, therefore I will not be prepared for Sounds 2015-2016. I’m having trouble wanting to learn the songs in the first place. I do not think I’m going to be enjoying my Junior year Sounds class based on the fact that I don’t really have a strong connection with anyone.

I’m not sure what my options are though because I’ve taken a look at the roster and there’s no Juniors or Seniors that can take my place as a Tenor. I am willing to learn the songs and spend the year in the class, but you’re going to have to understand that I just cannot learn via practice tracks. I just cannot comprehend them.

I need help on deciding what to do about choir my Junior year. I still want to be in choir and I want to audition for All-State, but I’m not prepared for the first day of class, let alone the Freshman Orientation day.
