  1. The following changes will be implemented to permit corporations to bring in the industry we need:
  2.
  3. Participation stats will be reduced significantly to begin with. This change has already been put into effect, your corporate CEOs have been notified of the major drop in requirements to give them room to bring in industry to Branch. Participation stats will eventually be brought back up to a more reasonable level as we adjust to how much industry we require, but for the moment we feel that a lot of leeway will assist in preparing Branch for the changes.
  4.
  5. If corporations shift to be more industry focused, we will monitor their contributions to the alliance to see if the balance between what they bring in pvp and what they bring elsewise exists. At the moment we are attempting to create an application that tracks how much a corporation produces, as well as the sum total of the value of their market contributions and the total number of items they have on the Branch market. A combination of these metrics will be used in our current plan to get an idea of whether or not corporations are adding value to the alliance rather than making themselves a lot of money without helping FCON stand on its own. Other methods for tracking industrial contribution will be considered if they are an improvement over this. The goal is to ensure that the leeway we give corporations is used to build up industry, not to sneak in a bunch of ratters.
  6.
  7. Upgrading stations for industry benefits will be our top sov spending priority.
  8.
  9. Refinery taxes will be reduced to a level comparable to all of our neighbors, possibly slightly lower.
  10.
  11. POCO taxes will be reduced for the alliance to 2%.
  12.
  13. We will be in discussion with both Razor and the renters of Branch about a combined market. The renters may also be assisting us with minerals on the market. These talks are already beginning.
  14.
  15. We will be selling alliance moon goo at a discount in branch to encourage local industry (and reduce the stress on the POS team trying to sell in hi-sec).
  16.
  17.
  18. Abuses we will watch out for:
  19.
  20. Market price fucking. We won't mandate any price ranges for the market, but the goal of all of the changes are to provide assets for our pvpers and make it possible to live in Branch. Anyone who is massively overcharging on a regular basis or attempting scam prices to line their own pockets at the expense of those who fight to let us live in Branch will be removed. These changes are to benefit FCON, not 1 player.
  21.
  22. Using the pap stat leeway to bring in a bunch of ratters instead of using it to benefit the alliance with industrialists. Don't bloat up with self-serving members, every corporation in FCON must contribute.
  23.
  24. Note:
  25.
  26. A last change, not strictly related to industry but because they need the help: the POS team will now get a slightly bigger reduction in cost to purchase moon goo from the alliance (on top of their current payroll). This will be managed by the financial department to ensure it is not abused. This will only apply up to a certain amount of moon goo each month. I hope this inspires more people to join the POS team. Seriously, join the POS team. They need help. (Contact Brassal, Kyt Thrace, or St Christopholas)

  35. Yes, I know, everyone is in an uproar at the moment. This isn't easy for alliance leadership, it's a shift at the very basic level of what it means to be FCON. However, the game we're playing has changed, and we must change with it. We cannot stand still and pray that these changes won't affect us, we must adapt in order to survive. That being said, we are VERY open for any more good ideas to improve our situation in Branch after the patch hits. We must become as self sufficient as possible. FCON has lasted 5 years so far, and we've done so by being adaptive to the fluid nature of Eve. I hope that everyone can see the reason for this change, and trust that those of us who are granted the privilege to lead FCON will not let you down. FCON will still be a PVP alliance, we're just going to have an industry infrastructure holding up our killers now.

  37. My officers have noted that I didn't bring up our PVP core in this update. That is true, and I want to explain why. PVP is what we do, it is our end game. However, the game is being changed by CCP, and that means that the ground our pvpers stood on was crumbling under them. The ease of access to the necessary items to succeed in PVP will massively degrade. By building a strong foundation of industry under our feet, we can be assured that our PVPers will be capable of withstanding what CCP throws at us. The alliance Skyteam has been tasked with announcing adaptive changes to the jump nerfs, and coming up with further incentives for PVP as our projection capability is reduced. Expect those in the near future.
