- >Day first snow in Equestria
- >It has been 5 months since you've been violently ripped from your world and thrown into this one, but you've learned to appreciate the little things that reminded you of home.
- >First snowfall was one of these little things.
- >Like a child you press your nose against the window pane and watch the big snowflakes fall down.
- "Hey Twilight! Do you see that? It's snowing!"
- >Twilight chuckles at your childish enthusiasm for the downfall, and sets down next to you in front of the window.
- >"The weather team said that we'll get about 15 centimetres overnight."
- >You never really noticed that ponies used the metric system, which was weird considering they never even had the French to invent it.
- >Maybe the French are born inter-dimension travellers and conquered this world for them long before you arrived here.
- >No, that would be silly.
- >"Alors Anon, let's get back to work. I'll give you tomorrow off, if you want, but only if we can get this done today."
- >You groan, and ask yourself when you've started acting like a 10 year old. Probably when you saw the snow.
- "Fine Miss Sparkle." you say mockingly.
- >Twilight winks at you, and you focus towards telling her about the geography of your world again.
- >Dinner was uneventful, but not less romantic.
- >Not romantic in a Pony-loving way, more "romantic" as in "the atmosphere was pretty damn cosy".
- >You look through the window into the darkness, and you see the snow as it flies past the lights of Ponyville.
- >You feel a soft hoof tug on your shirt.
- >"Anon?" you hear Twilight ask.
- >You don't avert your gaze from the snowy spectacle outside.
- "I miss home, Twilight."
- >You feel her brush up against your leg.
- >"I'm sorry." she says.
- >You sigh.
- "Don't be. It's my fault, really."
- >The two of you stand next to each other for a while, saying nothing.
- >"I'm going to bed now. Maybe you should too, if you want to get up early tomorrow."
- >You nod, still not turning your head, and you hear Twilight closing the door to her room.
- >And so you stand there at least another two hours, just looking at the snowflakes, lost in your own thoughts.
- >You are Twilight Sparkle.
- >You woke up early this beautiful morning, and are now having some breakfast while reading the newspaper.
- >Anon seemed to still be asleep. His door was closed, and you didn't want to wake him up.
- >Maybe a good night's sleep would help him with his homesickness.
- >At least, you really hoped it would, because you didn't know any other way you could help him.
- >You could get a royal event running, or memorise 100 digits of Pi, but you aren't good when it comes to personal feelings and the likes.
- >Hours pass, and Anon still isn't up.
- >Only now you notice that his coat and shoes are missing from the wardrobe, and the realisation that Anon has been up before you hits you cold in the face.
- >To confirm, you open his bedroom door and find his bed empty.
- >Panic starts to set in.
- >What if he went and did something stupid?
- >You feel guilty, terribly terribly guilty.
- >It was wrong to leave him alone last night.
- >Without further ado, you get the girls together to look for Anon.
- >Systematically, you turn over every rock in Ponyville, searching for him.
- >Eventually, you find him sitting on a park bench on the outskirts of Ponyville.
- >You see Twilight Sparkle running towards you.
- >"Thank Celestia Anon, you're okay!"
- >She embraces you in a tight hug before blushing and releasing you before you could even return it.
- >The expression on her face changes from relief to worry again, and she looks you in the eyes.
- >"I have been so worried when you were gone this morning, I was so stupid to just go to-"
- >You interrupt her by putting a hand on her wither.
- "Sssht, it's okay."
- >Twilight hugs you again.
- >"Really?"
- >You rest your hand on her back.
- "Yeah, I just needed some time to think."
- >Twilight lets go of you but keeps one hoof on your arm, sitting down next to you onto the bench.
- >She's not explicitly stating it, but it's obvious that she wants you to talk with her.
- "All my life, I've always waited for something to happen. Something to change in the dynamics of my life."
- >Twilight nods understandingly.
- "I've waited for a hint on what I should do, something to give me purpose. Something that I could do and feel right about, a feeling I rarely had in my life. But it never came. When I ..."
- >You stop for a minute, struggling to find the right word.
- "... was brought to Equestria, I thought this was it. I thought now everything was going to be different, you know?"
- >Twilight moves her hoof onto your shoulder, comforting you.
- "But it didn't."
- >The two of you sit next to each other in silence for a moment, the chilly winter breeze making Twilight shiver.
- >"Let's get you inside, and we'll talk about this over a hot cup of tea. How does that sound?"
- >You look into her purple eyes, and you see a sense of seriousness and confidence on her face.
- "Yes, talking sounds good."
