- >A pain in your chest wakes you up, and you look down to see your torso wrapped in bandages.
- >"Oh, you're awake!"
- >You glance over and find a nurse by your side, checking your IV.
- >It takes a moment, but you remember what brought you here.
- >You were helping your village fend off a Grimm attack, but things didn't go too great.
- >The last thing you remember was taking an Ursa swipe to the chest as your Aura ran out.
- >Suddenly a finger is pressed to your nose and your snap back to reality.
- >"Welcome back to the land of the living."
- >You blink and look at the redhead by your side.
- >"So you were fighting Grimm, right? That means you're a Hunter, right? Did you go to Beacon too?!"
- >You shake your head slowly at her barrage of questions before coughing.
- >"Oh, is your throat sore? Ya know what helps my throat? Syrup. Oh, this place has the best syrup! Ya want me to get ya some? I mean, not alone, I'll bring some pancakes too, obviously."
- >She bursts into giggles and you shake your head again.
- >"Nonsense, I'll go get ya some. It'll help ya for sure, I promise!"
- >She skips out of the room, leaving you to wonder what the hell just happened.
- >You looked at the clock and saw it was 3 am.
- >There's no way she was actually bringing pancakes back.
- >Your eyes close, but just before you drift back to sleep, you hear here.
- >"I'm baaack!"
- >You open your eyes slowly to find her leaning over you with a stack of hotcakes, syrup drenching them.
- >You blink, but take the plate reluctantly.
- >She beams at you, waiting for your to try them.
- >Slowly, you cut off a piece with your fork and stick it in your mouth.
- >You chew, giving her a half-hearted smile.
- >All you wanted to do was sleep, but you knew she wasn't leaving until you finish your "medicine."
- >Soon enough, you swallow the last piece and hold the plate out to her.
- >She takes it and giggles, "Should I bring you another dose?"
- >You shake your head and mutter, "I just want to sleep."
- >She blinks, her smiling fading a moment before she nods, "R-right. Sorry."
- >She giggles before walking backwards out of the room, "I'll just let you get back to sleep."
- >You close your eyes again.
- >This was going to be a long recovery.
