Battle Rondo Round 1 -- Saiga vs Allie

Busou Shinki Battle Arena
        Welcome to the Battle Rondo Arena, home of the Busou Shinki Battle Rondo.

        It is a massive stadium with a roof, easily as large as any sports arena and capable of seating thousands of full sized humans in multiple levels. Near the arena floor are numerous large

boxes filled with tiny seats for shinki spectators, as well as private boxes for the Masters of tournament fighters and the fighters themselves who are not actively fighting.
        The arena floor itself is a massive holographic projector, relaying the tournament bouts on an enormous scale. Individual shinki render at close to three meters tall, along with all of the

terrain surrounding them. At this enormous scale, shinki combat can be seen clearly even from the nosebleed section.

        The actual battles take place on a small table in the center of the arena floor. The visualizer here projects the images and battles re-broadcast for stadium viewing by the much larger

holofield.


         The Shinki Stadium! Packed to the brim with various things! Mostly people and chairs though, to be honest. Either way... it's... time for a match of the Battle Rondo~! An announcer

stands off to the side, holding a microphone... which she promptly speaks into!

         "ALRIGHT EVERYONE~! The next match is starting! On the left side, the Artille who goes by the name of Allie! This match is sure to be explosive with her around! And on the right

side, the Grapprap and a veteran of the tournaments; Saiga! With her tremendous strength, Allie is sure to be on the run! Let's give it up for both of these combatants!"

         Allie comes out of her ready room, riding on her Master's shoulder and waving to everyone in the stands! Once she gets close to the table, she leaps off with a brief burst of her weak

boosters, landing nimbly on her pad to lock herself into the system, ready for the battle to come!


OIL RIG
        Standing high above the waves in the middle of an endless sea, this Battle Field is an commercial oil drilling platform. Pipes and equipment crowd the top decks in impossible mazes,

filled with flammable black liquid. Catwalks and steel walls form basic structures and buildings, and the lower decks form a more claustrophobic battle arena than most. It's all scaled to

shinki size. Oil drums and large tanks, processing and drilling equipment, living quarters and control rooms. A large tower looms over it all, with a helicopter landing pad nearby.


This was it. Having been waiting all week, Saiga was practically overflowing with anticipation. For a Shinki that enjoys competative fighting, getting to battle in the Rondo was like a dream.

It was enough excitement that she almost fell off of Tesla's shoulder as they were walking out into the arena.

"Just remember your practice and advice." Once they're at the table she holds her hands up for the shinki to step onto. "She probably fights similar to how you've seen Lunessa fight."

"Don't worry, Master. I'm gonna do us both proud." Once lowered Saiga jumps off her hands, energy flashing briefly as she accesses her Slipway, and lands on the table with an audible

thud thanks to the bulk (as fair as Shinki go at least) of her exoframe-like 'armor'.


         With a flash, Allie equips her own armor, the bright pink Artille armor equipped handily on the girl. It seems like Allie has pulled out all the works, too. She has her submachinegun,

her split dagger, and both her sniper rifle and bombard cannon. Not to mention the micro-missiles that she always has in her attach points.

         "Let's make some pretty explosions, Saiga~!" Allie calls out cheerfully -- before she kneels down, finishing locking into the system as her pad descends down into the Battlefield.

Morphing into the oil rig, Allie seems as if she couldn't be more thrilled at the prospect of where they'd be fighting.

         "...This is the /best battlefield ever/." Allie calls out, quickly snapping down her visor. Waiting for the countdown to begin... and already beginning some initial scanning of the

battlefield through her visor, looking for areas that allow her good view angles -- along with some cover.

Saiga clenchs her fists and half flexes her arms, the larger manipulators mimicing the motion to a degree. The laser surveying unit equipped on her forehead takes a brief stock of the rig

around them, bringing a smirk to her lips. "Oh yeah, now this is my kind of arena." She's nearly as giddy as her opponent is. "Hell yeah, time to give them a real show!"

As soon as the RIDE ON flashes to signal the start Saiga turns and one of the large manipulator arms snaps out to grab an oil barrel off the stack that happened to material next to her. It

dents a little in the clamp-like grip, but not so much it doesn't still go tumbling across the rig when Saiga twists back and flings it in Allie's direction.

         Okay, time to get into position! Allie begins to dash quickly for the nearest cover -- just in time for a barrel to come barreling down on her. As she was focused on getting to her cover,

her evasion is just a few moments too late -- and she gets hit rather hard by that barrel! "A-ack! Hahahah, nice throw!"

         Allie dashes quickly, moving around and then... leaping on top of the oil rig, taking only a half-second to aim... before quickly sending a laser beam firing towards Saiga! It's not aimed

at her, however, but instead...

         Those oil cans that she had just grabbed one from! After the laser impacts with the barrels, it's almost instantaneous what happens next: A rather large explosion, with shrapnel sent

flying in every direction! "Hahahah~! Boom~. How'd you like that, Saiga?!"

The Grapprap wasn't the fastest of Shinki designs when it came to mobility. But that did not mean that the model had slow reflexes as well. Even with that though Saiga barely has the time

to react by turning her body away from the stack and folding back the loader arm on that side to shield her upper body from the blast as the barrels exploded from the shot.

Embers crackle and smoke rolls out across the rig deck from the explosion, flaming bits of barrel clattering against the metal plating. The Visualizer spared no detail of the explosion, much

to the delight of the audience. But the fight couldn't be over that easily, could it?

Of course not. A glow illuminates from within the acrid smoke from the small spotlights mounted atop her exo-frame as Saiga steps out of the dark cloud. The smaller actuator arm reachs

down to pull a chunk of exploded barrel out of the larger machine arm and toss the debris out of the way. "When you said this would be an explosive fight you weren't kidding."

Saiga grins more as her machine-like legs stomp across the deck, looking up toward Allie's perch. "But I did give you fair warning, you're not going to be able to hide at a distance behind

your guns easily! Yaah!" She balled her right hand into a fist and made as if to throw a roundhouse punch.

The right loader-arm winds back and does the same as the motion, pnuematics hissing to throw it's mass into the rigging structure with a heavy blow intended to send Allie's perch toppling

out from under her and crash the other Shinki back to the decks below.

         BOOM~! The sight of the ball of fire and shrapnel is very satisfying, even if it wasn't the end of the battle to do so. Allie didn't stop tracking Saiga that entire time though. A single

explosion wasn't going to stop a heavily-armored Shinki like a Grapprap. "I know you're still in there~. C'mon out~!" Calls out Allie.

         And out Saiga came. And in a big way, too. That scaffolding breaks and sends the building crashing downwards. Luckily for Allie, she had fast enough reflexes that she could

compensate for that! Mostly, at any rate. Unfortunately, it was a high fall, and the momentum of the falling perch sending her impacting with the ground below harder than expected -- to

the point it even left a dent on the ground.

        "Oof~! Hah. True! But I can definitely try!" Allie says quickly, leaping to put the tower between her and Saiga. At first, it would be silent, possibly allowing Saiga a few moments to chase

after Allie. And then... there would be a sound that most Shinki probably dread when they're fighting an artille.

                 FOOMP FOOMP FOOMP FOOMP FOOMP!

         Through the settling dust of the falling tower... several artillery rounds come flying down towards the Grapprap, intent on bombarding Saiga with a mass of small explosions! This, of

course, sends the crowd into an uproar from such a flashy display! And possibly sets much of the oil rig on fire. Oops.

It's a walking artillery platform vs a one shinki wrecking crew. Let's face it, it's a good thing the oil rig is a simulation because there is -not- going to be much left of it at the end.

One scaffolding structure goes toppling down, but unsurprisingly Allie manages to leap off before she's buried in the debris. In fact, it was expected. That is prehaps the most important

thing that Tesla has taught her shinki, the need to anticipate what your enemy might possibly do.

As Allie finds her new perch Saiga crouchs down, wedges the grippers into the deck, and pulls the panel loose. Grabbing the sides of it with the smaller arms that extend over her shoulders,

the Grapprap holds it up over her head, just as the bombardment starts. Several of the shots rain down around her, several slam loudly into the panel she's holding over her head. Under the

cover she stomps through the bombardment to grab onto the tower with the larger loader arms... But instead of tearing this one down, she uses their considerable strength to -climb up- it,

their extended reach covering distance aptly.

The makeshift shield takes a lot of punshiment from the artillery and finally a shot punchs through it to hit the shinki below. There's smoke visible from the impact when Saiga throws the

now worthless panel away, but it did the job. One more heave and she's close enough, the smaller manipulator arms snapping up to try and grab onto one of Allie's limbs and yank her off

the tower.

         Yeah, that oil rig really isn't going to be standing after this is over! Allie... however, was not actually on a new perch, just using the wreckage of her old perch as a shield! Still, getting

yanked over HARD like that was unpleasant, and she landed pretty hard, thanks to the strength of the Grapprap's arms. Still, that her artillery seemed to do so little damage is kind of

disappointing. Siiigh~!

         "Ow~! ... Seems you've forced me to use this, huh?" Allie says, grinning widely towards Saiga from her spot on the ground. And then... she lifts her submachinegun. There wasn't

anything particularly flashy about this, it was just a quick burst of bullets sent flying for the center area of Saiga's body.

         But... that was a distraction. That burst was poorly aimed and not particularly high-damage. But what follows it is likely to not be quite as pleasant, as Allie quickly leaps up to her feet,

leaping towards the Grapprap! She then... quickly brings the two prongs of her hand-blade down towards the joints in Saiga's right, giant arm.

Aiming for the center of mass to try and knock a Grapprap over is something Construction Tyrant expected with their design, that's why she has that extra piece of armor with the yellow

and black warning stripe across it over her chest. Except that wasn't what the gunfire was meant to do at all, so it's kind of a mute point.

Blades dig into the joint and the hydraulics that operate it, sparks flying from the damage as Saiga manages to not yell, but the way her expression scrunches up its clear that she can feel the

damage to the extra limbs. Some could see it as a flaw, but if she didn't feel the arms as she would her own, how would she be able to operate them effectively?

The right loader-arm doesn't come off entirely but it does slump to Saiga's side, the middle joint that Allie brutalized bent at an angle that joint assembly, being primarily a hinge, normally

did not. "Good you're not a chump up close." But Saiga still has the other massive arm, which she moves quickly to try and grab onto Allie before the gunkitty can run back out of melee

range. Then heft her up overhead and slam her back into the metal rig deck.

         Yes! That attack was very successful! A brief look of triumph is visible on Allie's face as she sees that arm slump. That look of triumph disappears rather quickly though, as she is lifted

off of Saiga's armor like a misbehaving kitten. And then she's slammed HARD down onto the ground, the sound of cracking is rather audible from that impact, as the 'tail' of Allie's armor

snaps right off, along with both of her big gun mounts bending in rather unnatural ways.

         "Ow... are you sure you're a construction robot? You hit like a bulldozer." Allie mumbles as she lays on the ground, briefly staring up at Saiga. Though, this time... she doesn't go for

Saiga's face. Instead, the six covers on either of her weapon's mounts open up, the tips of tiny missiles visible on both sides.

         As one can guess, what happens next is fairly straightforward: Saiga gets 12 micromissiles sent flying straight for her at point blank, while Allie takes advantage of the likely-distraction

of trying not to get blasted by them to send herself flying up into the sky, initiating a hover to keep herself out of reach for at least a few moments as she recovers from that powerful hit.

Nearly point blank is too close for Saiga to pull any sort of creative shielding like she did against the artillery. Twelve micromissiles in rapid succession is enough to send the Grapprap

skidding backwards with a metal shriek of her mechanical boots grinding against the deck. It gives Allie more than enough room to zip into the air overhead and get some breathing room.

Smoke rolls away from the smoldering impact points in her armor and into the air as Saiga digs her feet in and hauls herself back to standing. She looks one way, then the other, and notices

one of the drilling machines for the rig. A grin comes to her face as she reachs over to smash the casing open, grabbing the assembly with the smaller manipulators to pull the drill-tipped

length out of the machine.

Then turn back to the fight as she passes it down to her left loader arm, lifts it up drill point forward, and hurtles it towards the hovering gunkitty. "I think it's time I got to the point of this

fight!"

         Okay, Allie knows that Saiga throws things. Throwing things is something she should be expecting! ... And then Saiga goes under the edge of the oil rig. This causes Allie to move,

lowering to get a view on Saiga as she begins to lock on her aiming systems! And then quite suddenly there is a drill sent flying towards her. Even seeing it coming doesn't quite help Allie.

         Unfortunately for Allie, she's just... slightly too slow to evade something like that. Which results in... a drill flying straight into the core of her body. Luckily, it wasn't spinning, or Allie

might be lacking half of her body. As it is, there was a rather deep puncture wound where her stomach would be, normally!

         On the plus side, Allie did not lose her aim. The alarming hum of a laser charging up can be heard again, as her sniper beam angles itself down towards Saiga, tracking several points

on the construction robot. Luckily for Saiga, she has a few seconds to look for cover. Unluckily for Saiga, when the beam fires... it's not JUST a quick shot.

         The screech of the laser flying through the air is sustained, as the pink energy beam fires towards the construction robot, likely blasting THROUGH any cover that Saiga has made use

of... and then the energy beam would roam over her body. The sustained energy goes in an almost question-mark type pattern, moving from it's initial point at around Saiga's stomach... up

and around to her left arm... and then finally making it's way towards her chest and head in an arc. Should it hit directly, that beam likely leaves devestation in it's wake.

That worked! But in the end might not be entirely worth the cost. The lower decks of the oil rig had less space and narrower walkways. Saiga had hoped the infrastructure in itself would

provide some cover, but it's not so as Allie's beam slices it's path through to find her. Which leaves an entirely different question to come to mind.

Why do lasers make things explode even when they hit things that aren't necessarily explosive?

That's what the audience sees more than the actual hit, the resulting explosion from the lower levels of the oil rig. And then the lumbering form of the Grapprap as she hauls herself back

onto the main platform. That armor that was covering her chest has been blown apart, and by the smoke hissing from it the heavy casing around the machinery of the loader arm is the only

thing that prevented it from becoming like its right mate. If that laser had hit the joint, it might of been all over. With a grunt Saiga reached up with one normal hand to grab the damaged

survey unit and pull it off, throwing it away. Hmm. There's still the whole matter of -reaching- Allie. Or was there?

Metal wrenching groans can be heard as Saiga turns and grabs onto one of the cranes used to heave loads of barrels or other heavy machinery onto the platform with the working power

loader arm. As the boom arm starts to break free she reachs up with the two smaller actuator arms in place of the damaged one to steady it.

And swung the whole thing like a massive club towards the gunkitty shinki. "Batter Up!"

         "A-are you serious?! Y-you're actually usi--ack!" The look on Allie's face is a mixture of surprise and incredulousness as the grapprap LIFTS A CRANE AND SWINGS IT AT HER. Even

flying to get out of the way didn't work -- especially since her flight systems were not designed for prolonged flight like this, more quick jumps... her air control was mostly just slow

hovering!

         And the 'baseball bat' impacts with Allie, sending her flying off into the distance -- until she hits one of the inconspicuous cliffs off in the distance. When the Shinki hits the water

below, it seems as if the battle might be over! Really, with the damage to her weapons, it might as well be over. But no, Allie can still fight.

         Silence is all there is for a very long time. Until rather suddenly, Allie comes flying out of the water nearby Saiga. It seems she's lost a lot of weight in her time underwater, too, as her

main armor seems to have been completely shed, leaving Allie with just her pronged dagger and her submachinegun... though oddly enough, her submachinegun seems to have been

outfitted with her artillery cannon.

         And the reason why becomes readily apparent, as Allie fires two shots straight for Saiga, intent on sending both of the artillery-like rounds towards the center of Saiga's body once

more, aiming for where that armor had been blasted off. Speaking of blasts? Those are still artillery rounds. And they explode rather nicely when they impact, be it on Saiga, or where Saiga

was previously standing if she evades it.

<X-Confed-Chatter> [0] Allie says, "In hindsight, surprise attacks where you leap out of the water are not that effective. They're kind of noisy. I should have just fired from the water. ... Oh

well, too late now."


Saiga discards the crane boom afterwards. And waits. And waits. "Well I guess that's i--"

And then Allie bursts back out of the water with her guns combined. "Aaah! Clever!" Saiga manages to yelp in surprise and awe. Sneaking back under the water! Allie was modeled partially

after a cat, and cats typically -hate- swimming so she wasn't expecting that. There's a pair of shots, and the explosion that would be expected to follow. Echoed by the loud clunk of a

Grapprap arm dropping to the deck.

Because Saiga had used the already damaged one to shield herself, the blast finishing the severance that Allie had stared with the daggers. That still stung, by the look on her face, but

sacrificing what was already too damaged to use made the most sense at the moment.

"Com'ere you!" The big arm thrusts out to grab onto Allie again. But this time just pulls the other shinki close to her. Why?

So Saiga can just give her some good old fashioned slugs to the face with her normal fists instead, that's why.

         BOOM BOOM! Okay, it seemed like it was a direct hit! ... To the already damaged arm. It falling off... well, at least she's down the arm completely now! But unfortunately it didn't

seem as effective as it could have been. "W-well, when fighting your weakness you have to get clev--eep!" And then... there is a large arm grabbing for her. And while it manages to grab her,

she rather quickly starts to squirm and push her way out of that arm. One... two strikes hit her! And then when the third strike is sent flying towards her, Allie is quite suddenly no longer in

Saiga's hand.

         She's also no longer holding that giant rifle, having dropped it in favor of two of those dual-pronged daggers. In a somewhat desperate move Allie does two quick swings towards both

of Saiga's legs, attempting to remove what little mobility the grapprap still had. Those two quick swings are followed by both blades being stabbed as hard as she can towards Saiga's

stomach and lower chest area. If that's successful, Allie would quickly lift her legs up, kicking off of Saiga's body to try and put some space between the two. Because remaining in melee

range of the grapprapp would just be silly.

Allie hit Tesla Armadia with her A flurry of blades, a stab, and a kicking leap! How fancy! Also probably a terrible idea because she's not a melee shinki. strong attack! <Standard Mechanic>



Saiga emits a hiss between her teeth as the daggers slash into her legs, doing her best to keep from screaming or anything else. Allie may not be a melee fighter but that doesn't mean that

getting slashed up doesn't hurt! Especially when a lot of her extra armor has already been busted or blasted off. A stab in the gut pays her back for putting that drill into Allie's, and then just

to rub it in Allie stomps on her chest to kick off of her. The damage to her legs is enough to get Saiga to drop to one knee with a snarl, and not likely to be able to chase after Allie. Or use her

big mechanical arm, considering she's uses that to support herself.

But the other broken off arm is right there. Down on one knee Saiga can grab it with both her normal arms, and with struggling due to exhaustion manages to pick it up off the deck.

"Heh... Here..." She manages to lift it up.

"Lemme give you a hand!"

And then awkwardly drop it like a hammer hopefully on top of the other Shinki.

         Okay, she's heavily crippled, and struggling to even stay standing at this point! This is maybe a win, and against a melee Shinki too! That might actually be a huge accomplish-- wait

what is she doing with her broken arm? Allie hesitates just that one second too long as that broken arm is lifted. And then... the fist of a broken arm is brought down on top of her, sending

the Shinki falling down to the ground!

         And then suddenly, Allie... explodes! But this was not an actual explosion, so much as the Battlefield's simulated show of the fact that the battle was now over. Saiga is given a good 10-

20 seconds to celebrate her victory, before the battlefield shuts down, both Shinki left undamaged on the table following the battle. "Fwah! Y-you're kind of terrifying with how physically

strong you are, Saiga!" Allie calls out, standing up and holding her hand out towards her. "Congratulations! ...You'd better win the rest of your fights, or I won't forgive you for beating me in

the first round!"

Allie deactivates the Visualizer, causing the active Field to shimmer and disappear.

<X-Confed-Chatter> [A] Jinxel says, "Congratulations Saiga!"


"And that.. is why.. they call me... a ground pounder." That's about as much as Saiga gets towards celebrating, a witty remark. Because frankly she feels like used oil after that fight,

simulation or otherwise. Exhausting, but worth the effort.

And then the Visualizer shuts down, leaving them standing on the normal table. And back in one piece in Saiga's case. Technically it was never broken in the first place outside of the

simulation but Saiga gives the right loader arm a testing flex all the same.

Satisfied everything is still working as it's suppose to be the large arms fold up at her sides so Saiga has room to grab the offered hand in her own. "And you're good at that explodiness. I

was lucky I was able to deflect getting shot up as often as I did." She lets go after the shake, still grinning. "Wanna go get some jelly cans to cool off with?"

<X-Confed-Chatter> [4-Of] Tesla Armadia | Saiga pants. Or the simulation there of. "That was helluva fight."

<X-Confed-Chatter> [0] Allie says, "Being paired off with a melee... fwah, what a rough first round!"

<X-Confed-Chatter> [2] Fuki ... "Good job, Allie."

<X-Confed-Chatter> [0] Allie says, "...It was a fun fight, that's for sure."

<X-Confed-Chatter> [0] Allie says, "I lost though, Fuki..."

<J-IC-Moderated> Allie>An announcer calls out, "And with a hammering blow, Saiga wins! Both of these combatants did well, and towards the end it got down to a nail-bitingly close finish!

Congratulations to both of the fighters on an amazing fight!"

<X-Confed-Chatter> [2] Fuki says, "Good job.  You faced off against a bit more experienced Shinki."

<X-Confed-Chatter> [2] Fuki says, "You learned, yes?"

<X-Confed-Chatter> [4-Of] Tesla Armadia says, "Not to mention something opposite your strengths. Considering the odds you did exceptionally well Allie."

<X-Confed-Chatter> [2] Fuki says, "So yes, good job."

         Allie actually giggles at that flex, her armor actually completely gone now, leaving her just in her painted on leotard! She grins towards Saiga as she gives her hand a quick squeeze in

the shake. "Sure! Let's go cool off with some jellycans. And possibly some cleaning. Even though I know it was just simulated, I still feel kind of gross from that oil..."

Energy flashes as Saiga shunts her rig back into Slipway, her body detailing made to look like a worker's overalls to go with the construction theme. Then puts an arm around Allie's

shoulders buddy-like as they walk to the edge to the table to meet their Masters. "Yeah, tell me about it. It always feels good to get cleaned up after a fight, simulated or not."
