[01:26] <Cecil> "This is a distress call from Wanderer Steve Weislet. Any Wanderer available in Ivoryscape, please head south to the Milotic Daycare Centre. There's been an incident."

06[01:31] * Camellia is seated at one of her favorite cafes when she receives the call. She had been contemplatively staring at an ultraball. One containing a peculiar explosive penguin. "A Call from Steve? I hope he's alright..." She heads over, riding Assam as always.

06[01:32] * ~Maus_Riverbed happens to have been on the outskirts not too far, though the still-bandaged wounds on his arm keep him from going too fast.

06[01:33] * Ryuu has been contemplating at the pokecenter, with his pokemon sleeping in their balls. He had been figuring out what to do from here onwards when the familiar call came in. Seeing that it was from Steve, Ryuu hurried to the destination pointed out in the Wandererdex.
[01:33] <Jamal> "The...daycare center? What kind of sick thug picks on babies?!  Come, Queen Episilon, Queen Witch Bug, we shall assist!" He rushes to the scene.
[01:34] <Camellia> (queen witch bug is the best nickname)
[01:36] <Cecil> As the Wanderers arrived at the daycare, they could see that the front grounds were torn up, possible in a fierce battle. An old woman wrapped in a yarn shawl is standing there, and she looks so relieved on their arrival. "Thank you all for coming. He's inside tending to my son and his Pokemon."
[01:36] <Reinhard> "...Tending?"
[01:37] <Ryuu> "Do you have any idea who have attacked?"
[01:37] <Camellia> "It's turning out to be a pretty hectic week for Ivoryscape, isn't it?" Camellia assesses the damage as she approaches. Chamomile sadly nods in her lanturn box.
06[01:38] * ~Maus_Riverbed arrives with Loot in his hair, Rolane bounding along by his side, and is scanning the area with curiosity.
[01:38] <Jamal> "Good day, Camellia, Ryuu, Reinhard - ..." He looks at Maus for a bit, then recalls the event with Trevor. "And you must be Maus.  I don't recall if we've met yet...Anyhow-" he turns to the older lady. "Just what in the seven layers of sin HAPPENED here, ma'am?"
[01:38] <Reinhard> "VERY. I might leave again if there cannot be any REST gotten in the area."
[01:39] <Cecil> The old woman nods. "Yes, tending. We were attacked by a masked man who demanded some of the eggs. Our son tried to fight him off, but...he had so many Pokemon behind him. We called in Steve once the dust settled. Then he called you."
[01:39] <Camellia> "Jamal, it's been a while." Camellia nods in greeting before turning back to the old woman. "Is your son okay now?"
06[01:39] * ~Maus_Riverbed looks sideways at Jamal with vague suspicion, but seems to give it up after a little bit.
[01:40] <Ryuu> "This won't be good then..." Ryuu said as he nodded and headed in. If they needed numbers, that would mean Steve fighting on his own against the intruder would end up ugly.
[01:40] <Camellia> "Oh and Maus, I haven't seen you around either since..." Camellia looks him up and down, noticing the bandages and recalling what Trevor had said. "Well, it's good to see you again as well."
[01:40] <Reinhard> "What, was it anything like a COMMON CRIMINAL, or some sort of ABSURD mask?
[01:40] <Jamal> "An...egg bandit.  That's even worse than babies!  But yes, what of this mask?"
[01:41] <Cecil> "Yes. From what Steve said, it wasn't any deep or lasting wound, but enough to force him to stand down." The woman frowned. "The man wore a mask, and actually fur vest, that tried to make him look like a Mightyena."
[01:42] <Cecil> (If you played Battle Revolution, yeah, think that Lucario suit. Only it's a Mightyena and it covers the eyes)
[01:42] <~Maus_Riverbed> "Oh... hey, uh..." he looks vaguely like he's needed a bit to remember Camellia's name, so he just let's himself fade off and focuses on the information.
[01:42] <Reinhard> "That is RIDICULOUS. Well, which way did he go?"
[01:43] <Cecil> "...I don't know. I immediately went to call Steve, and my husband immediately took to getting my son and his Pokemon first aid."
[01:43] <Jamal> "Extremely suspect.  It reminds me of a certain other criminal scum."
[01:44] <Camellia> "We should speak with your son and Steven then. Maybe one of them knows where to start looking."
06[01:45] * Ryuu steps into the daycare center, assessing the damage and looking for Steve and members of the old lady's family.
[01:45] <Jamal> "Indeed.  Seems Steve is the only one who actually saw where he went. Onward, Queen!" He heads to the door.
[01:47] <Cecil> Inside is certainly in good condition. It appears the entire conflict happened outside. On a couch is a young man in green overalls and a red and white bandana that looked like a cloth pokeball. He has several cuts and scratches over his body, and a few welts. Steve is sitting next to him, dabbing his wounds and bandaging him up.
[01:48] <Cecil> An old man is sitting in a nearby chair, head bowed, brow wrinkled. Like, even for an old guy.
[01:49] <Ryuu> "It's a good thing you are all right..." the trainer nodded, noting that nothing really serious happened to them that would require a trip to the hospital (hopefully), "What of the intruder?"
[01:49] <Jamal> "Good day, citizens! The calvery has arrived!  And yes, the misses outside informed us of a masked perp on the run."
[01:50] <Cecil> Steve looks up at Ryuu and Jamal's arrival, and his whole posture seems to relax. The man being tended to turned his head towards them. "Oh, you must be Steve's friends." He clicks his tongue in disappointment in himself.

06[01:51] * Camellia enters the room and sweeps her eyes over everyone, visibly relaxing. "It's good to see everyone's at least relatively okay. What can you tell us about this guy? Where he left to, what pokemon he used..."
[01:53] <Cecil> "After he beat me, he took five of our eggs, and ran further to the south. Him, and his pack of dogs."
[01:53] <Cecil> "Poocheyna to be exact," Steve clarifies.
[01:54] <~Maus_Riverbed> "He had a pack with him...?" Maus headtilts a little, Loot rebalancing himself on top
[01:54] <Reinhard> "What, ALL of them at once?"
[01:55] <Ryuu> "Considering how important the eggs are that he would steal them, they can't get very far..." Ryuu guessed as he checked outside, "If we hurry now we might be able to catch up to them."
[01:55] <Camellia> "I see." Camellia frowns, looking to Chammy. The litwick shivers. "Not the best circumstance has thrown me lately, but I'll do what I can for a friend."
[01:56] <Jamal> "You got anything the eggs were kept in, like a blanket or something?" He releases Alpha the Ursaring, and Delta the bumblebear.
[01:56] <~Maus_Riverbed> "...Mmm, yeah, I can probably track them," Maus nods, his nose twitching a little.
[01:57] <Cecil> "Egg Warmers," the old man finally speaks up. "Special little devices we use to make sure the eggs are properly incubated. He gathered six of them and put them in a larger container." He looks to Maus. "You're a tracker?"
[01:58] <Jamal> "As are they," he points at the bears.
06[01:59] * Camellia retrieves a pokeball and releases Chai. "Might as well add my own."
[01:59] <~Maus_Riverbed> "I've just... got good senses?" he nods and takes a deep breath, shuts his eyes, and... sniffs~

[02:05] <Cecil> While a scent might not be easily picked up, a careful check of the ground might reveal physical tracks. After all, it was mentioned this was a pack attack.
[02:05] <Jamal> "Oh hey how did we miss that earlier," he scratches his head.
[02:05] <Cecil> (Make one more track check, but this time add a +2 to that. DC 11)
[02:05] <Camellia> Chai shakes his head and jumps into Camellia's arms. She gives him a quick pat on the head before recalling him and walking out.

[02:08] <Cecil> "Good luck, everyone," Steve wishes with an appreciative bow. "I'll remain her to hold down the fort in case he circles you and comes back. Besides, I've got my patients."
[02:09] <Jamal> "Forward, then!" He marches after Honotaro
[02:09] <Reinhard> "I understand."
[02:09] <Ryuu> "Give us a call if he does," Ryuu said as he started following where Honotaro is leading them to, "We'll get back as quickly as possible then."
06[02:09] * Camellia nods. "Take care Steve."
[02:11] <Cecil> As you follow the tracks, you eventually come to a thick forest. There are now more landmarks to follow like snapped branches and depressed earth, but one false step and you might get lost.
06[02:11] * ~Maus_Riverbed doesn't seem so bothered by the change in scenery.  Or bothered at all, still following what his nose has caught
06[02:12] * Camellia steps up to a particularly old looking tree and pauses. Her Spiritomb speaks up. 3<Oy, you aren't trying that tree talking bullshit again are you?> Camellia ignores Oolong and leans in. "Excuse me, have you seen someone come by here? Perhaps with a pack of poochenya?" (Treehugger!)
06[02:13] * Ryuu thinks it could be a problem if the pack they are chasing after desided to lay an ambush, "Be careful, everyone. Hopefully they don't plan on staying and waiting for us here..."
06[02:13] * Jamal draws his machete. "Bah, foilage smoilage - he can't hide forever out here."
[02:14] <Cecil> The tree responds twofold! Even in a calm day such as this, its branches seem to bend into the forest, the south east, pointing in the direction of the Poochyena.
[02:14] <Cecil> It also seems to slap Jamal's machete hand.
[02:15] <Camellia> 3<...Well, that's just the wind, lady! Coincidence!> Oolong turns away in a huff.
[02:15] <Ryuu> ".... The tree must be offended of your weapon..." Ryuu remarked, looking to the direction where the tree managed to point, with Honotaro nodding in agreement of the direction.
[02:15] <Jamal> "Ow!  These oaks seem TERRITORIAL."
[02:16] <Cecil> (Next track check was going to be DC13 due to rougher terrain, but now it's DC11 again. Still a +2 bonus for having the scent from before)
[02:16] <Camellia> "Hush Oolong, I think I win our little bet. I'm getting you that top hat." Camellia smiles as she cautiously starts toward the direction the tree pointed to.

[02:20] <Camellia> "We're likely in his territory now. We'll have to be cautious."

[02:23] <Cecil> As you push through the forest, with guidance from both the trees and Alpha, you come to the edge of a clearing. You're partially hidden behind the trees and brush, but at the same time, it somewhat obstructs your view. There's certainly more sun ahead.

[02:26] <Cecil> Looks like quarter to 4. Guess the setting sun is hitting this part of the forest just right.

[02:28] <Camellia> She hooks her lanturn box onto the end of her staff and holds it out. Chammy gives a brief flicker before shining brightly.

[02:31] <Cecil> The added height gives Camellia a better look. In the clearing is a man with his back to her. He has purple white hair, and a black hat with Mightyena ears. A black fur vest is over his back, his arms are bare save for black gloves, and a whip is attached to his belt. He appears to be looking through something.
06[02:32] * Camellia quietly stoops down to talk to the rest of the Wanderers. "He's there in the clearing. Doesn't seem to have noticed us though, and he's rummaging through something."
06[02:33] * Reinhard makes a definite effort to stop his VOLUME once there's actual word of him. "Then we should take advantage of his distraction, no?"

[02:37] <Ryuu> 'Shimatta....' Ryuu thought as he thought quickly at how to distract the dogs, but the best they have would probably be throwing twigs into the air. It should also be pointed out the latter is not a good idea at all.

06[02:38] * Camellia decides to intervene directly. She holds out her hand and calls up a small blue flame that flickers and swirls into a beam of light. Confuse Ray!
[02:38] <Cecil> Fortunately, Camellia's channelling does the trick! One of the Poocheyna staggers off, unsure what the heck it's doing.
[02:39] <Cecil> Surprisingly, Ryuu's trick also seems to work, as the twig causes the Poocheyna to look away for just a few seconds.
[02:39] <~Maus_Riverbed> "But... I thought..." his nose is still twitching, and he looks a little disappointed at himself D:
[02:40] <Camellia> "The clock's ticking, and the circumstances are just right." Camellia nods to the others. "Watch out for the eggs though..."
[02:40] <Jamal> "Right, then, get ready, Queen Episilon, to use that!"
[02:41] <~Maus_Riverbed> "...?" Maus closes his eyes again despite himself and sniffs.  "Huhn...?"
[02:41] <Ryuu> "Take them out as quickly as possible with solid attacks..." Ryuu added as Honotaro got ready for a follow.
[02:42] <Jamal> "Get your dukes up, everyone!" The empresect begins to beat her wings at a faster pace! (prepping a Silver Wind)
06[02:43] * Camellia slips a small engraved knife out of her robes and rests the blade in her palm.
[02:43] <~Maus_Riverbed> Maus' nose wrinkles.  "That smells... dangerous" he frowns, starting to move again - this time with his eyes keeping a careful eye around
[02:43] <Cecil> The man closes the box, and stands up. He walks to the other side of it, allowing the party to see his face. Or rather, see the dog mask covering his eyes. Yes, in addition to wearing a hat with Mightyena ears, like a true criminal, he's wearing a mask that gives him a Mightyena snout and solid red eyes.

[04:33] <Ryuu> "That... went surprisingly well...." Ryuu said as he goes check on the eggs, making sure they are safe.
[04:33] <Reinhard> "Maybe I should volunteer... considering the aftermath of this, it may well be a break."
[04:33] <Camellia> "Who robs a day care though? It's not exactly a likely target." Camellia is curious about what could be so worth stealing and examines the eggs as well.
[04:34] <Reinhard> "Maybe he wanted more minions."
[04:34] <@Cecil> Indeed, they are perfectly safe in their egg warmers. The plexiglass is a little fogged over from the temporary snowfall, but the warmth is still there.
[04:34] <@Cecil> The thief moans a little, eyes spinning behind his mask.
[04:34] <Ryuu> "Some pokemon are valuable, especially if treated well," the trainer said, checking if they can carry the chest. Otherwise Honotaro does the lifting.
[04:36] <@Cecil> Indeed, a simple campferwood chest with six eggs is no problem for the wrestling pig, albeit with someone to help carry the other end for balance.

[04:38] <Ryuu> "We should get these eggs back to the day care center," Ryuu said as he brings Ookimaru out to assist with the other end of the chest, "I'm sure Steve and the day care family are worried about how we are faring."
06[04:39] * Reinhard starts setting the injured Fritz to rest on top of Siegfried again and pats them both. "OF COURSE! Far too late to be sitting around in the woods."
[04:40] <Jamal> "You go on then, I got other plans for these punks," he and his 'deputies' gather up the KO'd Pooches and drag off the preps to the nearest police station.
[04:41] <Camellia> "So long then Jamal." Camellia waves and returns Chammy to her usual spot in her lanturn as she follows the others to the day care.
[04:42] <Reinhard> "RIGHT! ...So what do we do after?"
[04:43] <Ryuu> "We'll have to make sure those who need some medical attention gets them," Ryuu added as he guides his two pokemon along to a clearer path back to the day care, "Your pokemon were hurt pretty bad by those poochyenas in the fight."
06[04:44] * Camellia nods. "And after that, something calm. This has been quite enough action for two days."

[04:45] <Ryuu> "Yes... It has been rough..." the trainer added, left hand reaching to the celitty's pokeball and letting it out for some light.
[04:46] <Ryuu> Denko pops out and scampers up to rest on Ryuu's shoulder, giving of a faint glow of light for the group.
06[04:46] * ~Maus_Riverbed just rests a little, holding onto his bandaged arm and checking over his companions, mostly separate from the group.
[04:47] <@Cecil> As the Wanderers return to the Daycare Centre, the sun is on the horizon, about to set. The grass is still kicked up and everywhere, but it seems more peaceful than when they arrived before.
[04:49] <Ryuu> Honotaro and Ookimaru gently bring the chest down before the day care family while Ryuu explains that Jamal has the thieves dealt with.
[04:52] <@Cecil> A look of relief and joy washes over the old couple, their son, and Steve, at the sight of the chest. Steve is the first to respond, with a deep standing bow. "Thank you all so much!"
06[04:53] * ~Maus_Riverbed is hiding his arm by the time he makes it back, though he still manages a bit of a smile.  "It's... not really a big deal?"
[04:54] <Reinhard> "HARDLY AT ALL!"
[04:55] <@Cecil> Steve grins at Maus. "It might not be a major deal, but you saved these babies from imprinting on that creep. On behalf of the family here, I can't thank you enough."
06[04:55] * Ryuu nods quietly. It is a job well done, at the least.
[04:56] <Camellia> "We are Wanderers. This is what we do." Camellia smiles.
[04:57] <@Cecil> The old couple look between each other, and nod. "Which one of you is Seitamashii Ryuu?"
[04:57] <~Maus_Riverbed> "It's... it's fine," Maus sighs, stepping back a little modestly.
[04:58] <Ryuu> "I am..." Ryuu spoke up, wondering, "Is there something the matter...?"
[04:58] <@Cecil> "Well, whatever the case, I'm in your--" Steve stops, and quietly approaches Maus. "Hey, Maus? Is something wrong?"
[04:59] <~Maus_Riverbed> "...I'm fine," he answers, clutching his arm a little closer to himself.  "Don't worry about it."
[05:00] <@Cecil> "That doesn't look fine...in fact, it looks kinda bad. Please, let me see it." Steve smiles reassuringly.
[05:00] <@Cecil> The old woman bends down near the chest. The old man approaches Ryuu. "Steve told us about you. And your Hataro. It must have been so hard to lose someone so close to you as your first Pokemon."
[05:01] <~Maus_Riverbed> Maus gives up and holds out his arm.  For... not having used that one during the fight, the bandages along the back of his arms are all bloodied.
[05:02] <Ryuu> "....." Ryuu simply nodded, suddenly quiet with a hand to his belt bag, where he kept Hataro's grass plate, "H, he may caused a lot of trouble... But we've been through a lot together..."
[05:03] <@Cecil> "Oh dear, that does look..." Steve looks Maus in the face. "This needs new bandages. And maybe some sewing up. Do you want me to do that for you?"
[05:04] <~Maus_Riverbed> "...Y-yeah," Maus adds, nodding.  "It's just from a fight I got into a while ago.  Guess I opened it back up again..."
[05:04] <@Cecil> "You two must have loved each other very much. I know this can never replace what he meant to you, but..." The old woman approaches Ryuu, cradling one of the egg warmers in her arms. "This is a Snivy egg. Please...accept it as our thanks for what you did in rescuing it, and the others."
06[05:04] * Camellia bites her lip looking over at Maus's injury, saying nothing but making a note to herself to ask Trevor just what the hell happened when they next meet.
[05:05] <@Cecil> "It's alright. I'm going to take the bandages off now. This might sting for a little while..." With that, Steve gets started, unwrapping the bandages, and inspecting and cleaning the wound.
06[05:06] * Reinhard sighs deeply. "That's... really. I understand wanting to help, but... maybe you should be with us on the whole 'no more calls for a bit' thing? Or... stick around here or something."
06[05:06] * ~Maus_Riverbed sits down, looking away from Steven in embarassment and meeting Camellia's eyes
[05:07] <Ryuu> "I...." Ryuu was hesitant for a moment, but brought his hands out to receive the egg warmer, ".... Thank you... Hataro would have been glad..."
[05:08] <Camellia> Camellia's gaze lingers hesitantly for a second before looking away. She still doesn't know this kid enough to pry into whatever happened.
[05:09] <@Cecil> "Oh my..." Steve murmurs, looking at the wound. It was worse than he thought...but he looked at Maus and winked. "I won't ask. Just please, don't do so much to open it, or whatever treatment you get won't help." With that, he gets to work, giving Maus something to bite on while he started on the initial stitches.
[05:10] <~Maus_Riverbed> "...Yeah, I know.  I didn't think it'd..." he sighs, and gives up.
[05:10] <@Cecil> "It's alright. It can always be a surprise what opens it up."

[05:12] <Ryuu> "I think... I'll go ahead..." Ryuu said as he bowed in thanks to the day care lady, holding the egg with both hands, "Hope things continue to go well with your center."
[05:13] <Reinhard> "Right. MAUS! Will you be staying here for some time, or heading out with us? You should have SOMEONE to watch you while you are still hurt like that."
[05:13] <Camellia> "...It sounds like all of us have been through a lot in the past few days. I hope we don't keep running into each other on calls because we're the only Wanderers left in Ivoryscape right now." Camellia sighs. "A break is definitely called for, though who can say whether we'll be provided one?"
[05:14] <@Cecil> "Please, come back any time. We're always glad to have company...and we'd love to see your new friend when he hatches."
06[05:14] * Ryuu excuses himself, making sure to give his thanks and regards before leaving with his pokemon. He probably headed off to whereever he is staying in Ivoryscape.

[05:14] <~Maus_Riverbed> "I, uh... I'll stay out here, for now.  Can't exactly stop mid treatment... I guess."
[05:15] <@Cecil> "I'll be staying as well," Steve mentions. "Just to help out around here, after what happened. It's really my home." He laughs a little.
[05:16] <@Cecil> (Okay, at this point, I think I should divvy out the rewards for this session)
[05:17] <Reinhard> "Of course, of course... well, it is not ENTIRELY night yet. What say we go back to that cafe, then? I never even had a chance to ORDER."
[05:17] <@Cecil> (Everyone gets 4100 EXP for taking out the Mightyena and the ten Poochyena, and 1500 Poke apiece from the old guys. Except Ryuu. He gets 3800 EXP, 500 Poke, and the Snivy egg)
