  1. Volume One - A Fragile State of Mind
  2.
  3. 1. Does the Little Light Mean It's On? (1:59)
  4.
  5. “I’ve been through so much.
  6. I’ve caused so much damage.
  7. Damage that will take ages to unfurl, if it will ever.
  8.
  9. After everything I’ve done...
  10.
  11. After all I’ve undergone...
  12.
  13. There is nothing that I wouldn’t give to mend us.
  14.
  15. And it all started...
  16.
  17. ...this cavalcade of nightmares...
  18.
  19. ...Everything that I hate...
  20.
  21. ...Everything that I fear...
  22.
  23. ...Every little thing that transpired to invoke a hellish torment upon a once beautiful world...
  24.
  25. ...Everything that I created...
  26.
  27. ...It all started...
  28.
  29. ...with her.
  30.
  31. My name is Rarity.
  32.
  33. And I have a problem.”
  34.
  35. ...
  36.
  37. “Does the little light means it’s on?”
  38.
  39. 2. Doll (0:57)
  40.
  41. “It’s simple!
  42.
  43. I’ll just take tragedy and make something beautiful out of it!
  44.
  45. It’s what I’m known for!”
  46.
  47. This is what I found of her video diary. Most of it was just bits and pieces scattered throughout her home that I collected and put in the order that makes the most chronological sense, if there is even one.
  48.
  49. Rarity’s story still continues to fascinate me, as well as scare me into seeing what a simple fashionista could become.
  50.
  51. Rarity’s story is a story about stress.
  52.
  53. Stress and pressure.
  54.
  55. Science tells us that with stress, pressure, and time come beauty.
  56.
  57. It’s only fitting that her cutie mark is that of three diamonds.
  58.
  59. Anyway, more about our subject, Rarity.
  60.
  61. “You’ve ascended, darling.
  62.
  63. You will live on...
  64.
  65. ...as her.”
  66.
  67. A beautifully simple concept. How did it ever come to pass that this one action would be the roots of a tree that will grow wildly.
  68.
  69. Intertwining with many lives.
  70.
  71. Branching off through numerous realities.
  72.
  73. Soon, this tree’s illustrious leaves will blot out the sun. Casting the world into shadow.
  74.
  75. All stemming...
  76.
  77. ...from a child’s doll.
  78.
  79. 3. Epidermal, Of Course (1:01)
  80.
  81. With the doll constructed in the likeness of her new idol, Rarity discovers something that had
  82. been lying dormant.
  83.
  84. She had loved pain.
  85.
  86. Whether or not she inherited this psychological trait from her new-found idol or if it was an underlying quirk buried deep within her psyche was unknown.
  87.
  88. The fact is, she wanted more of it.
  89.
  90. And nothing was going to stop her.
  91.
  92.
  93. 4. I Bet You Know Her Name (1:17)
  94.
  95. Wait, let’s start at the beginning.
  96.
  97. Once upon a time, there was a little town. This town was nice and peaceful.
  98.
  99. Until one snapped.
  100.
  101. Now, there are many missing without much of an explanation.
  102.
  103. Murder, albeit too taboo a subject to talk about, is commonplace now. All because of her.
  104.
  105. Some feared her.
  106.
  107. Some didn’t believe in her.
  108.
  109. One was fascinated by her.
  110.
  111. I bet you know her name.
  112.
  113.
  114. 5. Sweetie Belle (Soul) (3:04)
  115.
  116. “Should I do this?” she asked.
  117. It wasn’t her choice anymore. She threw the responsibility of her sister’s well being into the construct of the doll she created.
  118.
  119. “She’ll enjoy this.”
  120.
  121. This is called madness.
  122.
  123. “Everything will be alright.”
  124.
  125. This is called destruction.
  126.
  127. “Sis, what are you--”
  128.
  129. This is the first step.
  130.
  131. “nnnNNNNAAAAAGGGGHHH!!!”
  132.
  133. This is the agony of the soul.
  134.
  135. And it hurt.
  136.
  137. 6. Sorry (3:47)
  138.
  139. In a state of panic induced by Twilight's sudden visit, Rarity averts her attention and casts a bulky sewing machine upside Twilight's head.
  140.
  141. This is where the game she was playing with her life ends.
  142.
  143. She came to realise everything that she's done this far.
  144.
  145. And for the first time....
  146.
  147. "I'm sorry."
  148.
  149. 7. Dreams (3:29)
  150.
  151. Now, that we got dreary segment out of the way, I had to know.
  152.
  153. Why the nickname?
  154.
  155. Well, it’s quite simple.
  156.
  157. We all have our hopes and dreams.
  158.
  159. Her’s was just that simple.
  160.
  161. She just wanted to be a mother.
  162.
  163. 8. Never Again (1:57)
  164.
  165. Sometimes, we want to forget what we’ve done.
  166.
  167. Sometimes, we want to live as if we didn’t do anything wrong.
  168.
  169. That our actions didn’t have consequences.
  170.
  171. Sometimes, we’d go to drastic measures to feel normal again.
  172.
  173. This was her night.
  174.
  175. Even if she’d come to regret her decision in the morning.
  176.
  177. 9. All Tied Up (1:49)
  178.
  179. It’s always nice meeting a friend.
  180.
  181. You see, many ponies have changed since the disappearances.
  182.
  183. The idea of upholding a specific personality to mesh with society has completely dissolved.
  184.
  185. Everyone could act how they truly wanted now.
  186.
  187. And so on that night a fashionista was tied up by a local athlete.
  188.
  189. There a challenge was proposed.
  190.
  191. “Nah, she’s too soft.”
  192.
  193. There...
  194.
  195. “Don’t be so sure, Dash!”
  196.
  197. ...a challenge was accepted.
  198.
  199.
  200.
  201. 10. 850 Degrees Fahrenheit (Body) (1:43)
  202.
  203. We’ve prepared for this.
  204.
  205. You see, this was a momentous point in her life.
  206.
  207. And as an outsider, it portrayed a nice bit of psychological dementia.
  208.
  209. “Breathe in.”
  210.
  211. There is nothing more painful.
  212.
  213. “Breathe ouuaaaGGGGGHHHH!!!.”
  214.
  215. Try not to think of the words,
  216.
  217. “Searing Flesh.”
  218.
  219. This is the second step.
  220.
  221. When we go through a change, the experience is never pleasant.
  222.
  223. The lasting marks, both physically and psychologically, are the most intense.
  224.
  225. This is the agony of the body.
  226.
  227. The video cuts out here. I can still hear her screaming in agony followed by the sound of heavy iron clattering against the floor.
  228.
  229. And for her, the mark has been made.
  230.
  231.
  232. The first tape ends here.
  233. ..
  234. …..
  235. …….
