The day the world changed was marked not with a bang, nor a whimper, but with silence. Or at least nothing that anyone would notice. But nevertheless, it happened, as seven crystals, each the size of a large apple, appeared in hidden places across the world.

They weren’t the only things that appeared, though. Somewhere deep under the surface, somewhere in Japan, a massive library willed itself into existence. The librarian, a young man with waist-length blond hair, glasses and a well-pressed green suit looked up from his desk.

“Well that was… strange.”
