Zombie Story

Once, there was a woman named Atey. She had come from a poor family and had little to her name. One day, while she was working the fields, a patrolling knight spotted her. He was instantly awestruck by her beauty, and she was in his thoughts for the rest of the day. The next day, he spotted her again, and the day after that, and so on.

Several days had passed, and Atey had to go to the bazaar to purchase some new gardening tools. Unfortunately, the prices on the tools had risen, and she could not afford them. The knight spotted her plight, and bought her tools for her. The knight introduced himself as Gahl, and the two instantly fell in love with each other. As the weeks passed, Gahl would help Atey in his free time, and Atey would teach Gahl how to work the fields.

Suddenly, Gahl was struck by illness, and Atey tended to him with whatever remedies she could make or buy. Her efforts were in vain, and Gahl succumbed to his sickness before the weeks' end. Everyone that Gahl and Atey knew attended the funeral, though it was Atey who grieved the most.

Many days had passed since Gahl's death, and Atey was still in mourning. One night, she was awoken by a knock on her door, and a foul stench. She went to the door and found that Gahl had become an Eh'sank, an undead. He beckoned her to follow him. They talked about their time together as they came to his burial site. There was a deep hole were Gahl was once buried, and it did look like he had dug himself out

Gahl suddenly grabbed Atey, and he dove into the hole, taking Atey with him. The ground then moved to bury them both. A guardsman saw this, and, not letting his disbelief take hold of him, called for help. Several more guards came with shovels and swords.

When they dug up his grave, neither Gahl nor Atey could be found.
