Guide on installing CM3D2

About the game (you can skip):

q1: What is this game about senpai?
a1: You will purchase some three-dimensional maids with different personalities, dress them up, train them to be a good maid, watch them dance, listen to them babbling stupid shit, fuck them tenderly or slap them like slaves, optionally you can watch yourself getting NTRed.

q2: Is it resource intensive?
a2: The game is written in Unity and the coders are surprisingly proficient. It supports both 32bit and 64bit. Runs on Win7 and Win8. Reportedly got some issue on Win10 but it runs pretty well on my 2013 $700 Win10 notebook.

q3: Is it translated? I can only read English.
a3: The UI is almost fully translated and the game is completely "playable". However, less than 10% of the dialogues are translated and the translation scene is quite dead now despite its popularity. Since the game relies heavily on the dialogues to build up the maids' personalities, you will miss quite a lot in this regard. Still, you can enjoy the dress up and h-scenes.

q4: Expected file size?
a4: The base game is around 10GB. With all DLCs installed it would be >25GB.

Q1: Preparations

First, We are going to download all the files necessary.
The order in this step does not matter.

1. Base game
- find a torrent on sukebei
- you may want to start with https://sukebei.nyaa.se/?page=view&tid=1776288 OR https://mega.co.nz/#!9M1EgKjA!PGEr3GejU4ZpRKRzW3B6fCRrhDh60OkQBA40LkBApGA
- after the download completes you should have: "cm3d2_1.iso" and "cm3d2_2.iso"
- there are some ALL-IN-ONE torrents that claim to include all patches and the DLCs and require no installations. If you choose to use those torrents then you can skip this guide completely. If later you want to install a new DLC or update you can still refer to the second half of this guide.
- if you decide to do the installation and ignore the ALL-IN-ONE torrents, be warned that it is quite time-consuming to get all the DLCs installed.

2. Update patches
- you need TWO patches, one for "1.00 -> 1.12", another for "1.12 -> (whatever the latest one is)" (1.31 in my case)
- get the patches from https://mega.nz/#F!fpgFAbaS!9uUPXC-TeU7vJgMVh7YS2w (ignore the DLCs for now)
? "lol I can't do mega" get them from http://www.kisskiss.tv/cm3d2/update.php instead.
? "but x86 or x64?" I recommend x86 (32bit) for the minimum chance of fucking shit up, even if you're a computer expert.
!! there MAY be an additional hotfix file (1.31.1 in my case). You need that as well.
- in my case the two update files are "CM3D2 Update to 1.12 [Must have].zip", "CM3D2 Update from 1.12 to 1.31 for x86.zip", and the hotfix file is "cm3d2_up131.1.zip"

3. Locale Emulator
- game is programmed in jap so you need a jap environment to run the game, fortunately there are tools to emulate the environment
- Locale Emulator is recommended. Get that shit from https://xupefei.github.io/Locale-Emulator/ (Alternatives: Applocale, NTLEA)
- extract the folder to somewhere safe. You will not be able to move the folder afterward.
- in the folder, run "LEInstaller.exe", click "Install / Upgrade", click "OK" to finish the installation.
- then run "LEGUI.exe", you will see a pop up. "Locale" and "Timezone" should be Japan and Tokyo time by default. Click "Save". Exit.
!! this may trigger anti-virus false alarm but it is safe
!! if you do NOT want to use an emulator, you can manually switch the System Locale/Format to Japan AND the System Timezone to Osaka/Tokyo time, Google it for details. If you do this, from now on you can safely ignore all steps concerning the Locale Emulator and just directly run the .exe.

4. Ignore the DLCs
- just ignore the DLCs for now

5. (Optional) HF-Patch
- the HF-Patch gives you some basic UI translations and partial (read: not even 10%) dialogue translations along with other stuff like uncensors or optional fixes

- refer to the readme for details
- just a reminder, the translation scene is quite dead now because of the discouraging amount of dialogues (>75k lines). Not to mention KISS is still constantly adding more and more dialogues.

Q2: Installation

We will now install the game. You should have these ready:
1. Base game files: "cm3d2_1.iso" and "cm3d2_2.iso"
2. Patch files: "1.00->1.12", "1.12->(latest version)", or Hotfix as well if available
3. Installed Locale Emulator (Ignore this if you've manually adjusted the Locale/Format/Timezone)
4. (Optional) HF Patch

1. Installing the base game
a. Mount "cm3d2_1.iso" with DAEMON or whatever you have.
b. IGNORE THE AUTORUN, CLOSE IT!
c. Find "Installer.exe" in the mounted .iso file.
d. Right click the "Installer.exe", if you have succefully installed the Locale Emulator, you should see a "Locale Emulator" option here. Select that and click "Run in Japanese (Admin)". A pop-up will appear.
!! Warning, on some stupid computers, running as (Admin) might actually fail you the installation. Use  "Run in Japanese" in that case.
e. (Optional) Change the install path by clicking "開く" on the top right.
f. Press the moon rune "インストール" (the one above "マニュアル (HTML)" and "終了") to start installing maids.
g. Click some buttons to confirm the installation. The installation should begin now.
h. Half way done, a "ディスク交換" titled pop-up will ask you to mount the "cm3d2_2.iso". Do it. Then press "Retry" in the pop-up.
i. Let the installation finishes. Then unmount the image.

2. Updating the game
a. Open the folder of the patch for 1.00->1.12.
b. Right click the "update.exe" -> "Locale Emulator" -> "Run in Japanese (Admin)"
c. In the pop-up, press "適用" on the right, then press "開始" on the right.
d. It should finish quickly. Exit.
e. Open the folder of the patch for 1.12->(latest version) (1.31 in my case).
f. Right click the "update.exe" and repeat the same process.
g. (If there's any) Install the Hotfix in the same way as well.
h. Remember this process. This is basically how you will apply every new patches and DLCs.

3. Run the game
a. Go to the folder where you installed the game (Default would be "C:\KISS\CM3D2\")
b. Stare at "CM3D2x86.exe" passionately.
c. Right click "CM3D2x86.exe" -> "Locale Emulator" -> "Run in Japanese (Admin)" (Admin or not doesn't seem to matter). Congratulation, you're now running the game!
d. If you see an error message with "yotogi" something something on it, the emulator (if you're using one) probably fucks up, but it shouldn't. You can try other emulators like Applocale or NTLEA. Your last resort is to manually change your System Locale/Format/Timezone to Japan.

4. (Optional) Applying the HF-Patch
a. Please refer to their patch note for the procedure.
b. You should NOT seek /hgg/'s help if you fuck up the HF-Patch, because none of us is responsible for any troubles caused by it. Ask the people on HF.
!! Warning: a new game's update will most likely need a new HF-Patch.

Q3: B-b-but the DLCs!!!

We are going to download and apply the DLCs. DLCs are completely optional. They include:
- cosmetic stuff
- new sex skills (Yotogi Class Skills)
- new stages
- new cuck events
- new personalities
- new dances
- new mechanics (like poser)
- monthly packs or DLC Set that includes a mixture of above
Each month there will be two or three new DLCs. Some DLCs are considered big enough to be "Expansions", i.e. Plus Pack, Visual Pack

- [Pre-Order Bonus], [CM3D2 Shop], [CM3D2 Append] etc. are all DLCs
- the DLC files are exclusive, meaning that if you want to get everything you literally have to download and install everything.
- yes, there are many DLCs, KISS is the biggest Jew in the hgame industry.
- if you really really really don't want to download everything at first, considered getting the following to start with:

- sort the items by clicking "Date Created" if you are looking for the latest stuff. The link above is constantly updated with new DLCs, be sure to check it out once in a while

2. Applying the DLCs
- the process is completely the same as updating the game, so you should have no trouble.
- the order of applying the DLCs does NOT matter for the most part.
- it can be extremely tedious to get every DLCs installed. In the MEGA folder there is a guide on "How to make an all-in-one installer". I never tried this before. You might want to.
- with all DLCs installed, expect the folder size to be over 25GB

3. The game doesn't run after I have applied a new DLC!!!!
- make sure you have the game updated to the latest version
- make sure your HF-Patch (if you're using one) matches with that latest update of the game
