- [18:16] <~Headlong> The Dullahans sit in the galley of the Tide Hauler, when they hear the engines turn off and the craft slow to a stop.
- [18:17] <~Headlong> The mission phone rings.
- [18:18] * Scribbles_ blinks as the mission phone breaks her train of thought. She looks up at Kopesh to see if he was busy.
- [18:18] * Kopesh picks up the phone. "Hello?"
- [18:20] * Rippedshadow ([email protected]) has joined #FruityRumpusAssholeFactory
- [18:20] * Rippedshadow is now known as Wishing_Well
- [18:20] <~Headlong> Headlong is on the other line. "Mr. Kopesh, is that you?"
- [18:21] <Kopesh> "Yep. What's up?"
- [18:22] <~Headlong> "Great! /One/ more thing I should tell you before you get off in Mane. Your contact, Mr. Barnsbee, is a very... very... Avoid...-ing him at all costs, all right?"
- [18:23] <Kopesh> "What?"
- [18:24] * Giddy feels odd. The closest approximation to the feeling is, to use an analogy, as if a record was to a lucid daydream what the needle scratching against the vinyl was to... Blank.
- [18:24] <~Headlong> "He's a very irritable old... just make sure he's always... All right? I really need to... Some jack-... is knocking on... Bye!"
- [18:26] * Kopesh sighs. "Always what?"
- [18:26] <~Headlong> The phone clicks off. Almost as soon as it does, the overhead speakers click on. "Hey, Anchor Steam here... we're heading through some thick fog. Comms are being interrupted, and our nav-radars are down. We're taking it slow, but we'll be there soon."
- [18:28] * Kopesh sighs again. "Yay..." He puts the phone away.
- [18:28] * Scribbles_ looks up at the overheard speaker and back to Kopesh. "Sounds like our line's been cut."
- [18:29] * Redshift just whistles to himself, oblivious to the goings-on.
- [18:30] <~Headlong> The Tide Hauler putters through the relatively placid waters. A bouy with a bell sounds in the distance as gentle waves sweep it up and down.
- [18:31] <Kopesh> "Mr. Barnsbee is very irritable and we need to make sure he's always somethine and at all costs adoid something-ing him."
- [18:32] * Redshift looks up, hearing that bell buoy. He looks out a porthole to see what he can see.
- [18:32] * Scribbles_ blinks. "Okay..." She went back to the notes on the table.
- [18:33] <~Headlong> Through the porthole, Redshift sees a mostly gray sea, blanketed by a low, hazy fog. He can make out the shadows of the buoy in the distance.
- [18:34] * Redshift watches those waves and the buoy off in the distance. He could watch the sea forever...
- [18:41] <~Headlong> There's a yawn as Keelhaul and the other deckhand trot down the stairs into the galley. Judging by the cook's flurry of ingridents levitating about her, anypony can judge that they're here for food, too.
- [18:42] * Redshift just watches those waves. And until he's called away by the others, he's going to stay there watching, tail swishing idly from time to time.
- [18:42] * Scribbles_ flops back against the couch and into Kopesh, wracking her brain over these case notes was finally starting to get to her.
- [18:43] <~Headlong> Sugar Cane's notepad calls out to Scribbles_, almost beckoning her to reexamine them.
- [18:45] * Scribs ([email protected]) has joined #FruityRumpusAssholeFactory
- [18:46] <~Headlong> The crew members chat idly with the cook, smirking and laughing as Keelhaul cracks a few jokes about the disappointing Superbowl last night. "Can't believe the Broncos got /thrashed/ as hard as they did."
- [18:46] * Scribbles_ ([email protected]) Quit ( Ping timeout: 121 seconds )
- [18:46] * Scribs is now known as Scribbles_

- [18:52] <~Headlong> The other stallion nods. "Pretty sure Seaddle was a shoe-in from the start... Don't even know /how/ you bet on the Broncs." Keelhaul shake his head and grabs a bowl of soothing chowder once it's ready.
- [18:54] * Redshift would comment on the game, but he's too busy looking out at the ocean.
- [18:55] * Scribbles_ rolls her eyes, she wasn't one to follow the sports and what not, never caught her interests.
- [18:55] <~Headlong> There's a slight lurching as something bumps the side of the Tide Hauler. "Ah... I think we're there, folks... Prepare to disembark... Keelhaul, Anchovy... Need you up here."
- [18:58] * Giddy doesn't look impressed. Bah, neither of them were the Falcons, anyway.
- [19:00] * Kopesh couldn't care less about the sports talk and pays it no mind. He gets up. "May as well head up."
- [19:00] <~Headlong> The two stallions scarf down their food and scurry topside, while the cook sighs.
- [19:01] * Scribbles_ gets up after him and gathers her notes. "Alright then."
- [19:04] <~Headlong> The notes seem reluctant to go. Topside, the fog that followed them for their entire journery lies low over Barn Harbor. Anchor Steam stands out on the bow, brow knitted in thought as she glances out at the fog. Keelhaul and Anchovy moor up the boat. The dock's sole inhabitant is asleep in the Harbor Master's shack.
- [19:07] * Scribbles_ tucks the notes away in her coat pocket and throws said coat on, buttoning it up.
- [19:08] <~Headlong> It's fairly chilly out. Scribbles_ was lucky to have that coat. Keelhaul tips his cap to each of them as they disembark on to the sturdy, wooden dock.
- [19:09] * Kopesh has his light jacket that he always wears over his barding. It doesn't do too much, but it's better than nothing.
- [19:13] * Giddy grumbles and starts heading out. On a whim, he checks his side for the flare gun.
- [19:15] <~Headlong> Keelhaul is right there when Giddy looks to his side. He offers Giddy said flare gun. "Here you go. You'll probably need this more than we will, right?"
- [19:16] * Giddy blinks. Right. Right, he takes the flare gun and rubs his head. "You ever have one of those days where your head is just..."
- [19:16] * Scribbles_ looks around the harbor as her attire keeps her snuggily and warm.
- [19:16] <~Headlong> Keelhaul makes a silly face. "All 'bleh'? All the time."
- [19:17] * PantzArt is now known as Pantzar
- [19:17] <~Headlong> Scribbles_ finds it hard to see much of the harbor. She /does/ see that there aren't any other boats moored at this dock.
- [19:17] * Giddy rubs his head. Bleh. That... Wasn't it, but he wasn't feeling like correcting him. "Yeah. Yeah, that's fine."
- [19:18] * Scribbles_ tilts her head. "Odd.. Must not be a popular place, don't think anypony would go out sailing in weather like this without good reason.
- [19:18] <~Headlong> Keelhaul frowns. "Right..."
- [19:19] <Kopesh> "Can't say I blame them."
- [19:21] <~Headlong> Anchor Steam pokes her head out of the cabin. "Pickup is tomorrow morning at 800 hours... Flare us if you need us, but we'll be up the coast refueling till then... All right?"
- [19:26] * Scribbles_ nods. "Eight in the morning, we'll be here." She said, still trying to pierce the fog with her eyes.
- [19:32] <~Headlong> Scribbles_ finds it almost impossible to see the town proper.
- [19:32] <~Headlong> Or much of anything else, either.
- [19:33] <~Headlong> Each of the members of The Bigger Boat salute the Dullahans as they shove off.
- [19:33] * Scribbles_ sighs and focuses on the important thing she should be looking at, where she's walking.
- [19:34] * Giddy frowns. He felt like he was in an old horror movie. "Hey." He frowns. "Where are we going?"
- [19:35] * Kopesh figures they ought to start walking and heads to land, making sure to walk slowly enough to spot any ledges before reaching them. "To a Mr, Barnsbee."
- [19:36] <~Headlong> There are signs that point them in the general direction, and there are railings to guide them, too. Eventually, a long staircase rises up into the fog.
- [19:37] * Scribbles_ follows the staircase with her eyes, scratching her neck.
- [19:39] * Giddy keeps walking. "What do we know about him?"
- [19:40] * Kopesh heads on up the staircase. "He's irritable. We needs to always keep him something and we must avoid somthing-ing him at all costs."
- [19:42] <~Headlong> At the top of the staircase, a good 20 yards ahead of the group, is a lamp post with an oil lamp, burning bright.
- [19:45] * Scribbles_ catches the light and sets a hoof on the first step. "Well.. It must be sturdy enough."
- [19:46] * Kopesh heads towards the lamp. Maybe a it'll have a sign too.
- [19:48] <~Headlong> It does, in fact. It points vaguely west. "Town Center", it says.
- [19:49] * Scribbles_ follows Kopesh and looks off towards the west, doubious that she'd be able to tell what the sign was talking about.
- [19:50] * Kopesh looks at the sign then to Scribbles_. "Hmm. Scribbles_, did that notepad of yours say anything about where we'd find him?"
- [19:53] * Scribbles_ nods fishes her notepad from her coat pocket, flipping through them to find the address.
- [19:54] * Pantzar ([email protected]) Quit ( Quit: It's a dud! It's a dud! It's a du... )
- [19:55] <~Headlong> Scribbles_ finds the address on the second page of the notebook. Calzone Mansion, hard to miss it.
- [19:57] * Scribbles_ nods. "Calzone Mansion, should be easy to spot."
- [19:58] * Kopesh looks around, trying to spot another light. "Well, I guess we should head West and try to spot it then."
- [20:01] * Kopesh heads West toward the Town Center.
- [20:01] <~Headlong> There aren't many other lights nearby. The group finds that there are cobblestone sidewalks that can lead them about.
- [20:08] <~Headlong> Eventually, these sidewalks turn into a wide circle. The fog seems to dissipate as they find themselves in a well-lit town Square. A harkening back to older towns like Trottingham, the entire square looks like it was pulled right out of a Sherclop Pones novel.
- [20:10] * Giddy does not seem amused. He fully expected to die here if he didn't shoot whatever the hell first. "... This is a fucking town square." Weren't they in Burrmuda?

- [20:15] <~Headlong> Giddy is in Mane. Kopesh is in Mane. Scribbles is in Mane. They are all in Mane.
- [20:16] * Giddy rubs his head. Ow. Right, they... Were in Mane. They were always in Mane. Why did he think they were in Burrmuda? They wouldn't ever send him anywhere fun. "... Right. This... Is Mane."
- [20:17] <~Headlong> The square is /empty/.
- [20:19] * Scribbles_ notices the emptiness of the square. "Weather must be bad for this area, not a soul outside."
- [20:21] * Kopesh looks around for another signpost.
- [20:21] * Redshift looks around to see what he can see.
- [20:22] <~Headlong> In the center of town, near a large, billowing fountain sits between four signposts.
- [20:23] * Kopesh has to say that he rather likes this place. Except for the fog and cold. He looks at the signs.
- [20:23] * Scribbles_ walks around the fountain, reading the signs.
- [20:24] * Headlong ([email protected]) Quit ( Connection closed )
- [20:24] * SpencerDespenser|GM ([email protected]) has joined #FruityRumpusAssholeFactory
- [20:24] * ChanServ sets mode +qo SpencerDespenser|GM SpencerDespenser|GM for #FruityRumpusAssholeFactory
- [20:24] * SpencerDespenser|GM is now known as Headlong
- [20:26] <~Headlong> The signs point to various places, like the Market, the Marina, the Theatre, and the Baths.
- [20:26] * Giddy looks around. "... Market. If there's people, they're at the market." He nods. "We should go there."
- [20:27] * Redshift yawns softly to himself. "So tell me," he says to nopony in particular. "Where do we go from here?" He looks to Giddy. "Sure, sure." Without invitation, he bounds forward and decides to check out the market. There had to be /something/ here!
- [20:28] * Scribbles_ looks around the square for any sign of the mansion they're hunting for.
- [20:28] * Giddy looks around. This was weird. He drew his flare gun out of instinct. Yes, like a bit of fire would help.
- [20:28] * Kopesh hmms. "If it's a big house, it'll likely be more toward the outskirts, but this is likely a small town and Giddy's right, People should know him. Let's head to the market then."
- [20:28] <~Headlong> Redshift is the first to arrive at the marketplace. Which is, depending on his point of view, surprisingly or unsurprisingly, empty.
- [20:29] * Giddy didn't mention the fact that he wanted to go there because the fact that there were no people creeped him out. And now, he's positive something's wrong. "... Are the windows the right language?" He mutters.
- [20:29] * Redshift frowns at that. OK, no, no. This was just creepy. Ears folding back at the eeriness of it all, unease seeping into his expression, he looks around, eyes and ears alert. Surely something was amiss?
- [20:30] <~Headlong> Scribbles_ finds it /very/ difficult to see through the fog encircling the square. The group had to run through a large fog bank to make it to the market, too.
- [20:31] * Kopesh joins Scribbles_ in looking for a large house on the way.
- [20:32] * Scribbles_ waves a the fog out of from in front of her face, displeased about the thickness of it all.
- [20:33] <~Headlong> Redshift spots a stall selling ParaSprite! Wow!
- [20:33] * Kopesh isn't too surprised that it's empty. He hmms again, continuing to look for signs, houses, and also what kinds of buildings if any are in the area.
- [20:33] * Redshift isn't all too thirsty at the moment, having already had a can of it back on the boat, but he edges closer to investigate.
- [20:34] * Scribbles_ strolls around the market, "Must be a holiday for this place to be this baron?"
- [20:34] <Kopesh> "Or worse."
- [20:34] <~Headlong> Kopesh finds that the architecture of the market matches that of the square. The entire thing taken straight from King Orchard's Fair, it seems.
- [20:35] <~Headlong> The closer he gets to the machine, the louder a familiar, mechanical whirring becomes to Redshift. It's a noise he's heard a thousand times before: the sound of a paper bit sliding into a vending machine.
- [20:36] * Scribbles_ investigates one of the empty stalls. "Maybe somepony left a sign or something."
- [20:36] * Kopesh looks for a shop to look into a window.
- [20:36] * Redshift blinks at that sound as his hooves stop. OK, OK. Maybe you were just paranoid. But after all that weird crap with the weird premonitions and...auuuuuugh. /That/ had been a disturbing dream. He shakes his mane. Without moving, he looks closer at the machine. Was there a paper bit jammed in the machine?
- [20:37] <~Headlong> Scribbles_ steps on a few pieces of paper as she approaches the stall. Kopesh finds that the haberdashery he's looking in is empty, too.
- [20:38] * Scribbles_ looks down at the paper, picking it up to give it a read.
- [20:38] <~Headlong> Redshift can see that there is, in fact, a wrinkled paper bit, endlessly sliding in and out of the machine, as though somepony had just left it there.
- [20:38] <~Headlong> It's an Equestrian paper bit. A 5$ one, too!
- [20:39] * Kopesh goes to try and open it.
- [20:39] <~Headlong> There's a few others scattered about at Scribbles' hooves.
- [20:39] * Redshift frowns. He takes the paper bit in a telekinetic grasp and tries to pull it free.
- [20:39] * Scribbles_ tsks and gathers them up. Silly littering ponies.
- [20:40] <~Headlong> The window is closed, but the front door is propped open. Redshift successfully removes the bit, once it's on the way out.
- [20:40] * Scribbles_ does have Thievery tagged, after all.
- [20:41] * Kopesh heads inside trying to look for signs of recent use or if it's been empty for a while.
- [20:41] * Giddy feels very glad that he drew his flare gun, heading for Redshift. "Kid. Check the bit and see when it was printed."
- [20:41] * Scribbles_ tucks the bits away into her coat pocket, better in there than on the ground.
- [20:42] * Redshift frowns, staring at the bit. He does as asked, taking a look at the bit....
- [20:43] <~Headlong> It was printed this year. It's worn, but definitely printed this year.
- [20:43] <~Headlong> It's a shiny, 1$ note.
- [20:44] * Giddy checks another one.
- [20:45] <~Headlong> Giddy doesn't find another one, unless they're his own.
- [20:45] * Redshift looks to Giddy. "It was printed this year." He pockets the single bit and looks to the others. "The sign mentioned a marina. I'm gonna go check it out." He makes a dash for it!
- [20:46] * Giddy starts nodding and heading that way. Maybe they'd find the boat.
- [20:46] * Kopesh looks inside the haberdashery, looking for what he posted before.
- [20:46] <~Headlong> Redshift and Giddy find themselves heading back the way they came. Back the marina. Where they already were.
- [20:47] * Redshift dashes along as quickly as he could. Running was the only way to get anywhere! Walking was for losers! He hums. So /that/ was the marina. "Alright...I'm checking out the theater." Off he runs!
- [20:48] <~Headlong> Kopesh finds the habedashery without a clerk, or any patrons. He finds the cash register open, and paper bits on the table. A hat, a noble, black bowler, rests on the counter next to the money, unpurchased.
- [20:49] * Kopesh nods. Seemed likely. He heads back out to tell the others. "It looks just like whoever was here before just vanished."
- [20:49] * Scribbles_ blinks. "You think our friend in the mansion did the same?
- [20:50] <~Headlong> Redshift is running quite quickly to a large movie theater. It advertises that "Starswirl Superstari is playing there tomorrow.
- [20:50] <~Headlong> Kopesh finds only Scribbles in the center of town.
- [20:50] <~Headlong> Center of the Market*
- [20:51] * Kopesh shrugs. "We won't know for sure unless we find it. Where are the others?"
- [20:51] <~Headlong> Redshift spots numerous slips of paper on the ground, forming almost a trail down the sidewalk closest to the theater.
- [20:51] * Redshift blinks, as he slows to a trot to examine the slips of paper. He picks one up to read it.
- [20:53] <~Headlong> "Admit One: Starswirl Superstar, Afternoon Matinee Price, 11:45." it says.
- [20:53] * Redshift looks to the other slips of paper. Were they all identical?
- [20:54] * Scribbles_ looks around. "Well we've been to the Marina and we're in the market, we head to teh square and pick another path, 50/50 we'll meet up with them.
- [20:54] <~Headlong> Most of the slips he finds are identical. Some are for another show, "Wolf of Wallstreet: Genorosity".
- [20:54] * Kopesh nods and starts for the square. "And maybe even that house."
- [20:55] * Redshift picks up those slips one-by-one, as he heads into the theater to investigate.
- [20:55] <~Headlong> He doesn't find a single movie going patron, or theater employee on his way. He /does/, however, hear a film playing in both theaters.
- [20:56] * Scribbles_ follows Kopesh looking at the remaining signs. "Theatre or the Baths. Where do you think they ran off to?"
- [20:56] * Redshift 's ear perks up. He looks around, at the ticket stands, at the concession stands, at the bathrooms. WHat about there? Anything to be seen?
- [20:57] <~Headlong> He finds more money on the ticket booth, and at the concession stands. A drink machine has been overfilling a cup of Sparkle Cola for what seems like hours. A sink runs in the bathroom, soaking the floors.
- [20:58] * Giddy starts to feel faint. Shit. Shiiiit. "... This is a bad place to be." He mutters. "Probably the baths." He said.
- [20:58] <Kopesh> "The kids probably went to the theater, but Giddy might have gone for the baths too."
- [20:58] * Redshift decides to leave the money where it is, looking about. Strange...he goes into the auditoriums.
- [20:59] * Scribbles_ looks towards the theatre, "I don't think splitting up is a good idea, but I don't want to leave Giddy alone in this town either."
- [21:00] <~Headlong> Redshift finds rows and rows of empty seats. There's a fairly catchy song playing on the screen. Seems Starswirl Superstar is a musical!
- [21:01] * Giddy starts to head for the bathhouse, flaregun primed and ready. He didn't know really how to use it as a weapon, but he knew enough to aim up and pull trigger.
- [21:01] <Kopesh> "We should stick together. They chose to seperate. That's on them. We should probably go after the kid first although Giddy is more valuable."
- [21:02] * Redshift frowns at all of this. He heads back to the lobby. Eh...why not? While he had the chance, he takes the money left behind before he heads off to look in the other auditorium.
- [21:02] <~Headlong> Giddy finds a large, wooden structure with several chimneys, steam pouring out of them and fizzling into the air. The front doors to the baths are open.
- [21:03] * Scribbles_ nods. "Giddy's armed, and I'm sure he's been in a fight." She heads for the Theatre, looking around as she walks.
- [21:04] <~Headlong> Scribbles_ and Kopesh have to journey through the fog again before arriving at the theater. They can see Redshift looting when they arrive.
- [21:04] * Giddy looks in through the door. Hell if anything was gonna get him and... His head began to hurt again. Somepony else. Urg.
- [21:05] * Redshift takes what he can, as he goes on to look around. Was there an entrance to the screening rooms where the projectors were?
- [21:05] * Kopesh walks over to Redshift. "There you are. We shouldn't seperate. Find anything?"
- [21:05] * Scribbles_ trots up to Redshift, taking a look around the theatre for herself.
- [21:05] * Redshift turns his head back over to Kopesh as he speaks. "Nope. Nothing. That's what bugs me." He keeps looking for that projector room entrance.
- [21:06] <~Headlong> Inside, Giddy can see a receptionistless receptionist's desk. A terminal and a guestbook sit there. Around him are several doors that lead to different saunas and bathing pools.
- [21:07] <~Headlong> Redshift sees two doors, marked "Employees Only". Further investigation shows that they're locked.
- [21:08] * Redshift turns back. If there were doors for employees only, chances were there was a key somewhere about. He goes back to the main lobby and ticket stands, poking about to see if there is one!
- [21:09] * Kopesh watches Redshift run about. "We're going to track down Giddy."
- [21:09] * Giddy creeps on inside, pointing his flare gun around as if he were a bad mimic of a SWAT team.
- [21:10] <~Headlong> Redshift finds nothing of the sort inthe lobby or ticket stands.
- [21:10] * Redshift looks to Kopesh. "We heading out now?"
- [21:10] * Scribbles_ watches Redshift on his search of the ticket stands. "What're you looking for there?"
- [21:10] * Redshift looks up to Scribbles_. "You see that door over there?" He points at the doors marked "Employees Only". "I'm looking for keys."
- [21:11] <Kopesh> "We should. We should stick together. We have plenty of time to search everywhere once we've met up."
- [21:11] * Scribbles_ scratches her chin, taking a look around the ticket stand.
- [21:11] <~Headlong> The floorboards creek under Giddy's weight, showing the building's age. He's in the middle of the room, now.
- [21:13] * Giddy stepped gingerly upon the floorboards and checked behind the receptionist's desk for... Some sort of documentation. A newspaper or what have you.
- [21:14] <~Headlong> Scribbles_ sees nothing that Red hadn't. Just a bunch of slips of paper on the ground.
- [21:15] * Redshift nods to Kopesh. "OK, OK. Let's go, ready when you are."
- [21:15] * Scribbles_ turns out of the ticket booth, "Alright, lead on Kopesh."
- [21:16] * Kopesh turns and heads back to the square with the intent of heading to the baths.
- [21:17] <~Headlong> Giddy finds a newspaper, folded and tucked away under the guest book. There's also the terminal. And the guestbook itself.
- [21:17] <~Headlong> Back through the fog the others go, and back into the square, then back through it again, then to the baths!
- [21:18] * Giddy proceeds to open the newspaper and read the headline while flipping open the guestbook and pressing the space bar on the terminal. He does all of these at the same time because he is a free Equestrian.
- [21:20] <~Headlong> He's also a cheaty unicorn. He finds the headline talking about Princess Sparkle's State of Equestria Address from last night. The guestbook has entries up till this morning, the last being a Mr. Barnsbee. The terminal is locked.
- [21:20] * Redshift trots with Kopesh.
- [21:20] * Kopesh heads on inside the bathhouse.
- [21:20] * Scribbles_ follows Kopesh to the baths.
- [21:22] * Giddy reads the newspaper article and starts going through the desk drawers.
- [21:23] * Redshift follows through into the baths.
- [21:24] <~Headlong> It's an overview of the address, talking about the recent kidnapping of famed musician Sweetie Belle, the recent discovery of oil deposits in Saddle Arabia, and plans for this year's Summer Sun Celebration. Very important stuff.
- [21:24] <~Headlong> The desk drawyers are /also/ locked.
- [21:26] * Giddy glares at the drawers. Oh, fuck this. He flips through the most recent few guests at the bath house.
- [21:27] <~Headlong> There's a Mr. Barnsbee, a Mrs. Hoostrong and two others with that last name, a Mrs. Clementine, and a Mr. Cane.
- [21:28] <~Headlong> As he flips, the rest arrive to the open doors of the Bathhouse.
- [21:28] * Rime|P ([email protected]) has joined #FruityRumpusAssholeFactory
- [21:29] * Scribbles_ peeks into the bathhouse, looking around the place.
- [21:29] <~Headlong> Scribbles_ sees exactly what Giddy did. She also sees Giddy!
- [21:29] * Giddy rubs his head. Cane. Cane. Hickory Cane? No. Sugar Cane? Maybe.
- [21:30] <~Headlong> Just a "Mr. Cane." There's no way to tell, is there?
- [21:30] * Scribbles_ trots over to Giddy. "What do you have there?"
- [21:32] * Giddy looks up and pushes the newspaper and the guestbook forward. "Barnsbee's been here. Most recent log." He looks down. "Locked terminal, locked drawer."
- [21:32] <Kopesh> "No time stamp?"
- [21:32] * Redshift perks up at the mention of a locked terminal. To Giddy, he asks: "Can I give it a shot?"
- [21:32] * Scribbles_ reads through the list of names. "Clementine and Cane?"
- [21:33] * Giddy nickers and flops his hoof. "Knock yourself out."
- [21:33] * Redshift gives it his very best...!
- [21:35] * Scribbles_ goes through the list of names again, making sure ponies actually signed the guestbook instead of the clerk singing for them while she fished Sugar Cane's notes from her coat pocket.
- [21:35] <~Headlong> Redshift's third hacking attempt results in a success! He reveals a guest directory, a few log entries dated froma few weeks back, and a single message from a local terminal entilted "Scipio."
- [21:36] * Redshift pumps a hoof into the air. "Awwww yeah." He takes a look at that one message that catches his eye. What's "Scipio"?
- [21:38] <~Headlong> "T, I guess they're stopping here on their Atlantic tour. Should be pretty cool, right? Wanna go see it? Catch dinner at Dorsia? Yours, P."
- [21:39] <~Headlong> The message says no more.
- [21:39] * Kopesh instictivly answers. "It was a ceremonial staff held by people of rank in ancient Roam."
- [21:39] * Redshift looks up from the screen. "What, a Scipio?"
- [21:40] * Kopesh walks over to Redshift and looks at the screen. "Yes. Why do you ask?"
- [21:41] * Redshift points at the screen, at the message. "Because of that. I dunno about you, but it sure doesn't sound like anything about some old staff."
- [21:42] * Kopesh hmms. "Latin is often used mephorically nowadays. It might mean it's from someone important or about someone important."
- [21:43] * Redshift shrugs. "Well, who're T and R? And where's Dorsia?"
- [21:43] * Headlong ([email protected]) Quit ( Ping timeout: 121 seconds )
- [21:44] * Giddy looks at the drawer. "Sounds like a restaurant."
- [21:54] * SpencerDespenser|GM ([email protected]) has joined #FruityRumpusAssholeFactory
- [21:54] * ChanServ sets mode +qo SpencerDespenser|GM SpencerDespenser|GM for #FruityRumpusAssholeFactory
- [21:54] * SpencerDespenser|GM is now known as Headlong
- [22:01] <~Headlong> Kopesh has eaten at Dorsia before, at a Professor's banquet. He remembers that the emotions they provided that night were /exquisite/. It's a very classy establishment, but certainly not in driving distance from Barn Arbor. Did they open a second one/
- [22:01] <~Headlong> ?
- [22:02] <Kopesh> "Dorsia's pretty damn far away. Unless there's more than one."
- [22:02] <~Headlong> Scribbles_ finds that the hoofwritings of the two are the same. Exactly.
- [22:03] * Scribbles_ nods, jotting that down in her notes. "Mister Cane's been here, we must be right on his trail."
- [22:12] * Giddy frowns. "Where do we go?"
- [22:12] * Redshift looks up at Kopesh. "What, you know this joint?"
- [22:13] <Kopesh> "Yeah. Fancy place. Good quality stuff, though not usually what I'm into."
- [22:14] * Redshift perks up. "And you think this place has another branch?"
- [22:14] * Scribbles_ copies the guestbook page featuring Mister Cane and the others into her notes, looking for any time stamps.
- [22:15] <Kopesh> "I don't have the faintest idea. They just have the same name."
- [22:15] * Redshift shrugs. "Well, for starters, it'd begreat if we knew where it was."
- [22:15] * Redshift ([email protected]) Quit ( Connection closed )
- [22:16] <~Headlong> The earliest entry was this morning, at around 8:45 for Mr. Barnsbee. Mr. Cane was there yestrday at midnight.
- [22:16] * RadioHooves ([email protected]) has joined #FruityRumpusAssholeFactory
- [22:17] * RadioHooves is now known as Redshift
- [22:18] * Scribbles_ tilts her head, she new most investigators worked under cover of darkness, but midnight is a tad suspicios.
- [22:19] <Kopesh> "The one I've been to is in Manehatten."
- [22:22] <Redshift> "Well, should we go poking around for a restaurant?"
- [22:22] * Giddy grunts. "... What kind of food does the Dorsia serve?"
- [22:22] * Redshift ([email protected]) Quit ( Connection closed )
- [22:23] <Kopesh> "The usually fancy stuff."
- [22:25] * Redshift ([email protected]) has joined #FruityRumpusAssholeFactory
- [22:26] * Giddy rolls his hoof. "Seafood?"
- [22:27] <Kopesh> "Of course. It's name does mean reefs."
- [22:29] * Redshift blinks at that. "Huh. Well. If it's a seafood restaurant, it's probably somewhere by the shoreline, right?"
- [22:32] * Giddy nods. Now they get it. "Then odds are it's by the Marina, isn't it?"
- [22:32] * Scribbles_ looks out in the direction she thinks the ocean is. "Well, this is a port town, maybe some fisherponies sell their catches out that way."
- [22:33] * Redshift nods. "But first, hold on. I want to read what's on these logs first." He looks at the screen. What's left to read?
- [22:35] <~Headlong> Redshift finds some transcripts of conversations between T and P, asking about how they're going to see eachother once "it comes to town", and if the new Dorsia is going up on time for them to get reservations, and if T's mother likes him.
- [22:36] <~Headlong> Finally, Redshift finds an electronic copy of the guestbook that dates back /years/ before the paper one on the desk.
- [22:36] * Redshift hms. "What I'd like to know," he speaks out loud, "is who these T and P are." He blinks at the guestbook, humming, as he sifts through it on the screen.
- [22:36] * Wishing_Well is now known as Rippedshadow
- [22:36] * Rippedshadow ([email protected]) Quit ( Quit: ChatZilla 0.9.90.1 [Firefox 26.0/20131205075310] )
- [22:37] * Scribbles_ scoots over, looking at the digital guestbook. "Employees, chances are."
- [22:38] <Kopesh> "Looks more like customers that are wanting to reserve for an occasion."
- [22:39] <~Headlong> Some names look familiar to Scribbles_ and Redshift. Among them are "Task Manager", "Headlong", "Waterworks", "Anchor Steam", "Relic", and "Forest Green."
- [22:39] <~Headlong> Those dates however, were at least a year or two old.
- [22:41] * Scribbles_ tilts her head again before making a note of the familiar names. "Either this is a really good bathhouse, or we aren't the first task force to poke around here..." She scratches her chin with her eraser, "Maybe..."
- [22:43] <Kopesh> "Do any of those messages say where it is?"
- [22:43] * Redshift blinks. "Um...guys?"
- [22:44] * Redshift is particularly astounded at the mention of Forest. What had she been doing here? Was it the same Forest?
- [22:44] <~Headlong> How many other Forest Greens does Redshift know?
- [22:45] * Redshift knows no other, but still...
- [22:45] * Scribbles_ looks up at the others, "Guys, I'm thinking we can see to a dinner party later. It's not like we're going much of anywhere until morning."
- [22:48] <Kopesh> "You gonna answer my question? OR are we just going to walk around and hope to find it and the house?"
- [22:49] * Redshift ([email protected]) Quit ( Quit: Page closed )
- [22:49] * Redshift ([email protected]) has joined #FruityRumpusAssholeFactory
- [22:50] * Giddy looks through the book again for anyone he knew. Seeing Redshift's shock sparked an idea.
- [22:51] <~Headlong> Giddy sees all those names above. He definitely knows them. He also sees, further down, almost 15 years ago, his father's name.
- [22:52] * Giddy looks at it. He stares at it. And then he closes the book. "This is not a place."
- [22:53] <~Headlong> It's one of the first entries in that book, also. The computer terminal goes back much further.
- [22:54] * Giddy looks at Redshift. "Kid. Look on that computer and see who the first person on the guest list you can find is."
- [22:55] * Redshift looks to the guest list.
- [22:55] * Scribbles_ tilts her head, taking the book for herself again, opening it up.
- [22:56] * Giddy scratches his chin. He looks conflicted, like he had been presented a puzzle cube and is contemplating how to break it in just the right way to be able to put it back again in the right order.
- [22:57] <~Headlong> Scribbles_ finds the first entry, 15 years ago, belonging to Dale Oakheart Sr. Redshift finds the /very/ first entry, a whopping 213 years ago, belongs to a "Princess Luna."
- [22:58] * Redshift blinks at that. "Um..." He tuns his head to Giddy. "The first guest? It was Princess Luna. No joke. Take a look."
- [22:59] * Scribbles_ blinks, leaning over to look at the digital guestbook.
- [23:00] * Giddy doesn't look surprised in the least. "This is not a place." He stares at Redshift. "I want you to think very long and very hard, kid. You saw someone you recognized in that book. I won't press it. But really, really think back. Do you ever remember them saying that they went to a bathhouse in Maine?
- [23:02] * Kopesh thinks about it. "It certainly fits. Explains why Dorsia is here too."
- [23:03] <~Headlong> Scribbles_ finds the next few entries a bit more believeable. Princess Celestia signed right beneath Princess Luna, in identical hoofwriting. Beneath that are a few royal guard names, as well as a nearly illegible signature that only clearly ends with "-ed".
- [23:04] * Redshift ponders. Had Forest ever mentioned something like that?
- [23:04] * Scribbles_ nods. "I thought something was fishy 'round here." She said, taking a seat and reading through the entries.
- [23:04] <~Headlong> She probably hasn't. It seems that she only ever wants to talk about Red...
- [23:05] * Redshift shakes his head at Giddy's query. "Not that I remember." He sighs. "None of this makes any sense."
- [23:07] * Giddy raises his flare gun. "Yeah. It doesn't. Because I don't remember any trophies on the wall that said Mane anywhere." He thinks back. "Thing number one. We are in the SCP. Thing number two. We are not in Mane. Thing number three, it knows relatives of ours."
- [23:08] * Giddy starts cutting through the bath house, looking on edge and looking for anything off.
- [23:09] <~Headlong> Y̲̯͎oÌ͎̦̰͕͚͔u̻͚̦͈͎ Ì Í–Í™ÌºÌ™a͈̦͉̗̦̳̰rÍ͇̟̗e͉̜̘͉̱͈ ̲͚iÍŽÌŸṉ͉ ̜̰͜M̛̹̩̦͓aÍ̹͕Ì̤n͓̖̞̦͇͔̮eÌ´Ì®Ì®Í‰Ì¼Ì¬Ì .ÍŸ Ò‰Ì¥Ì Ì¼Ì³WÍ Í…Ì˜Ì£ÍŽÌ°hÌ›enÌ´ÍŽ ̞̫̰̦̮Íh̴͓̪a̯Ìv̛͚̙è͉͙̫̻͉ Í“Ì²Ì²Ì¥Ì yÌ ÌÌ¹Ì ÍšoÍ¢u̹ ͖̟͙͈̗ͅͅeÌ̗͔̹vÍ̪̩̞̮eÌ´Ì˜Ì Ì£r ͎̣͔n̳̟͓̳̬͢oÌ¢t̥͓ Ì¡bÌ Í™ÍšÍ…Ì¹ÍŽÌ®ee͈͉̦̼n͚̲̗̤̫?ÍžÌ¤Ì®Í–Ì Ì¯Í…Ì®
- [23:10] * Scribbles_ looks up from the terminal, "Sounds familiar. One minute we're in one place, the next we're in another."
- [23:13] <~Headlong> Giddy finds nothing. Absolutely nothing.
- [23:13] * Redshift suddenly feels a rush of alar at Giddy's words, as he too searches. Something wasn't right.
- [23:14] * Scribbles_ keeps shuffling through the guestbook entries, taking note of the particuarlly interesting ones.
- [23:15] <~Headlong> There's a cough from the open door. "Is something the matter? Could've sworn this place was closed on Sundays, eh wot?" an older stallion asks.
- [23:15] * Redshift jumps at the sudden voice, whipping his head to face the stallion. "Whoa whoa whoa!" Eyes wide, he blinks at the stallion. "WHo're you?"
- [23:16] <Redshift> *?!"
- [23:16] * Scribbles_ looks up from the terminal, looking towards the door*
- [23:16] * Giddy wheels over with his flare gun. He looked tense and unnerved. "Who are you, and what are you doing here?"
- [23:16] <Kopesh> "Mr. Barnsbee?"
- [23:17] <~Headlong> A stallion in a comfy-looking suit and silk ascot blinks at the frantic ponies, and the weapon being pointed at him. "G-Good P-Princesses! What the devil is all this?"
- [23:17] * Redshift blinks at Kopesh. "You know this guy?!"
- [23:17] * Kopesh looks at Giddy. "Lower that, would you?"
- [23:18] * Scribbles_ gets up, "Please, Giddy." She says, walking over to introduce herself to the stallion.
- [23:18] * Giddy shakes his head and lowers it. "Stop. Tell me, where are we right now?"
- [23:19] <~Headlong> The stallion frantically looks between Giddy, Scribbles_, and Kopesh. "Y-Yes... I'm M-Mr. Barnsbee... I'm the Mayor of Barn Habor... and what are you all doing in my bathhouse?!"
- [23:20] * Redshift has apparently been ignored amidst all this, so he looks to the stallion. "The question is, where is everypony else?!"
- [23:20] <Kopesh> "Being relieved to see that another person is here."
- [23:20] * Kopesh holds up his hooves. "He's not threatening us. Calm down!"
- [23:21] <~Headlong> Barnsbee scrunches his muzzle. "They're outside, enjoying the lovely day! The baths are /closed/ on Sundays!"
- [23:21] * Scribbles_ nods. "We've yet to find somepony else. I'm sorry for my friend's rash behavior, he's easy to spook." She explains, looking back at Giddy.
- [23:22] * Redshift blinks at Barnsbee. "Listen, old man. Just look outside. Nopony's there. Just take a look!"
- [23:22] * Kopesh looks at Redshift. "Would you shut up?"
- [23:23] * Redshift looks daggers at Kopesh, but steps back and says nothing.
- [23:23] * Scribbles_ was about to say that, "They're both pretty spooked, sorry." She apologies.
- [23:24] <~Headlong> Barnsbee looks very flustered. With a huff, he turns outside and looks out at the... bustling, bright, sunny midday streets of Barn Harbor.
- [23:24] * Scribbles_ leans to the side, looking outside past Barnsbee.
- [23:24] <~Headlong> The streets are littered with ponies, smiling at each other and waving.
- [23:24] <~Headlong> It's a lovely day, too.
- [23:25] * Kopesh looks back at Barnsbee. "Yes, we're... well, we don't know what we're experiencing. To us, the streets were just empty and extremly foggy."
- [23:25] * Redshift gapes at the sight now presented to him. "Wha...?"
- [23:26] * Scribbles_ scratches her head with her pencil eraser. "I'll be.." She mutters, taking this chance to get a look at Mr. B
- [23:27] <~Headlong> Barnsbee looks dubiously at all of them. "What... you all in that... MK Ultra experiment or something?" He's a stallion, unicorn, in his mid 70's, but a handsome devil at that. His face is still youthful, and he holds himself with the grandeur of a man a third his age. A pipe floats at his side.
- [23:28] <Kopesh> "MK Ultra experiment?"
- [23:28] * Scribbles_ shakes her head, "I'm afraid that doesn't ring any bells."
- [23:29] <~Headlong> He dismisses the thought with a wave. "Nevermind you, just... Just get out of my bathhouse, please?"
- [23:30] * Scribbles_ nods and offers a smile, "Just one little thing. Do you reconize the name Headlong at all, sir?"
- [23:31] <~Headlong> He purses his lips. "Yay high, olive mane? Glasses?" He says, raising a hoof off the ground to a little above his head.
- [23:35] * Scribbles_ smiles and nods. "On the money."
- [23:38] * Giddy narrows his eyes. "Sounds about right. Can you tell me if you remember 'Running Stripes'?" Equestrian Motor Sports were maybe a tad racist to his dad since he didn't even bother to hide his real name, but he assured a young him that a zebra named "Xander" would never sell.
- [23:40] <~Headlong> Barnsbee looks pleased to have guessed. "Ah yes... I never forget a guest that stays in my baths! Mr. Stripes, yes I did! He came her quite a lot before he made it pro... he and that Oakheart fellow... I... I regret not attending his funeral." The stallion frowns slightly.
- [23:43] * Giddy narrowed his eyes. That was before he went pro, so... It kinda checks out. But he didn't like the fact that he hadn't really talked about this place. "Where are we?"
- [23:43] <Kopesh> "Is there a Dorsia in town?"
- [23:44] * Scribbles_ stops Giddy. "I think Mr. B would rather answer the rest of our questions over lunch." She suggests, offering a smile to the old stallion.
- [23:44] <~Headlong> Barnsbee frowns. "One at a time please..." He sucks his teeth. "You're in Barn Harbor, in my bathhouse. How was that not cl-"
- [23:44] <~Headlong> "Lunch! Magnificent idea!"
- [23:44] <~Headlong> "There's a new Dorsia in town that I've yet to try! This way, fillies and gentlecolts!"
- [23:46] * Scribbles_ looks back at the group and follows Mr. B's lead, taking out her notepad and jotting down his physical features.
- [23:47] <Kopesh> That was kinda weird, but at least they're not in trouble. He follows him out. "So, what can you tell us about this town?"
- [23:49] * Giddy is extremely suspicious of this whole situation. Bullshit, he knew what he saw.
- [23:50] <~Headlong> He leads them back through a familiar path, through the now bustling town. As he leads them to Dorsia, he spins Kopesh the yarn about the founding of this town. "Princess Celestia gave my family this plot of land as payment for our services in building the royal baths of Canterlot! That was almost 300 years ago, it seems. Since then, my family has run this town like clockwork!"
- [23:51] <Kopesh> "You like it here? It is a nice small town?"
- [23:52] * Giddy rose his eyebrow. "You were here three hundred years ago?"
- [23:52] <~Headlong> Barnsbee smiles. "Absolutely. The residents here are very happy, and we're a very close-knit community." Barnsbee frowns at Giddy. "No... By Luna, do I look that old?"
- [23:53] * Giddy shakes his head. "No." He replied simply. He seemed always teetering on the edge of some sort of breakthrough, but he wasn't getting at it.
- [23:54] * Scribbles_ takes down some notes. "Has there ever been a history of, I dunno, supernatural, oddities, anomolies around here?"
- [23:55] <~Headlong> Barnsbee stops. "If you're asking me if I'm smelling fudge, come out and say it, then." He says before resuming his trot.
- [23:55] * Scribbles_ blinks. "I take it Headlong was here for the same reason we are.."
- [23:55] <Kopesh> "I think what she's asking is, if you've smelled fudge before."
- [23:56] <~Headlong> "Not exactly... Here, let's get to Dorsia first."
