  8. Buying patches is a bit trickier than stickers, there are a wide variety of websites that sell patches and most of them you'll never find until you search for the one type of patch that they sell. Googling the patch you want can produce excellent results, but remember to keep it general. You'll have a much easier time looking for "Neon Genesis Evangelion patch" than "Asuka Langley patch", especially if the character you're looking up has an eyepatch, that shit can get annoying fast.

  10. Custom patches are a lot tricker than custom stickers. On one hand there are several dozen website that will take orders for custom patches, but they're treated much closer to art commissions than stickers jobs are. Unlike custom printed stickers, a custom patch run will cost a few dollars per patch on average, and are almost exclusively available in bulk. I don't have any more advice for custom patches, as I have yet to find a reason to have one made.

  12. One last thing to remember when looking for patches is to make sure they have a velcro backing and not the iron on stuff. You can always cut out and glue on your own backing, but without sewing they can be very fragile and peel off quite easily. I have two patches that I've glued and have stuck on my laptop 24/7, and they have yet to show signs of peeling. However a third patch I was attemping to glue velcro on refused to stay attached and would peel off with very little force. It's alltogether an easier experience to order patches with the velcro already in place.
