[21:25] <!CYOA-sama> A loud scream can be heard echoing through the palace halls early in the morning.
[21:26] <!CYOA-sama> "A-are you alright my dear?..." Aldeas asks Lucia as she cowers beneath the bed.
[21:26] <!CYOA-sama> "S-s-s-s-s-s-she.... touched me." Lucia trembles.
[21:27] <!CYOA-sama> Just outside the bedroom window the long black feelers of the insect queen hang down as she stares into the room.
[21:28] <!CYOA-sama> She slinks back when Aldeas glances toward her.
[21:28] <!CYOA-sama> "She's just as scared of you as you are of her you know...." The king attempts to plea with his petrified wife.
[21:28] <!CYOA-sama> "Literally...."
[21:29] <!CYOA-sama> "NO! She's not! She's terrorizing me for fun!" Lucia shouts.
[21:29] <!CYOA-sama> Aldeas looks over his shoulder at Kilix again.
[21:29] <!CYOA-sama> ".... heh." The insect queen smirks slightly as she zips away back to her private quarters atop the tower.
[21:30] <!CYOA-sama> "SEE!" Lucia shouts as she flips her bed over with an uncharacteristic amount of strength.
[21:30] <!CYOA-sama> Aldeas pats Lucia's head as she pouts and sniffles.
[21:31] <!CYOA-sama> "She just poked you on the cheek."
[21:31] <!CYOA-sama> ".... She surprised me... I need time to mentally prepare."
[21:31] <!CYOA-sama> "You have other things you should be preparing for."
[21:31] <!CYOA-sama> Aldeas looks down and smiles.
[21:31] <!CYOA-sama> "The dragonflight is coming."
[21:32] <!CYOA-sama> Lucia's eyes widen.
[21:32] <!CYOA-sama> "A.... full dragonflight?" She asks as she quickly stands.
[21:33] <!CYOA-sama> "I doubt it, but several cities are preparing for the worst."
[21:34] <!CYOA-sama> "Huge tidal waves, random windstorms, lighning crashing down on a clear day... all the phenomenon associated with the movement of the Dragon Gods have been happening."
[21:34] <!CYOA-sama> "Io and her daughters have taken flight, and they've most recently been sighted heading here.... likely in response to my invitation."
[21:35] <!CYOA-sama> Aldeas grins. "Of all the monsters I expected to shoot down any idea of peace, the dragons I thought would be the hardest to reason with."
[21:36] <!CYOA-sama> "If this isn't a mission of peace, but a full dragonflight our kingdom may be reduced to ashes." Lucia says as she adjusts her dress still blushing from her morning panic attack.
[21:37] <!CYOA-sama> "The last time all four of the Dragon Queens took flight at once it started a war that lasted for 200 years and nearly drove both dragon and man to extinction."
[21:38] <!CYOA-sama> "True as that is, that war started when the previous Dragon Knight was cut down by a radical on a peace mission to the capital." Aldeas places his hand on Lucia's head.
[21:40] <!CYOA-sama> "I won't allow it to happen again. Actual Dragonslaying has been abolished since it was deemed too dangerous for anyone to take on dragons without the backing of the royal army, ironically his fear of incurring the wrath of the dragons was my fathers only redeeming policy."
[21:40] <!CYOA-sama> "Of all the monster races they have both the most bad blood with us historically, and the most reason to hear out my proposal."
[21:41] <!CYOA-sama> "You mean because of the halfbree-" "LUCIA!"
[21:41] <!CYOA-sama> The young queen jumps and recoils as Aldeas suddenly shouts.
[21:41] <!CYOA-sama> ".... sorry.... because of the dragonkin?"
[21:41] <!CYOA-sama> Aldeas' stern expression softens.
[21:42] <!CYOA-sama> "Yes, the dragonkin could well be the perfect example of the ideal relationship with human and monster."
[21:42] <!CYOA-sama> Lucia pouts and water starts to form in her eyes.
[21:43] <!CYOA-sama> ".... I'm sorry for shouting." Aldeas whispers as he pulls her into his chest.
[21:43] <!CYOA-sama> "It's okay, I messed up..." Lucia says as she sniffles and hugs him tightly.
[21:43] <!CYOA-sama> "As queen, your words carry a lot of weight my darling."
[21:44] <!CYOA-sama> The two embrace in the throne room.
[21:44] <!CYOA-sama> As Kilix observes from outside holding a cockroach between her hands she sighs.
[21:44] <!CYOA-sama> "Zzzzorry little one... I can't breing myzzzelf to interrupt now."
[21:45] <!CYOA-sama> "Well get her nezzzt time." Kilix smiles wickedly as she speaks to the roach.
[21:45] <!CYOA-sama> [Intermission]

[21:54] <!CYOA-sama> Aldeas and Lucia sit patiently on their thrones as news of the Dragon Knights rapid approach reaches them.
[21:55] <!CYOA-sama> Neither are surprised. She's been sent ahead as a scout, her report to the so called Dragon Gods will determine the entire course of the upcoming peace talks.
[21:56] <!CYOA-sama> Aldeas' leg bounces nervously as he sits with his hands folded awaiting her arrival, something that does not go unnoticed by Lucia.
[21:58] <!CYOA-sama> Meanwhile.... 200km northwest of the capital, just off the coast of the port city of Neifilm a the sea parts as a humanoid figure flies through the air at supersonice speed.
[21:58] <!CYOA-sama> Her large gold wings not even flapping, but tucked tightly behind her serving as little more than rutters in her horizontal divebomb a style of flying that goes completely against the laws of physics and nature.
[21:59] <!CYOA-sama> The characteristic overland flight of a dragon, nearly impossible to turn, but fast beyond all imagining.
[22:00] <!CYOA-sama> Long ago before the power of dragons was fully understood the old king of man sought to seek refuge on this continent after earning the ire of the Dragon God Tiamat.
[22:01] <!CYOA-sama> Before his ship could even reach land, she fell upon his fleet like lightning and sake two dozen of his warships armed to the teeth with his best men.
[22:01] <!CYOA-sama> The tales of draconic power began there.
[22:01] <!CYOA-sama> The mysterious power dwells within dragons that afford them their absurd abilities surpassing even demon and angel.
[22:02] <!CYOA-sama> An ultra-divine power that grants dragons the power to even mortally wound gods.
[22:02] <!CYOA-sama> The essence of pure destruction incarnate.
[22:02] <!CYOA-sama> Dragon Force.
[22:04] <!CYOA-sama> The humanoid figure, in moments, passes over the cities and towns between the coast and the capital.
[22:05] <!CYOA-sama> The panic that ensues beneathe her as the human civilians witness her flight is not even in full swing as she comes to a complete stop over the forests surrounding the capital.
[22:05] <!CYOA-sama> The wind released from  her unfurling wings bends the treeline and washes across the surrounding area.
[22:05] <!CYOA-sama> The palace doors are blown open.
[22:06] <!CYOA-sama> Even from his throne Aldeas can see the majestic winged figure flying high in the distance, over the city walls and well out of reach of any weapon.
[22:07] <!CYOA-sama> The stunning silver haired woman, with golden earfins and donned in solid gold full plate armor styled to fit her figure focuses her violet ees and makes eyecontact with the king, even over such a vast distance.
[22:08] <!CYOA-sama> She inhales deeply.
[22:08] <!CYOA-sama> "KING OF MAN! COME AND FACE ME!"
[22:08] <!CYOA-sama> Her voice cracks like thunder and rattles windows in every building in the city.
[22:09] <!CYOA-sama> All of the citizens are frozen in fear.
[22:09] <!CYOA-sama> The power in her voice alone is enough that all the queens currently in the palace instantly become aware that a dragon has shown itself.
[22:10] <!CYOA-sama> As the wind from her shout blows into the throne room aldeas hair is blown backwards, and it is only he that doesn't recoil from the sound.
[22:10] <!CYOA-sama> "I see, not even so much as a hello before you declare your challenge..."
[22:10] <!CYOA-sama> "So be it Asterinian... I'll grant you your duel."
[22:11] <!CYOA-sama> Aldeas stands with an uneasy smile on his face.
[22:11] <!CYOA-sama> "Lucia, my love, you may die today." He says as he takes up his sword and walks solemnly towards the outer wall.
[22:12] <!CYOA-sama> The young queen steadies herself and sighs.
[22:12] <!CYOA-sama> "Fool.... even after that you still underestimate her."
[22:13] <!CYOA-sama> "W-what do you mean?" Mesina asks from behind her friends throne still trembling from the surge of draconic power.
[22:13] <!CYOA-sama> "His opponent is a dragon.... even the King's Sanctuary won't protect him."
[22:13] <!CYOA-sama> "E-eh?"
[22:14] <!CYOA-sama> "Dragon's have the power to destroy anything... even the protection of a Miracle Class Sorcery."
[22:14] <!CYOA-sama> "S-so...."
[22:14] <!CYOA-sama> "If it comes to that, Aldeas will be the one to die, and the royal bloodline will end here."
[22:14] <!CYOA-sama> "It's for that reason that no king has ever attempted to fight a dragon alone."
[22:15] <!CYOA-sama> "But it's also for that reason that Aldeas is the most powerful King in history.... he will not lose."
[22:15] <!CYOA-sama> Lucia's cold unshakable expression is enough to calm Mesina.
[22:17] <!CYOA-sama> The inhabitants of the city all retreat into their homes as the king marches towards the winged challenger... alone.

[22:35] <!CYOA-sama> [Intermission Out]
[22:37] <!CYOA-sama> The young king pushes open the massive gates as though they were weightless.
[22:38] <!CYOA-sama> Once on the other side he drops low and dashes at top speed to the clearing beneath the dragon.
[22:38] <!CYOA-sama> When he reaches the open patch of forest he stops and looks up.
[22:38] <!CYOA-sama> With powerful strokes of her wings the gold clad dragon descends and touches down in front of him.
[22:39] <!CYOA-sama> "Asterinian.... Patron Saint of Independance and the current holder of the title of Dragon Knight."
[22:40] <!CYOA-sama> "Your strong will and unwillingness to follow others drew you to Io and she taught you to weild Dragon Force more effectively than most full blooded dragons."
[22:40] <!CYOA-sama> "You are the only monster in the world recognized as holding official knighthood by the Kingdom of Man."
[22:41] <!CYOA-sama> "If I weren't married I could fall in love before such dignity and strength." Aldeas says with a cocky smirk.
[22:41] <!CYOA-sama> "Spare me your flatery King of Traitors." She says as she runs her hands through her long silver hair and ties it up in a ponytail.
[22:42] <!CYOA-sama> "King of slavers, traitors, theives, liars.... how many unofficial titles do I have among the monster races?" Aldeas says as he stands across from the winged girl.
[22:43] <!CYOA-sama> "Given the track record of your predecessors you're lucky I haven't killed you where you stand."
[22:43] <!CYOA-sama> "I agree." Aldeas says with a smile.
[22:44] <!CYOA-sama> "This is an official duel of Knight's Honor, what are your terms." Asterinian says coldly as she drops low into a battle stance and her wings unfurl.
[22:44] <!CYOA-sama> "Honorable and to the point. I propose a duel with no weapons until one of us submits."
[22:45] <!CYOA-sama> "You're suicidal enough to fight a dragon unarmed?" She says as her lips curl into a smile for the first time.
[22:46] <!CYOA-sama> "You're short sighted enough to think you have the advantage in unarmed combat just because you're of draconic blood?" Aldeas retorts as he unsheathes his sword.
[22:46] <!CYOA-sama> The pillar of dazzling golden light extends high into the sky.
[22:47] <!CYOA-sama> The radiance emanates from Aldeas even as he plants the sword into the ground.
[22:47] <!CYOA-sama> "Once I draw my blade the magic within it is mine to command until I resheath it, even if it's dropped, stolen, or broken."
[22:48] <!CYOA-sama> "you came here to fight The King of Men, not the man called Aldeas, correct?"
[22:48] <!CYOA-sama> The explosive torrent of divine energy settles to a subtle golen glow outlining Aldeas' body like armor.
[22:48] <!CYOA-sama> "Yes... that's exactly correct."
[22:49] <!CYOA-sama> "Well I hate to disappoint you, but the terrible power of the King's Dictum died with my father, and I'm all that remains." Aldeas smiles and shrugs.
[22:49] <!CYOA-sama> "Then you'll do." Asterinian replies as she puts up her fists.
[22:50] <!CYOA-sama> Her powerful legs kick off the ground splitting it beneath her feet as she throws a punch.
[22:50] <!CYOA-sama> Aldeas catches the supersonic extension of the armored dragoness' hand like it was standing still.
[22:51] <!CYOA-sama> Quickly Asterinian shifts her weight and throws a backspin kick, Aldeas blocks it with a single arm as well.
[22:51] <!CYOA-sama> Her flurry of blows happens in such rapid succession that the shockwaves from the impacts are all released at once as soon as she backsteps.
[22:51] <!CYOA-sama> Blades of grass are blown into the air and disintegrated.
[22:52] <!CYOA-sama> "Are you going to fight me without tapping into dragon force?" Aldeas asks as Asterinian seems shocked at how easily her attacks were fended off.
[22:53] <!CYOA-sama> "I was....." She responds as flame-like glowing marking extend across her face.
[22:53] <!CYOA-sama> Ever so slightly the Dragon Knight bares her fangs.
[22:53] <!CYOA-sama> She takes a step forward.
[22:53] <!CYOA-sama> And in an instant Aldeas has closed the gap between them.
[22:54] <!CYOA-sama> He throws a punch stopping just short of her face.
[22:54] <!CYOA-sama> A golden magical seal forms between his fist and the dragon's skull and in a flash of light she's sent sliding backwards leaving skid tracks on the ground.
[22:55] <!CYOA-sama> Her violet eyes are foggy as the dazzling light has blinded her.
[22:56] <!CYOA-sama> The dragon sniffs the air and twitches her earfins, but the speed with which Aldeas positions himself above her is far faster than any of her remaining senses can percieve.
[22:56] <!CYOA-sama> But Asterinian has fought foes with this calibur of speed and divine power before.
[22:56] <!CYOA-sama> She roars loudly at the air above her.
[22:57] <!CYOA-sama> The image in her mind of the explosion-like sonic shockwave bursting Aldeas' eardrums and lauching him away from her certainly would have come to light.
[22:57] <!CYOA-sama> If aldeas has still been directly above her....
[22:58] <!CYOA-sama> Kicking off a magical platform he created he touches down on the ground behind her.
[22:58] <!CYOA-sama> The focused projectile of sound was the wrong choice, if she has sent an omnidirectional blast Asterinian would have succeeded in buying the time she needed to recover her sight.
[22:59] <!CYOA-sama> It was a single miscalculation, but not a dire one.
[22:59] <!CYOA-sama> The dragon knight clenches her teeth and braces for the counter attack.
[22:59] <!CYOA-sama> He will aim for her spine, either the small of her back to kill her legs, or the base of her neck to knock her out.
[22:59] <!CYOA-sama> She tenses all the muscles in her back to take the impact.
[23:00] <!CYOA-sama> Wrong again.
[23:00] <!CYOA-sama> Aldeas steps around the draconic warrior and shifting all his weight into the blow throws a straight shot to her stomach.
[23:01] <!CYOA-sama> A small ball of flame belches pathetically from Asterinian as she doubles over grasping her stomach and coughing violently.
[23:01] <!CYOA-sama> Aldeas takes a few steps back and leans against a tree as he looks down at the squirming dragon girl.
[23:02] <!CYOA-sama> "If one of us dies it'll start a war you know..." He says nonchalantly as he scratches his ear.
[23:02] <!CYOA-sama> Asterinian looks up at him as her reptilian pupils widen.
[23:02] <!CYOA-sama> "I'll break you in half!" She says in a gravelly draconic voice.
[23:03] <!CYOA-sama> "Such a short temper from someone recognized as a Saint." Aldeas smirks mockingly as if to draw even greater anger out of her.
[23:03] <!CYOA-sama> Asterinian stands as fire wreaths her body.
[23:04] <!CYOA-sama> Her low growling shakes the ground beneath her and can be felt even at the palace.
[23:04] <!CYOA-sama> Lucia stares unblinkingly at the flashing lights of the battle taking place beyond the city walls.
[23:05] <!CYOA-sama> Asterinian's rage takes form as fire and spreads out over the forest, but the trees do not burn.
[23:05] <!CYOA-sama> Dragonfire will not burn anything it isn't meant to... the ultimate destructive power, a precise absolute flame.
[23:06] <!CYOA-sama> Even Aldeas' divine armor won't sheild him from it, but that isn't the problem here.
[23:06] <!CYOA-sama> "How.... did you react faster than me, in both biology and experience I should be your superior but you reacted at a speed I couldn't counter." Asterinian asks.
[23:06] <!CYOA-sama> Aldeas sticks out his tongue.
[23:07] <!CYOA-sama> "I wonder.... maybe you should try it again and find out."
[23:07] <!CYOA-sama> Taking the bait like an enraged animal Asterinian rushes at Aldeas.
[23:08] <!CYOA-sama> The flaming limbs that fly at him are all dodged.
[23:08] <!CYOA-sama> Even at a speed that would appear to others as nothing but a swirling inferno Aldeas doesn't even get brushed by the flames.
[23:09] <!CYOA-sama> In speed they're equal, Asterinian can see that clearly.
[23:09] <!CYOA-sama> But there's a feeling within her she can't shake, something unnerving.
[23:10] <!CYOA-sama> Aldeas' eyes never close, he never blinks or looks away even for a moment.
[23:10] <!CYOA-sama> 'He's.... predicting everything.'
[23:10] <!CYOA-sama> That's the conclusion she reaches.
[23:10] <!CYOA-sama> It is impossible.
[23:11] <!CYOA-sama> Even if he memorized the entire skeletal and muscular anatomy of a dragonkin, even if he had sparred with one for hundreds of hours to predict attacks accurately enough to dodge them before they're thrown is impossible.
[23:11] <!CYOA-sama> At the speed they're moving, to see a slight muscle twitch and react is impossible, by the time the signal from Aldeas' brain reached his muscles the blow would have landed.
[23:12] <!CYOA-sama> Asterinian backs away.
[23:12] <!CYOA-sama> "Are you.... reading my mind?" She asks as she stares in shock at the king.
[23:13] <!CYOA-sama> "Is that the conclusion you came to? I wonder." Aldeas says with a smile.
[23:13] <!CYOA-sama> It's not impossible, there are creatures with that power, and it is replicatable with magic.
[23:14] <!CYOA-sama> "So be it King of M-.... Aldeas. If this is your game I'll simply fight you without thinking."
[23:14] <!CYOA-sama> Asterinian grins, and her flames swirl gracefulyl around her.
[23:14] <!CYOA-sama> Her armor falls to the ground peice by piece.
[23:15] <!CYOA-sama> Before long the half-gold dragon stands before Aldeas in nothing but her cotton boxers and tank top she wears to stop her armor from chafing.
[23:16] <!CYOA-sama> With a twist of her neck her bones crack and she drops to all fours.
[23:16] <!CYOA-sama> Not a crawl, but her feet and hands both firmly on the ground.
[23:16] <!CYOA-sama> Her golden scales limbs dig into the ground as she closes her eyes.
[23:17] <!CYOA-sama> When they're opened again she roars a roar that eachos across the forest.
[23:17] <!CYOA-sama> Aldeas stares unflinchingly, but in the palace a chill runs down Lucia's spine.
[23:17] <!CYOA-sama> She claps her hands together and mutters something silently.
[23:17] <!CYOA-sama> Asterinian, now fully surrended to her draconic instincts rushes at Aldeas.
[23:18] <!CYOA-sama> Surely now her advantage in speed and agility simply by being born to a dragon should overcome him.
[23:18] <!CYOA-sama> But still he avoids her attacks even before they're thrown.
[23:19] <!CYOA-sama> Asterinian's unrelenting assault continues with a destructive power that obliterates entire patches of forest with each impact.
[23:19] <!CYOA-sama> Aldeas looks around him as animals flee and scatter.
[23:19] <!CYOA-sama> His normally warm eyes narrowing into a cold cruel expression.
[23:19] <!CYOA-sama> "Enough of this...." He says softly to himself.
[23:20] <!CYOA-sama> In each hand he catches one of the rampaging dragons claws.
[23:20] <!CYOA-sama> A loud crack echos as he slams his skull down onto hers.
[23:20] <!CYOA-sama> Her movements stopped Asterinian quickly regains her senses.
[23:21] <!CYOA-sama> Her forehead still pressed against Aldeas's she kneels before him with each of her hands gripped tightly by him.... even with her strength she's unable to free herself.
[23:21] <!CYOA-sama> Her eyes lock with the kings and a jolt of fear runs down her spine as she sees his expression.
[23:21] <!CYOA-sama> Blood trails down both of their faces from the headbutt, though it'd be impossible to tell who's blood it was.
[23:22] <!CYOA-sama> "A man will not lose to a beast.... fight me on equal terms as a person or do not fight me at all." Aldeas says, calmly and sternly to the kneeling dragon girl.
[23:22] <!CYOA-sama> "Y-yes...." She responds without thinking like a scolded child.
[23:23] <!CYOA-sama> For an instant the cocky air that always surrounded the pubescent king faded away and was replaced by something that sent shivers all the way to Asterinian's core.
[23:24] <!CYOA-sama> Asterinian slowly stands.
[23:24] <!CYOA-sama> Her legs nearly buckle under her own weight.
[23:25] <!CYOA-sama> 'D-did I injure myself? No.... then why are my knees so weak....'
[23:25] <!CYOA-sama> She takes her stance as Aldeas turns to face her.
[23:25] <!CYOA-sama> The blood still trails from both of their heads.
[23:25] <!CYOA-sama> Asterinian bows.
[23:26] <!CYOA-sama> "I apologize for tarnishing our duel of honor." She says.
[23:26] <!CYOA-sama> "I will make up for that now."
[23:26] <!CYOA-sama> The flame flowing around her quickly forms into a blade of pure dragon fire.
[23:26] <!CYOA-sama> "Is this alright?" She asks with a smile.
[23:27] <!CYOA-sama> "A blade made from fire isn't a physical weapon." Aldeas says as he returns the grin.
[23:27] <!CYOA-sama> "You will not evade this...." The Dragon Knight says as she prepares to swing her sword.
[23:27] <!CYOA-sama> Aldeas silently smiles.
[23:28] <!CYOA-sama> With one stroke the entire forest is engulfed in a tremendous amount of dragonfire.
[23:28] <!CYOA-sama> If she so desired every living thing in a 1km radius would be incinerated, but this power was only directed at one person.
[23:29] <!CYOA-sama> If he died Asterinian would have to bare the guilt of starting another Dragon War.
[23:29] <!CYOA-sama> But something deep inside her told her that the king would live.
[23:30] <!CYOA-sama> From the inferno a hand clad in gold reaches out like a bolt of lightning.
[23:30] <!CYOA-sama> "Ah..... I see....." Asterinian says with a listful smile seconds before the hand grabs her throat and drives her to the ground.
[23:31] <!CYOA-sama> "No.... won...der..... I couldn't.... win." She says as her ability to breath is stifled adn she slowly looses conciousness.
[23:31] <!CYOA-sama> Kneeling over her, uysing only enough strength to knock her out is Aldeas.
[23:31] <!CYOA-sama> His body unharmed by the flames.
[23:31] <!CYOA-sama> And on his chest, as if charred into his flesh, a glowing brand in the shape of a dragon.
[23:32] <!CYOA-sama> 'He's... got the Dragon crest. Maybe that's why my knees were so weak.'
[23:32] <!CYOA-sama> 'What a man....' Asterinian thinks as she loses conciousness.
[23:34] <!CYOA-sama> From the heatless flame englufing the forest Aldeas walks towars the city carrying Asterinian.
[23:34] <!CYOA-sama> Her petit frame, unfitting such a powerful fighter as she clings weakly to his neck while totally unconcious.
[23:34] <!CYOA-sama> Aldeas climbs the stairs to the palace.
[23:35] <!CYOA-sama> As he enters the throne room, the crest is still clearly visible.... no one asks but the curiosity is visible on the faces of everyone but Lucia.
[23:35] <!CYOA-sama> She sighs.
[23:35] <!CYOA-sama> "I suppose I'll have more competition when she wakes up then?" Lucia says with a pout.
[23:36] <!CYOA-sama> "What can I say.... I'm a charmer." Aldeas replies as he places the girl on the ground.
[23:36] <!CYOA-sama> The resheathed golden blade at his side still glows faintly as he returns it to it's proper place by the throne.
