  1. Alright , so yesterday I got certified into a division in the LSPD known as " Air Support Unit (ASU). The leader Michael Bailey certified another officer and I to fly the department helicopters. He said he was going to notify FAA and send them a application regarding the other officer and my certification. I asked " so can we fly now " he said yes. He even told me all the procedures and where to post the Helicopter Logs. He basically told me that it was fine to go ahead and to use the helicopters and go on patrol. So I was like alright sounds good. He was also fully aware that I was about to use the helicopter meaning actually fly it. I have two witnesses stating that he said I can go ahead and fly. After patrolling for 2 hours or so the FAA called in the department radio asking if Highway Patrol or Police Department had any helicopters on patrol. I responded saying yes. Afterwards they asked me for the name of the pilot so I gave it to them. Apparently I didn't have the Pilot Notes in my mdc since Bailey didn't notify FAA yet. They told me to land my helicopter immediately. I explained to my superior officers that I was told by the Air Support Unit leader that I could fly. Then a few FAA Agents and the LSPD High Command Team came into a office to discuss the issue. I told them that I had no idea and no criminal intent to fly the helicopter without a license. I trusted my ASU Leader saying he was going to notify FAA. Eventually I got arrested even though some of the FAA members said it was a misunderstanding since I didn't know if it was in my mdc or not , but the leader overruled it and had me arrested for Flying A Aircraft Without A License and some other reason pertaining to radio communication. So that was basically it. Now I am in SADC waiting for my trial , but also my superior officers were frustrated with bailey and had him removed from being the Leader Of ASU.
