  1. SvFoE - Pity for Ludo
  2. A requested greentext story for /sveg/
  3.
  4. Request: Ludo bribes/pities Buff Frog into helping him rebuild his castle.
  5.
  6. >The cold wind blows softly over an almost barren landscape.
  7. >Besides a large crater where a certain evil castle once stood, sits an imaginary home made from nothing but a single door, a log serving as a couch, and a large water fountain.
  8. >Inhabiting this fountain where dozens of small squirming tadpoles, who were all gazing over their large, greyish, perantal figure.
  9. >A frog like monster by the simple name of Buff Frog, who dotted on these tadpoles lovingly and who was currently reading a stolen children's book to his adoptive children.
  10. >One by one the little tadpoles fell asleep and shut their eyes as their father tucked them into their watery bed.
  11. >He planted a small kiss on each ones forehead. Two for the very smallest. And he set the book down and turned away to prepare for bed himself.
  12. >Suddenly, a knock came from the door, prompting Buff Frog to wonder who it could possibly be at this hour.
  13. >Opening the door, he found the sudden visitor to actually be his old master/boss, Ludo.
  14. >Only this wasn't the Ludo Buff Frog was used to seeing.
  15. >For one, this Ludo no longer looked commanding and crazed. Only tired, beaten, humble, and shivering from the wind.
  16. >Buff Frog could see that he wasn't even wearing his signature robes and skull helmet. But the very same egg shell that Ludo had hatched from the same day his castle was destroyed.
  17. >Most striking however, was the fact that Ludo was gazing up at Buff Frog with the saddest, most miserable look imaginable.
  18. >"Listen." Ludo said after a long moment of awkward silence.
  19. >"I've had some time to do a lot of thinking. And I've come to realize that... It's taken me loosing everything I ever owned to see what I've truly lost."
  20. >"And that is a loyal and superb minion that had always been by my side no matter how commanding and overbearing I was."
  21. "One who never truly questioned my orders or ever betrayed the little trust I put into him."
  22. >"And who always performed the smallest commands, no matter how small, demeaning, or dangerous they were."
  23. >"And who would tolerate all humiliation thrown their way and take their beatings with dignity."
  24. >"And who always knew what temperature I liked my soup at."
  25. >"And fluffed my fuzzy slippers in just the right way."
  26. >"And who'd take all the brunt of damage when fighting a certain blonde haired, blue eyed, annoying princess that simply wouldn't give in and just let me have what I wante-"
  27. >Bruff Frog loudly cleared his throat, gaining back the attention of the rambling Ludo.
  28. >After regaining focus, Ludo proceeded to clear his own throat before speaking again.
  29. >"The point is... I don't deserve to ask you for anything. Not with how I've mistreated you."
  30. >"But I literally have nothing now. Not even the clothes on my back. And right now I'm desperate for any help I can get."
  31. >"Otherwise... I'm afraid I won't make it out in the cold cruel world."
  32. >Ludo gazed up pleadingly at Buff Frog, who stared down on him with a blank stare.
  33. >Then, in quick fashion. Buff Frog slamed the door in Ludo's face and turned away while wiping his hands together.
  34. >Walking back to the fountain where his children slept. Buff Frog sat next to it and watched the small quivering of his children.
  35. >It wasn't long ago that Ludo himself had given him these tadpoles. True, they were ment as a bribe then.
  36. >But Buff Frog could still remember the joy he felt when he received them.
  37. >"No." Buff Frog said to himself.
  38. >"Ludo does not deserve my sympathies."
  39. >But after awhile, Buff Frog couldn't help but think back on old times.
  40. >Reaching into his tunic, Buff Frog pulled out an old photograph.
  41. >It was a picture of a younger Ludo (one who once had a terrible mullet) and all the small baby monsters that Ludo had adopted and taken off the streets.
  42. >The baby monsters, who were all taller than Ludo, gazed happily down at him and he in turned gazed lovingly up at them.
  43. >Buff Frog smiled to himself, remembering a time when things seemed simple. A time before Ludo even wanted the wand of Mewni to begin with.
  44. >He looked up from the picture at his children. Who slept with innocent smiles.
  45.
  46. >Elsewhere, Ludo lay in the dirt with a large rock crushing his head.
  47. >It was his only form of protection from the sudden rain that fell in a large down pour.
  48. >Ludo closed his eyes, accepting the new life that he found himself in. Submitting himself to the cold rain and the crushing force of the rock.
  49. >A little time passed and suddenly the weight of the rock on his head began to lessen and the wet feel of the rain vanished.
  50. >The sound of stones tapping against each other caused Ludo to open his eyes and when he did, he saw that a pile of rocks had been stacked over and around him.
  51. >Poking his head out of the only opening, Ludo could see Buff Frog sitting next to this makeshift hovel. Adding rocks to cover any large gaps.
  52. >Ludo said nothing as Buff Frog continued his work. He simply smiled and layed his head down on the ground.
  53. >Happy that he now had a place to sleep.
  54.
  55. >Buff Frog finished building a small stone hovel over Ludo.
  56. >He had used the very same rock that had once made up Ludo's castle.
  57. >After he was done, he sat there and gazed off into the distance. The rain not bothering him one bit.
  58. >Thinking to himself, Buff Frog thought that this small stone hovel was nothing compared to the castle it once was.
  59. >But he supposed, that by time it could be.
  60. >And that this was just the beginning of a long rebuilding process.
  61. >END
