  1. Section 1: Spam

  3. 1.Repeating any sentence two or more times in a 30 second period is considered spam:

  5. a.) Responses to a clear question are excluded from this rule such as: "okay, ok, yes, no"

  7. b.) The Time is not set in stone and if you are repeating the same sentence without purpose outside of the 30 second period you can still be punished for spam.

  9. 3.You are not allowed to post entire sentences in CAPS:

  11. a.)You may post single word messages in CAPS in order to accentuate a point.
  12.  
  13. b.)The use of CAPS does not change a word and all words posted must follow the rules of section 1.

  15. c.)You may use CAPS in a sentence to underline an important word, you are allowed to have 1 CAPS word for every 3 normal words, if your sentence contains 12 words, 3 may be in caps.

  17. 3. The use of any other language other than the official language in the chat channel is considered spam, (Public, Ranked, Help, Tournament channels use English as the official language, other channels use the language specified when the user enters.).

The team chat is moderated by the team leader who sets the rules, you do not need to follow Section 1 rules in the team chat unless the team leader specifies so, the team leader also decides the chat languages. Staff are not responsible for assisting with the enforcement of team chat, if a member of the team is violating rules set by the team leader that is to be dealt with by the team leader.

  21. a.) You may not break the chat rules in the team chat when using the me command.

  23. 5. Section 1:1 rule applies to private chats, 1:2-4 do not apply to private chats.

  27. a.) You are not allowed to send private messages to a person if they ask you to stop. This includes sending challenge requests when asked not to do so.

  29. 7. Posting random letters, numbers or sentences that don't make sense or do not contribute to the conversation is considered spam.

  31. 8. Moderators are excluded from 1:1-4 and 1:6-7 at all times. (this is not for socializing but so that moderators can explain things needed in the chat and demonstrate the rules to the new players.)

  33. Punishment: Users will receive a verbal warning on their first offense, on their second offense they will be kicked from the chat. On every offense following their second offense they will be given 10-50 Warning Points. If a user repeatedly violates these rules over a short period of time they may be muted at the discretion of staff.

  40. 1. The advertisement of any other Yu-Gi-Oh! game, product or service without permission from Seto Kaiba is banned.

  42. a.) Posting the names of any other Yu-Gi-Oh! games is not allowed.

  44. b.) Posting the links to websites containing names, download links or information about other Yu-Gi-Oh! games is not allowed.

  46. c.) Advertising other Yu-Gi-Oh! related websites that aren't owned by Kaiba Corporation is not allowed.

  48. d.) Advertising Yu-Gi-Oh! Academies is not allowed, if you own an academy and are interested in becoming affiliated with us, please see our academy affiliation rules.

  50. 2. The advertisement of any Non Yu-Gi-Oh products is not allowed, however you are allowed to post links and product names while discussing the subject.

  52. Punishment: Users will receive a warning on their first offense, they will be muted and receive WP for every offense afterwards.

  56. Section 3: Banned Words and Discussions

  59. 1. Use the correct chat channel for each discussion, Public channel is for general discussions, Help channel is if you are having problems with the game, and events channel is for tournament duel requests and general posts.

  61. 2. The use of swear words or other inappropriate language is not allowed, all discussions must be family friendly.

  63. a.) a Staff member is allowed to determine if a discussion is classified as family friendly or not even if the content is not directly inappropriate if it comes off as such then you may be punished for it accordingly.

  65. b.) The use of ** to censor a word or changing the spelling does not make it appropriate and you will be punished accordingly.

  67. 3 The use of Acronyms that are offensive such as (gtfo, stfu, gth) will not be tolerated, the use of acronyms that have no offensive meaning such as (lmao, wth) may be tolerated if used correctly.

  69. a.) A staff member may make the decision of what acronyms are offensive and what are not and may choose the suitable punishment.

  71. 4. The discussion of any religious, political and sexual views is not allowed.

  73. 5. Racism and discrimination of any form is not allowed.

  75. 6. Posting pornography or any other NSFW material is not allowed.

  77. 7. Any type of online dating is not allowed, you may not ask guys or girls to be your girlfriend or boyfriend on any of Kaiba Corporation chats.

  79. 8. Discussions of punishments or penalties a staff member issues is not allowed in any Kaiba Corporation public chats or on the forums, send all complaints directly to an Administrator or to Seto Kaiba. Any disagreement with the way in which a staff member conducts themselves or performs their duties is included in this section (all issues of perceived abuse of power should be submitted to the appropriate staff, not publicly discussed).

  81. a.) You may not challenge a staff members punishment in the public chat or criticism them on their work, if you disagree you may report them to a higher ranking staff member or speak to them in private.

  83. 9. Accusing or reporting staff members and players without providing proof (screenshots or videos are considered valid proof, no copy/pasted text will be accepted) is not allowed.

  85. 10.Misuse of the /me command is prohibited. Misuse is considered any of the following:

  87. a.) Using the /me command to violate any other rules of chat.

  89. b.) Using the command to give the appearance of having kicked, banned muted etc. another player.

  91. 11. The discussion of ANY personal information pertaining to a player without their permission is prohibited.

  93. 12. You may not harass a user in the public chat if asked to stop.

Punishment: Users will receive a verbal warning and/or a kick on their first offense for breaking the rules in sections 3:1-4, 7-9, second offense will result in 10-50 Warning Points decided by the staff members. Users will receive a verbal warning, kick and 50 Warning Points for breaking rules 3:5-6 or 3:10.

  99. Note: The above rules for content include URL text and images. This is applied to public chat rooms on the Dawn of a New Era Client but do not include private messages or team chat. If you have an issue with content a user is posting you via private messages it is your responsibility to report them to staff if you feel harassed. If you are offended by content in team chat you must talk to your team leader. A moderator may decide what the meaning of a word or phrase is and punish accordingly regardless of what the player explains it as, if a staff member interprets a word as punishable/offensive then it is as such and a punishment will be carried out.

  103. Section 4: Trolling

  105. 1. The use of offensive terms or behavior toward another player to troll them is not allowed.(this will act in order with section 3)

  107. 2. The act of pretending to be a staff member to troll players or staff members is not allowed.

  109. a.) this includes but is not limited to:
  110. -claiming to be a staff member of any rank when you are not.
  111. -claiming to have the powers of a staff member or to give players things only staff can give them.
  112. -misuse of the me command(refer to section 3:10:b )
  113. -claiming to be a staff member's alt when you are not.

  115. 3. The act of telling the other players rules that are not true, or falsifying information to manipulate or alter a players judgment is not allowed.

  117. 4. The act of selling yourself as a hacker with intent to harm Kaiba Corporation Software/hardware is not allowed.

  119. Punishment:Users will receive a verbal warning, on their second offense they will receive a kick and possible warning points on staff judgment, on a third offense players will either be muted or punished further to staff discretion

  124. Section 5:Ranked Games
  125.  
  126. 1. You may use any deck you want in ranked games as long as its accepted by the latest ban list. Any agreements made by the duelists before the duel regarding which decks are banned are not official, and we will take no action if a player breaks this agreement.

  128. 2. You are not allowed to play ranked games against anybody with the same IP/MAC address, this usually means anybody who lives in the same house as you.

  130. 3. Other members aren't allowed to play ranked games from your account.

  132. 4. You may not get another player to lose to you simply to boost your ranked score.

Punishment: Users will receive a verbal warning and a kick on their first offense of this section, second offense will result in 10-50 Warning Points, the staff members decide how many Warning Points are a valid punishment. For rules 4:2-4 your ranked stats may be reset, and you may be blocked from playing ranked games.

  140. Section 6:Hacking

  142. 1. The users are not allowed to make any attempts to hack TDOANE or any other websites, games and software created and owned by Kaiba Corporation.

  144. a.)Users are not allowed to try to DDOS or attempt any other kind of attack on any Kaiba Corporation owned servers.
  145.  
  146. b.)Decompiling "YGOPRO Dawn of a New Era Launcher Pro.exe" is not allowed.
  147.  
  148. c.)You may not attempt to hack any of our software or games in order to find potential issues or security threats without permission from Seto Kaiba.
  149.  
  150. d.)You may not do anything that will harm the Kaiba Corporation hardware and software.
  151.  
  152. e.)You may not claim to hack or to attempt to bring harm to the hardware or software of Kaiba corporation in the public chat. (refer to Rule Section 4:4)

  154. 2. You are allowed to modify the in-game images and sounds. Modifying the scripts may cause the replays feature to become bugged.

  156. 3. You may not advertise any type of a mod on Kaiba Corporation without permission from Seto Kaiba.

  158. 4. You are not allowed to log into other accounts even if the player asks you to, you are also not allowed to do qualification duels for other players, if you are having trouble with your account please visit the forums.

  160. Punishment: Users will be permanently banned for breaking the rules in section 5:1, we will take legal action where we see fit. For breaking rule 5:3 users will receive a verbal warning on their first offense, they will be permanently banned from all Kaiba Corporation owned websites, games and services on their second offense.

  164. Section 7: Accounts and Teams

  167. 1. You are only allowed to have one account. Unless you are staff, whom may have one alternative account. Other staff alternative accounts must be authorized by Seto Kaiba.

  169. 2. Your account name may not contain anything that violates section 3 of these rules.

  171. a.) This includes but is not limited too, Card covers, Sleeves, Profile picture, about me, Favorite card, any Text information, any images within your profile.
  172. 3. Your team name may not contain content that violates section 3 of these rules.

  174. 4. Your team name may not contain all caps characters.

  176. Note:Violation of rule 6:1 will result in one of your accounts being banned. Further violation will result in a permanent ban on all of your accounts. Violation of rule 6:2 may result in an automatic ban, the staff member will refer the user to the forum topic designated for requesting a new account prior to the ban. Teams in violation of rule 6:3 and 6:4 will be asked to rename themselves. Failure to comply will result in the team being disbanded and warning points given to the team leader. A Staff Member may make the Team members of a team leave if they do not comply within 3 days of being informed their Team name has broken rules 6:3 or 6:4

  180. Section 8:Cheating/Hacking

  182. 1. You may not boost the ratings of other players by purposely losing, forfeiting or disconnecting from duels. You also are not allowed to enter a ranked game with someone with the same computer ID/MAC address, nor IP address.

  184. 2. The use of bots or similar devices are not allowed.

  186. 3. Exploiting any bug or glitch to increase your rating is prohibited.

  188. Note:Violation of rule 7:1 or 7:3 will result in a reset of the players rating, gold, experience and win/loss record. Additionally based on the severity of the violation the user may be given warning points or banned. Violation of rule 7:2 will result in a reset of gold, rating and win/loss record and 50 WP, a second violation will result in a permanent ban.

  191. Section 9: Tournaments

  193. 1. Users with the same IP address or Mac Address will not be allowed to compete in a tournament together.

  195. 2. You may not purposely lose a tournament to let someone else win.

  197. 3. When you enter a tournament it is your job to read all rules set by the tournament master/staff member and you must abide by the rules of each set tournament.

  199. 4. if you have a problem with your scores or disagree it is your job to report it to a higher ranking staff member to have it investigated before the end of the tournament round in which your scores are not accurate.

  202. Other Rules and information

  205. 1.The chat doesn't save logs, please take screenshots if you need to report somebody. Remember to use the /scroll command to disabled auto-scroll and have timestamps enabled in your options.

  207. 2.We will not contact the authorities if a user is threatened, it is your responsibility to do so if you believe that the threat is real.
  208.  
  209. 3.Any users that threaten suicide will be punished per rule 3:2.

  211. 4. We are not responsible for the safety of any user, do not share you real name, address or phone number with anybody.
  212.  
  213. 5.Any user who posts links to pirated or cracked software will be permanently banned.

  215. 6.Disrespecting the staff is not allowed, you will be given 10-100 Warning points for doing so.
  216.  
  217. 7.You must follow all laws from your own country as well as all United States and Canadian laws.

  219. 8.You may not post any information about any other users, such as their name, sex, address or phone number, the only time you are allowed to post this is if this information is currently posted on their TDOANE profile.

  221. 9.You are not allowed to log into other accounts for any reason, even if the player asks you to, please post on the forum or contact a staff member if you are having issues with your account.

  223. 10.These rules may change at any time without notification, it is your responsibility to stay updated. Message an Administrator or Seto Kaiba for FAQ and Details if you have any questions.

  225. 11.In game Avatars and Card Sleeves must be appropriate content if viewable to other users. If you wish to determine if your sleeves or avatar are appropriate contact a staff member in game or on the forums.

  227. 12.Players may not mini-mod(tell other players what the rules are and that they need to follow them) in the public chat, they are however permitted to post the rules link for other players to see and read, and to tell players in pm that they are breaking rules. It is recommended that one not try to teach player rules when they do not know the rules themselves.

  229. Notice: Seto Kaiba may kick/mute/ban any person at any time if determined as necessary by him.

  233. Staff Rules:

  235. 1. In case of a disagreement between 2 staff members, report the disagreement to Seto Kaiba as soon as possible, if the disagreement was over:

  237. a.) a kick/mute/wp/ban, if the Administrators or the Head GM were not a part of the disagreement then they have the right to remove the punishment from the user if they see fit, the remaining staff doesn't, if the user breaks any rules after, then they are required to be muted until Seto Kaiba reviews the case.

  239. b.) any form of staff drama, warn the staff to stop discussing the subject, if they refuse then mute them regardless of their rank, if the Administrators or the Head GM were not a part of the disagreement then they have the right to remove the mute if they see fit, the remaining staff doesn't, if the drama continues, they must be muted again until Seto Kaiba reviews the case.

Note: Staff disagreement is defined by 1 or more staff members not agreeing on the punishment that was given, if this occurs then the staff involved is required to move to the staff chat and discuss the matter, if no agreement is reached within 5 minutes then you are required to follow the above rules.

  243. Note: The staff members that were against the correct choice may be punished or demoted by Seto Kaiba.

In case a staff members starts kicking, muting, giving WP or banning players/staff repeatedly, immediately mute the staff member and save the screenshot, notify the staff member that the case will be reviewed by Seto Kaiba. If the case didn't involve a head administrator or the head GM, they may unmute the staff member if they see fit, if the staff member repeats the offense before the case is reviewed by Seto Kaiba, mute the staff member again, at this point nobody has the right to unmute them.

  247. 3. In case a staff member tries to advertise another Yu-Gi-Oh! PC or Yu-Gi-Oh! mobile game (Yu-Gi-Oh! Online 1/2/3, KCVDS, YVD, POC Series not included), mute the staff member and ban them if they continue to do so in PMs, nobody has the right to unmute the user until the case is reviewed by Seto Kaiba.

In case the staff member breaks any of the standard rules, warn the staff member in the PM that they are breaking the rule, if they continue to do so after the warning then mute the staff member and notify them that the case will be reviewed by Seto Kaiba.If the case didn't involve a head administrator or the head GM, they may unmute the staff member if they see fit, if the staff member repeats the offense before the case is reviewed by Seto Kaiba, mute the staff member again, at this point nobody has the right to unmute them.

  252. The Warning Point System (WP):

  254. Warning points are issued for various violations of the rules. If a user has 30 or more WP they may at any time be temporarily banned for a period of time based on the number of points they have (see Temporary Bans Section). If a user reaches 100 WP they are immediately and permanently banned from the game.

  257. Temporary Bans:

  259. Temporary bans are issued based on the number of warning points that a user has. If a staff member believes that a user should be temporarily banned, they are to inform the user of their intent to ban them, and recieve acknowledgement from the user prior to banning them. The warning of the imminent ban MUST include a date and approximate time (with timezone) at which the user may return to the game. The temporary ban time must be determined as follows: 1 day for every 30 WP, (example:if a user has only 50 WP they can only be temporarily banned for a period of 1 day).

  265. 1. Spamming is not allowed (Double Posting, Irrelevant/Meaningless Posting).

  271. a.) The Shout box follows the same rules as the in game chat.

  273. 4. Advertising without permission is not allowed, you may not put links or mention other websites, games or software anywhere (in your username, profile, signature, threads or the shout box).

  275. 5. Offensive Language is not allowed.

  277. 6. Discussion of punishments or disrespecting staff members anywhere on the forums is not allowed.

  279. 7. Harassment of any form is not allowed.

  281. 8. Evading or attempting to evade bans is not allowed.

  283. 9. Disruption of the forums through trolling is not allowed. Posts must be of some relevance to the topic in which they are placed.

  285. 10. Flooding the forums with identical posts on more than 2 topics without maintaining relevance is not allowed.

  287. 11. Requesting or sharing other users real life information is not allowed.

  289. 12. Copyright Infringement (Piracy, Plagiarism) is not allowed.

  291. 13. You are only allowed to have 1 account. If you are found to have multiple accounts the least active ones will be banned.

  293. 14. We currently use PayPal for all payouts. You must have a PayPal account and be 18 or older in order to request a payout. If you do not have a PayPal account or are not over 18, you may provide a PayPal account of a person you trust (Parents, Family, Friends).

  295. 15.Explicit content (inappropriate pictures, discussions relating to section 3:2 of the game rules) is not allowed.

  297. 16.Hacking the forums will result in an instant ban from the site and possibly the game determined by administrators.
  298. Regarding topic locks and deletions:

  300. -any topic in which the original post violates rules 4-7 or 9-12 will be deleted.

  302. -any topic that strays from the original point of the discussion to the extent of being counter productive to the topic or the forum section in which it was made will be locked. The forum moderators will use their discretion to determine the point at which a topic should be locked. (*note that some topics may be locked for other reasons such as preventing posts where none are wanted/needed or to prevent further discussion of a topic that has fulfilled its usefulness and no longer requires further discussion.)

  307. Those who break forum rules 1-6 or 9-10 will be given a verbal warning on the first violation, flagged on the second, and banned on the third. Violations of forum rules 7,11 or 12 will result in warning and flag on the first incident, and ban on any subsequent violations.

  310. How to Report People:

You should save a screenshot of the full conversation where the person broke the rules, this usually takes multiple screenshots, you can also record your screen using a screen recorder and scroll through the conversation. If you copy/paste the text from the chatbox it will not be counted as valid evidence. *Note that replays of duels will not show the content of ingame messages, but may be used to show an incident involving hacking or cheating.
