  2. DAIMYO NAME: Akakawatani Nobuyuki
  3. CLAN: The Akakawatani is one of the numerous clans of 16th century Japan, with a number of samurai and Ashigaru in their employ. The current head of the clan, Daimyo Nobuyuki, seeks to restore his clan to the glory it once held before its crushing defeat in the Ōnin War, where its lands were razed and seized as the then Daimyo sat in a siege in Aki. Now, finally able to marshal but a fraction of their old strength, they seek to rebuild, and to take vengeance on those who betrayed them.
  4. BACKGROUND: Raised in a castle from the young age, and taught in the ways of politics and intrigue by his father, Akakawatani Nobu. He was sent to Edo at the age of 15, where he met a friend he would cherish for the rest of his life. This bear of a man, the same age as Nobuyuki , hailed from a far off land known as "Scotland" and when he talked, it sounded like a cannonade going off. There time in Edo was spent as guards for Nobuyuki's two sisters, in the city for a courting event with a southern clan, which promised to bring much wealth to the family, along with a few political ones as well. Unfortunately, a rival clan which desired the southern clan's male for their own daughter sought fit to kill the other women in the Heir's life. It was a daring attack in broad daylight as the young lady went to a supposed rendezvous with the young lordling, only to be beset on all sides by a group of ronin payed to end her life. In the end, the household guards were slaughtered to a man, with only Nobuyuki and the Scotsman still standing. The ronin laid dead in the streets, and due to the nature of the attack, Nobuyuki's father saw fit to recall his children from the city, he'd rather risk offending the southern clan then having no children to offer any clan. This was Nobuyuki's first taste of violence, but it would not be his last. Devils from the North, the Nanban barbarians, desired what little wealth the Akakawatani clan possessed, and for much of Nobuyuki's early 20's, he was fighting the savages side by side with his father, until the fateful day he died, not by the barbarians, but by the errant shot of a Clan Yabusame. Now we stand poised at the current date, Nobuyuki only taking the title of Daimyo a few months ago, and the country tetters on the brink of civil war. With his trusty friend known only as "The Scotsman" and his loyal followers by his side, he knows that his clan shall make it through these trying times, and who knows, maybe Nippon could benefit from a Akakawatani Shogunate.
