- Investigation of architectures for a virtual communications product that brings together complex switching, user experience and RF communications across small and large areas for Canadian and north American customers
- An integrated Hydrography solution for marine surveys
- Greenhouse gas emission visualizations in real time
- Designing and building internal tools to support our solution and product configuration efforts
- Incident management solutions across the whole country - think like the "minority report" command centre style of HQ
- Project work on business billing and logistics enterprise solutions for ports in the UK, Europe, Canada and Asia
- Integration of the Apple Watch into our port management app suite for mobile marine pilots and other app related tasks
- Development of the latest generation of port management solutions as we migrate from windows to a full web approach
- User interfaces for the control software at our mining operations on the planet of Pandora (Really? No, not really but we love the concept - if you do too then we need you to apply)

As an Undergraduate/graduate member of the KSG development group you will engage in a variety of web development assignments and develop extensive knowledge of KSG’s applications, R&D and maritime business processes. You will typically work as part of a 3 to 5 member team designing and building an application module. The work is demanding, highly collaborative and very fast paced. A solid commitment to delivering quality work is essential.


Job Requirements:
Essential:
- C#
- Recognize a ship 5 or 6 times out of ten (may be relaxed for those who haven't spent much time near the ocean)

Nice to have:
- ASP.NET and MS SQL
Server experience
- T-SQL- XML- HTML5, CSS,
JavaScript
- Experience with visual report builder tools (Crystal Reports or similar)

Required Skills:
- Strong communications skills, both oral and written
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Ability to prioritize work in multitasking environment
- Team player
- Ability to work on tight schedule

Qualifications:
- (Minimum) reading for degree in computer science, engineering or a related discipline
- No other experience is necessary - we will support you, train you and often we will supply food and entertainment as well (ping pong, cards, lunchtime seminars etc)
