- International Action Against #Capitalism -- August 18th
- We're asking you to dedicate at least a portion of your day to fight capitalism.
- What is capitalism you may ask...
- It's the owners of this system taking our profits. We work day after day to create the world we live in, but the profits belong to them? No, you deserve to VOTE as to how the profits of your labor is appropriated. DO NOT GIVE UP YOUR VOTE. When they invest into our work, they deserve a return on their investment. They even deserve interest on their investment because they risked their money, but, they do not deserve an infinite interest we are not their slaves. We will not scrape the floor for crumbs while we cook them their meal. They will not benefit from our labor. You deserve the profits of your labor and their pathetic excuse of a WAGE isn't a reason to give up your vote. NO VOTE, NO WORK.
- Fortunately, there's advocates out there fighting against capitalism. There's the Industrial Workers of the World and International Cooperatives Association, among many others, but now, it's time for us to stand together and do our part.
- 1. TAKE OVER THE PUBLIC SPACE, like #gezipark, where they're demonstrating the interests of the people. Come out of the prisons they call homes, these are houses; the planet is your home. Walk away from the advertisements and the media corporations that don't serve our interests, but only serve to maintain the profits of their system. Build infoshops and workshops in a public space, tell your brothers and sisters why they deserve their profits. Describe to them the difference between a workers cooperative and the THEFT of capitalist businesses. Use paint to decorate our streets with the message of resistance. Wave your flag high and smile in the face of the police brutality when they come into our streets. They're only there because the owners of their system have paid to protect their profits.
- 2. SUPPORT YOUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS by making sure they can maintain the resistance in the public space. Bring them food, water, blankets, clothes, gas masks, printed material, music, shelter, and love. We need communication and support to be a full-time resistance. We need to fight their system of scarcity with our system of abundance. We need to feel we have a home, such that, when they threaten to take away our jobs, we can tell ourselves and our brothers and sisters that the owners have more to lose than us because we will have a place to go and eat and be safe and keep fighting against the abuses of capitalism.
- 3. CHANGE THE CONVERSATION by talking about #capitalism. The media changes the conversation every day for their advertisers and their ratings. That's not us. Their intention is to take our money by distracting us from oppression, our intention is to support the conversation of oppression. Weather it's an email to organization for support, a tweet against #capitalism, distributing a zine, or a pirate radio station; we need to stay on topic. EACH AND EVERY DAY. At least once a day, if not more, talk about capitalism. A constant resistance against a constant oppression. For each day you work for the profits of your owner, for each dollar they use of your money to bribe the politicians to abuse you, remember, this is your revolution.
- And when they don't televise it, let it be a reminder that they fear us. And when they tell us the public space isn't for us, let their weapons remind us who owns it. And when they beat us to the ground, let us raise our hand into the air because a brother or sister will be there to pull you to your feet.
