- There was a slight cold breeze. Flowers were standing stiff, cover in blankets of soft snow. Snow were still hanging on the trees, but still dripping little drops of water making the tree's leaves leaned heavy.
- Clouds were slowly about to leave the melted vast valley.
- Lights glimmering behind the mountains making soft rays of orange light, landing and spilling the white hill.
- Glimmering rays landed on a shack covered in vines with cauliflowers, which still hasn't awaken from it's sleep in the winter. Once the glimmering thin rays slip through the shack's wooden ceiling into the room the beaming light struck at our young fairy's eye.
- Stem tighten his eye lids in annoyance. He started groaning.
- "Ugh...the sun is out?"
- As much he love to stay in the bed with a blanket that give him that warm feeling of protection from the room's unwelcoming cold air from the outside but he can't he made a promise to his mom that he'll wake up at the crack of dawn so they can get ready for the special "event", Not only that but his mom just already left the bed.
- Stem groan and brace himself for the cold wall of air. Stem gets out of bed and already his legs and face were shaking.
- "Oh, Mom why do you do this to me?" thought Stem.
- As he gets out of his mom's room he floats his way through the hallway of pictures. Once he was out of the hallway he was in the living room with two doors, leading the main house entrance and the other leads to the kitchen, he entered the door that leads to the kitchen figuring his mom would be waiting in the kitchen.
- As he open the door he saw his mom, a Florges with hedges of Blue pedals with small yellow star like flowers, munching through the basket's Oran berries, that they saved for the special "event".
- His eyelids shrank in horror.
- "She didn't heard me entered the room and she's still munching like a mankey!" Stem thought "And all that hard work of searching Oran berries in the forest before winter for nothing!" He screamed in his thoughts.
- "Mom!" Stem exclaimed.
- Stem's mother jumped and almost choked by his son's yelling, she fall down to her knees and spitted out chewed Oran berries from her mouth, leaving out tiny pools of saliva fusing with a blue color on the kitchen floor. Stem looked away in disgust.
- When she was done choking she grab all the blueberries, that were in the counter, and quickly put them in the basket grab a sheet and put it on top of the basket in a disorganize way and finally turn back in front of his son. Stem's mom tried her best to look natural, while looking up at the ceiling and tapping her finger, and not suspicious as if she was just waiting for him.
- ".....Good morning! My little seed!" her mom said proudly yet shaken.
- "Mom! How many did you eaten!?" His son yelled.
- "Umm..." His mother's head started to feel warm.
- "...just...c-counting? Yes! Counting! Counting how many Oran berries we have for the 'event'! Yep! That's...what I'm doing. Yep!"
- His mother's forehead starts to sweat like rain drops landed on her face.
- Stem groan and push his mother aside.
- He lifts up one of the sheets' edge looking through the shadows of water with blue dots in it, Stem was not surprise. They're were only 7 berries left in the basket he had 34 berries, before his mom ate them, enough for them to share. Unfortunately, fate has it's calling. Stem groaned even more.
- "Mom" Stem looked at his mom. "Why did you ate almost ate all the berries?! I've been saving it for the both of us! Don't you know how long it took me to find all those berries from the forest?!" He glared at his mom still have berries on her clutched hand, while hiding her arm on her back.
- "Um..."
- "I thought we agree on 'no eating berries rule,' he interrupt his mom ' I mean I sometimes screw stuff up and get in trouble I even learn my consequences and I'm totally fine with that! But NO...you just HAD to break the rule just because your the parent, huh? You parents think you could do WHATEVER you want and never worry about getting grounded because your mom isn't here, huh? Now we have only seven berries, which is not enough to keep us busy during the 'event', AND I'M ALREADY STARVING!"
- Stem panted tirelessly after his last breath. Awkward silence occurs in the kitchen room. His mom did nothing but stare at his breathing son. She looked at her arm, where the berries are hiding in her hand she sighed and she let her arm reach and open her hand revealing the berries.
- "Wants' some of mine?" Her mother smiled, while showing her teeth.
- Stem clear his throat. "Yes. Thank you..."
- - -----------------------------------------------------------------
- Once, the two fairies finally left the house they started hovering above the melting white flakes. Stem and his mom, Floral, were heading to they're location.
- Stem rubbed his crusted eyes in hoping this 'Event' will be quick. Stem may not be a morning pokemon, but if theirs one thing that makes up everything for Stem's tiredness is the Town's main Circle: "Florals' circle", a place were all the Florges hang out, shop, eat berries and, rarely, date each other, Stem had always loved that place ever since they moved in to the community he go buy some berries that's hard to find in the forest, he would visit an old dragon and listen to his complaints on how things were better back in the 'good 'ol days', he could go check out the decorations from other Florges, get his picture painted by a smergal who can take fictional request or self-portrait, get a job at the "Floral circles' pokepuff shop, sit peacefully at plaza's main fountain, and best of all...
- ...the community have absolutely no idea that there was a boy in their community.
- Yes, it is the truth as ridiculous this may sound, Stem has seen and always been a girl in the public's eye, while the community have a reputation on spreading rumors and discovering it as if it was a hidden treasure, though some rumors may be fake or not proven with evidence, Stem have manage to stay off the suspicion's radar and do you know why he isn't being rumored, or even spotted curiously? Let me put it in ONE complete sentence.
- Florges are unable to be male
- For those who don't know the Florges species are considered an 100% female only, there were was never a male Florges before and it will never happen until Stem was born. It's the one thing that Stem refuse to reveal to ANYONE and it was way to easy for him to do it, since no one would believe a male pokemon in a 100% species would exist, and his ambition voice makes him more camouflage, thus making Stem feel safe.
- But why is he hiding his gender from the public's eye, exactly? Well as much as I eager to tell you, but I refuse to acknowledge his motivation. For now, let us head back to our fairies.
- As they finally reach the're destination the Plaza is swarmed with florges around the area, with different kinds of colors from the bush wrapped around their neck, and even on the surface making the plaza look a little darker than usual mornings, making Stem filled cluttered and needed some space to breath.
- "Mom, I'll be at the pokepuff shop to catch some air, okay?" Stem raise his voice in order to get his mom's attention through the flooded voices around the plaza, luckily his mom heard him.
- "Okay, little seed! Have fun!" His mom shouted.
- "...AND STOP CALLING ME A SEED FOR ARECUES SAKE!" He shouted back.
- As he finally squeeze through the crowed he leaned against on one of the pokepuffs' decorated flowers the spot may not be as big but it's enough space to inhale. "Phew! For a second there I thought I was about to suffocate there." As he took a deep breath feeling relief he let out an exile feeling his chest relax and closed his eyes trying to imagine a big space platform around them.
- As his eyes are started to feel heavy...
- ...a big WHIP landed on his forehead making him completely wide awake.
- "OW!" He frequently looked around the crowed.
- "WHO DID THAT?!" He yelled, none of the crowed heard him. Stem groan.
- "Kids..."
- "You said it, Pretty boy!"
- Stem froze as he recognize that accent. It's one of those accents that are just plain annoying to Stem. He can't think of anyone to speak in that accent, but for one specific pokemon and it's none other than the mischievous news reporter, Chrissy.
- "Enjoying your time at the plaza, hm?" The snake gave a smug little face to the our male. Stem rolled his eyes as he doesn't feel in the mood for arguing, although he sense a little fear crawling in his chest due to how weak he is and how powerful her fangs looks.
- "Oh it's you." he replied. Chrissy slithered next to him giving him an 'interesting' look, while spinning her camera waist with her tail. Chrissy started making cat calls.
- "Say..., what a CUTE boy like you doing in a loud place like this? Eh?" She leened her head close to Stem's cheek.
- Stem may dislike Chrissy but there's one thing he can't help but feel disturbed: Chrissy's affection towards him. Stem can't remember on how Chrissy fell in 'love' with him in the first place, but he always have to remind himself that she was still a jerk.
- "Um...fine" he quietly wispier.
- Chrissy gripped her camera with her tail put the waist on her neck and wrapped her tail around Stem's shoulder, while being careful with her tails' deadly blade, and stood straight up and looking down at Stem. "Aww..., flower boy still embarrassed to talk to his true love? Hm?" Stem was startled on that statement 'True love?!' he thought in disgust thus throwing his arms off of Chrissy's bladed tail.
- Chrissy eyebrow started to looked squeezed on her shiny scaly forehead.
- "I see...still find it weird that I, myself that took humiliating pictures of you? Is that it?" She said. " 'cause I can make things less weird for you, that way you and I can get along, how about this, see? Once the pokepuff shop is finally open I'll buy you a expensive pokepuff, that way we can find a excuse to spend time with each other."
- Stem thought for a moment. "...Okay, Chrissy, BUT!" Stem stood firmly at the snake "...If it's one of your scheming tricks trying to get me to do something humiliating so you can take pictures for your stupid newspaper...I'm officially done with you."
- Chrissy back off a bit, then straighten her news reporter hat. "First, of all pretty boy my 'stupid newspaper' are called columns, see?" Stem rolled his eyes
- "So...do you agree?" Stem pull out his arm. Chrissy thought for a moment and sighed. "Deal" She pull out her tip of her blade and shook on it.
- "Well, then I better take pictures for this special 'event'" Chrissy said. "Boss, wanted me to take good amounts of pictures. As she slither her way through rivers of Florges leaving Stem peacefully alone.
- "Finally...alone." Stem sighed as he closed his eyes, once more.
