  1. The Sangheili are a warrior people, masters of their planet, the unified Sangheili people had enjoyed a two thousand yearlong golden age brought about by the total unification of their people during a time known as “The End War” which signaled the end of the Age of Battle. A time when all of the different states on Sangheilios were in a fought one war after the other amongst themselves. This came to an end when the state of Atanair uncovered a ruin upon their planet that was later identified to be a massive and ancient alien ship that had been well preserved in the northern hemisphere of the planet. Atanair had managed to keep it secret from the other Sangheili states and spent the next century reverse engineering the alien technology and learning. On the dawn of the next century the state of Atanair made their move and “The End War” had begun. With their overwhelming technological advantage which brought them plasma weaponry, energy shielding, and powerful war machines along their soon to be trademarked glowing swords made from plasma the Atanair quickly dominated their neighboring states and forced them to submit. The only reason it can be known as a war is because the majority of the Sangheili states quickly recognized the danger and allied against Atanair. Many incredible battles and brilliant tactics were displayed during this war but in the end, the Atanair were victorious.
  2. What followed was a two thousand year Empire that refined their technology and attained complete self-sufficiency. They had no need to colonize other worlds and instead developed their home world into a shining and brilliant jewel. During this time of peace the Sangheili refused to become weak, the most common buildings to find were arena’s and various schools of martial practice, and one of the most valued educational backgrounds was History, specifically of “The End War” and most Sangheili could name the famous generals of that time off the top of their head. It was during this age that they were noticed by the proper galactic civilization, first contact was initiated and met with caution. After getting over the initial language barrier a delegation met with the current ruler of Sangheilios, Beros Kir’Atanairai. The delegation made a proper greeting and expressed to the noble Sangheili that they were impressed by the technology of the Sangheili, but, were curious about why they had not expanded into the rest of their system. Beros explained to them that the Sangheili had no wish to expand into space and that they had no need to for a good, long time. They had chosen instead to mold their planet into a great fortress as well as a shining city, so that every Sangheili could prosper. The delegation found the Sangheili’s reasoning odd but nevertheless they offered for the Sangheili to join the Galactic Civilization, they declined.

  4. The Sangheili had no desire to have a presence in the galactic community and merely asked to be left alone, the delegation warned them that if they refused to join the Galaxy Proper that many rights that would protect them from the predations of others would be denied to them, and that they would be open game for any upstarts. The Sangheili King arrogantly proclaimed to “Let them try”. The Delegation returned and news of the Sangheili and their technology spread throughout the Galaxy. A Utopian city, full of wonders and treasure, free from the Galaxy, and vulnerable. Many pirates sought to take advantage of the planet only to find their ships incapable of piercing the mighty bulwark that was the Sangheili’s orbital defenses. Eventually the ACCORD Company decided to contact the Sangheili and offered them a great deal of wealth in the form of raw materials, new technology and anything else they could name, in exchange for access to the Sangheili’s unique technology and the right to reproduce it. They were denied outright and the Sangheili left no room for negotiation and it was left at that.

  6. It was seventy years ago that an adolescent Xytan ’Atanair, heir to his people watched his world burn. A small asteroid had impacted their world a decade ago and somehow burrowed its way into the planet. The anomaly was investigated with all due haste but the object had burrowed at an incredible rate and the Sangheili had lost track of it, now, they paid the price for that failure. The planet shook and seemingly every volcano was erupting at once, the Seas overflowed and the icecaps melted, hurricanes were ravaging all tropical regions and their surrounding areas. The Sangheili were being undone, yet still, they endured. Evacuation ships launched by the thousands from the planet, their payload precious. The Sangheili had been forced from their homes but their quick action had saved many lives, in vain. Pirates, a fleet of pirates that outnumbered the Sangheili ships 3-1 awaited their ships and tore through them. The Sangheili fought back with valor but were overrun in the end despite their best efforts. Just as the last few hundred ships were about to be destroyed salvation came.

  8. ACCORD ships had entered the system having received the distress call from their potential customers and had come in force. They drove back the pirates and rescued the Sangheili. They were a broken people, billions of their kind had just been wiped out and their impenetrable fortress, their shining utopia was gone forever. ACCORD offered them hope and to resettle them in the galaxy. Xytan ’Atanairee had become the Sangheili leader in the absence of his now deceased father and he had decided to accept their offer on one condition, that ACCORD find out what destroyed Sangheilios and they put a stop to it, so that no other species every suffers as the Sangheili had. ACCORD agreed to their terms and the Sangheili’s gratitude was boundles. Many among the Sangheili, including Xytan himself swore themselves to ACCORD and now serve aboard many of their ships. Now, years later ACCORD have begun selling products featuring the Sangheili’s technology and Xytan has given up the burden of leadership and lives the simple life of a Ship Guard in ACCORD’s employ, working of what he believes to be his surviving peoples blood debt to ACCORD. After his last assignment Xytan has found his way to this ship and a new adventure begins. In his spare time he can either be found sharpening his skills or reading updates from the division ACCORD created to research the disaster that befell his people.
