This is a dump of ideas for my app to keep my things straight.
<p>
Dark world, though not bleak with horror elements. Take place in the early 1900's with the character being a detective with his roots in Rouen, France. As an eastern dragon in a European country he comes off a bit odd in his ways of thinking but it makes him popular for the bizarre cases that he takes.

Leon gets a case from a well off and intelligent man clad in black. Well spoken and convincing with his farce, Leon takes the case though is not completely certain of intent. It was to find a series of books, the contents he was never told.  Along the way he meets a number of interesting folk. A vulgar and vengeful woman that fuses with beasts, a doll made human by the love of her master, a silly and light-hearted thief and a vampire that loves hot dogs and baseball. In his search for these books he learns the true nature of their content.

They are together called the Delta Sea. Leon opens them finally and comes to see nothing is written in them. Furthermore he learns the Delta Sea is a location where reality is built. The world is constructed like a program, lines and lines incomprehensible information made real in a sea of black water that extends forever. Leon realizes he has seen this sea, he had almost been crushed in its depths and when he emerged he had felt death on his wings since. He tells them that the Delta Sea is not made of water, it is like water in how it flows, it crushes like water at its depths but it is not. When he felt the calm before death fall on him he had opened his eyes and before him were what he could only perceive to be words, not in any language known to man but there were strings of them, numerous and alive.

After learning the truth Leon calls the man back to tell him that what he asked him to do was done. When he meets the man again he does not ask for his payment. He asks for his reasons behind the need for the tomes, and what purpose empty pages serve. Instead of money, he wanted answers.

The man called himself Razor in the beginning but when Leon asked for answers he gave him his name. Reginald. He tells him the books serve as a tool to compress the vastness of all the worlds truth. Everything that is the world, and even the very ideas we harbor of another world, heaven and h<i></i>ell, all of it was created in the Delta Sea. He tells Leon that he knows of his demon, a construct born from his fall into the sea. His reality was altered and that was why he sought him out. He wanted to speak with him, speak to someone who has also seen the sea.

Leon is suddenly gripped with pain as his shadow glows ominously. The pink aura burns lines across his warping shadow and writhing in agony with him is something more. That darkness on his wings, the beast from his childhood. It emerges screaming, clawing it's way from the depths, inky black shadow burning away from it's deformed face. Leon is horrified to finally see what has always been with him.
</p><p>
Reginald held some sort of mystic powers and pulled from Leon, his monster. It opened an eye, red and enlarged and from its puddle it reached for Reginald, desperate for his throat. It hissed and groaned but Reginald's powers swelled and brought both Leon and beast to their knees. He continued to speak. Those books would allow him to rewrite the worlds truths. As it was anything in reality could not effect the Delta Sea directly. Save these tomes crafted from the abyss. Much like any good villain he tells him, that he will not k<i></i>ill him because in him he finds something peaceful. Instead he tells him that the three tome each represent a layer of the Delta Sea. One is our reality, one is the reality of Azuritah, what many call heaven and the last is the reality of Astride, what many call h<i></i>ell. He was going to inscribe all realities within these tomes and then rewrite them. In the end he would achieve his perfect world.

Leon passed out shortly after. Before all went black, the last things he saw was Reginald leaving - the beast bellowing and clamoring towards the door with fangs bared. Before it could get a taste of flesh it fell apart like mud in mid air, splattering against the wall and door.
</p><p>
Leon awoke among his friends who told him he had been passed out for several weeks. Among the crowd of familiars was one face unknown. His skin was dark as night, his hair sleek with an eerie sheen. Leon noted goat like eyes but most of all horns that looked cra<i></i>cked and broken with veins. Before anyone else could introduce the man, he said to Leon he was called Nafar. Leon was surprised for he thought he couldn't speak but there was familiarity with him. Nafar continued, saying that he had known Leon since he was a child and has protected him ever since.
</p><p>
The others were confused but Leon knew. Nafar was the construct born in the Delta Sea. It had a peaceful aura to it, but this was new for Leon. He had only ever known the evil it exuded, the source of so much misery for him. The savage young woman among them quickly cuts the conversation short. She had a thirst for revenge and it was now time for her to collect on it. Razor was her prey, the beast that burdened her back for so many years.
Leon pried and eventually was told the story of his campaign.

She was from Leon's homelands and it was there her curse began. Her clan had been hunters of demons (which he now understood to be occupants of the Delta Sea that crossed over). They protected villages in older times and one fateful day they met a demon like no other. It ravaged her lineage down to one. She slayed the beast but it's malice was so strong that it laid waste to her soul. It's ill intent to destroy devoured her heart over time and without fail drove her insane. This curse would be pased down to each child in the family, cursing the entire lineage.
</p><p>
Leon and his crew fell silent but Mai would not have pity.  Ritually she cleansed her soul, purifying it by calming the beasts and taking them into her. From the Delta Sea that overlapped human thought she would form them, pull them directly from that abyss of malice she absorbed in her soul and it was there she fought for survival. If victorious she cleaned and won back her soul, if she lost there would be nothing left of her. She tells them this for it would be the basis of her tragedy. Razor was the monster that stole her life from her. He had driven her family insane, hunted and locked them up like animals to be used in his experiments. Those tome they collected were the creations of her family members who had be driven mad with torture. The reason those tomes can alter reality is because they are made from the Delta Sea itself. What would be written in them would be as good as altering the Delta Sea itself. It's the one way for humans to interact with the sea directly without the intimate knowledge that someone like herself, a harmonizer, would have. Or in the rare case, someone like Leon whose dragonic origins might have helped him tap into the thin membrane between the human conscious and the sea.<br>

With all this information Leon takes a few days to recover and think on this. Reginalds actions as a cruel man had come to light but in that he found a sincerity, an honesty in his want to rebuild the world. Leon thought long and hard for those days and his first course of action was to learn more about his enemy and how those tomes work. The qu<i></i>eer vampire, Keith, told them he might know a guy that could tell them more. He lived far however, back in his country of Romania.
</p><p>
From here they travel from place to place, learning what they can of the Delta Sea and the Tomes. They figured Reginald is ahead of them in terms of knowledge but they find out soon that he too is searching for something. That something turns into someone eventually and it's a race against time to find who it is. Eventually they come across an old man who they learn is an inhabitant of Azuritah, a part of the Delta Sea. After many antics with the old fool and all his games, they find out from him that those tomes can only do so much. What is written in them will only partially come to pass. Though made from the sea they are still apart of our reality and therefore still can not change the universal truths. He suspects that Reginald has figured that much out and has been doing his own research on how to truly make his dream reality.
</p><p>
Leon and the crew are stuck for the time being and go their separate ways for the most part, all going to gather what information they can. Mai however stays with Leon and accompanies him on his cases with Nafar. She teaches him how to keep control of Nafar and he teaches her how to control her temper. Through many cases Leon comes across one particular one that starts a chain of Delta Sea related cases. Of monsters and creatures that crossed from their reality to ours, our like Nafar, were brought over by a human falling in.

A year passes and the crew is back together and they all speak of what they found out. The conclusion is that in order to alter reality you'd have to be in the Delta Sea. However the pressure could k<i></i>ill anyone not tuned to it and unlike the other realities, the sea itself has no inhabitants that live there. So with new information they speculate the only way to alter reality is to first destroy it. Tear it down and start anew. A god's work. The tomes give him access to alter the reality he sees but it can not be deemed a universal truth for all. He would summon a god to dump into the sea whose alien mind would rip our reality asunder and plunge human kind back into primordial waters from there he'd sacrifice himself to be the new basis of his reality.

That last part is iffy.
I'll figure out more later but as for Reginald he does what he does out of love. Both brotherly and more. An orphan during a terrible time, he and many other children who held some form of supernatural powers were experimented on and kept locked in an orphanage by a cult that worshipped a god they called Azuritah. The base<i></i>ment was a source of nightmares. His friend was not meant to be there but his parents were highly intelligent but controversial poli<i></i>tical figures. They were as<i></i>sas<i></i>sinated and he was thrown into the orphanage. They quickly became close and Reginald swore to the younger one that they would leave together. It was a very rough few years for them but eventually a kindly old man would adopt them both as Reginald would not leave his friend and vice versa. He was nothing but kind to them but Reginald could not trust him. In his world it was only his friend who he loved as family and much more. When his friend refused to run away with him he became enraged. In a fit of passion, he burned the house down with both the kindly man and his friend inside.
</p><p>
Rage turned to agony. Mad with grief he turned to the orphanage again. He slayed all the men that had done wrong by him and free'd the children to whatever fate awaited them. He slept in his old room, sobbing and for days refused to leave for food or water. It was by chance that the moments before he could slip away in death he remembered the old experiments. This world had been cruel to him but it did not have to remain a hateful place. If this reality was so bleak he would change it. He took the time to recover and set onwards to discover the means to create a better world.

When I apply for pets I always find myself at a loss for words. How do I convey to the owner that this character has growth beyond what is here. For a foster to give up their pet they have to feel that at the end of the app, the owner can live up to their claims. My goal in apps was to never actually say what should be shown. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. To that extent i'd like to speak some more about the future. Leon's story with Reginald was a single chapter in this ongoing life of his. The danger of having characters older than dirt stems from what are they doing all this time. There is a lot of down time for Leon but his story continues on. Leon's character is meant to continue on after his story. Leon is ageless, he has lived a long life and has much more of it to go.
<p>
After the trials of his past with Reginald are settled, Leon along with the others creates what is called The District. Nestled into a pocket space between reality and The Delta Sea, they recruit others to protect their reality. As time goes on Leon is the only one left. All his friends are gone and at least with Mai's lineage he's called Un*cle. Close with the family he finds himself in need of their support more so emotionally than anything else.
<p>
Eventually The District changes management and many of the supernaturals either lose their positions or are laid off. The place becomes run by humans who have spent so long fighting supernatural creatures that constructs from the Delta Sea and the supernaturals native to their reality are one and the same. The fear and prej<i></i>udices that plagued Leon at work didn't hamper him any at all. Time had made Leon somewhat of a grouch and even more stubborn than normal. He had become use to a somewhat mundane life. Being no more than a mail boy and forced to stay out of the field unless someone was feeling particularly lazy. He was fine with this lifestyle. However it made him rather unwilling to help anyone else. The idea was that it was out of the way to put himself out for others.

But Leon is a fool to think he could ignore the part of him that saved the world once. Leon likes to say that it's putting him out to help others, that it's inconvenient and out of his way all the while he's going out of his way to help as much as he can. I have a number of stories planned here for Leon and Nafar. Short things here and there till I work them up for another case. Maybe I can let Leon finally rest.
<p>
Maybe he'll find love, have a kid and settle down. Maybe he will meet his end. There's all sorts of things left for Leon. With a fantastic RP buddy the possibilities are endless. Which is what I have. Unfortunately she is no longer on neopets but that doesn't stop us at all. We talk and RP everyday. We have something shy of 50 roleplays started, one on going for the last 10 years. I met her on neopets a decade ago and we have been the best of friends since then. My characters find life with her and the constant evolving and changing is a product of her. If not for her, if not for me meeting this wonderful lady I know without a doubt I would not be who I am. I would have given up character creation and the creation process entirely. Having Leon on neopets gives me even more push to expand him and his character, even with off neo roleplaying I want to share the fruits of those RPs with others be it with a petpage, BCing or otherwise.
