  1. [08:14:43] War, Olivia had decided, was something you couldn't prepare for. You could train, and get stronger, you could condition your mind. You could prepare for battle, but war - war was an entirely different book. As the armies of the west and easy met, it was far more than Olivia could ever expect or fear.
  2.
  3. Blood, death - screams, crying. Olivia felt absolutely out of her element. When she finally saw people dying - she wanted to turn and run. She wanted to leave the battlefield, but a gentle hand resting upon her shoulder reminded her why she was here.
  4.
  5. For Danarium, for Abram.
  6.
  7. For the future of Valmasia.
  8.
  9. She gulped as her fingers wrapped around that same practice blade that she had grown so accustomed to. While Drachelöwen rested upon her back, the blade wrapped in some fine covering, she didn't count herself ready to use it - an actual weapon. Something designed - not to hurt, but to kill.
  10.
  11. She shivered to the thought. Would she have to kill here? Would she have to become a murderer?
  12.
  13. The thought plagued her thoughts as she finally charged into the field, her emotions steadying - relaxing as her guardian took hold of her. She feared that the cosmic entity would simply draw the axe the moment they had the chance, but it respected her wishes and remained with blade in hand as they changed into the field.
  14.
  15. Her steel clashed against the steel of New Alterosi, against hide of yokai and any other sort of creature she found herself facing. She knew, however, her place in the battle - she was a magi, one who was extremely capable at that. She knew that before the day was done, she would likely have to face another magi in the name of Danarium - one that may be far stronger.
  16.
  17. Her mind thought of those she knew in Nostvale - she thought of Mania, of Camelia - Amir... She thought of that Oscuri who helped scare the Yokai off. She didn't know much of their forces, but there were so many that she dreaded meeting on the field of combat - either for lack of confidence in her own abilities, or hating the idea of seeing them again, whether for fear or for pity.
  18.
  19. Right now, though, she acted as a flash of steel against the non magi and weaker yokai forces - her aura of cosmos not yet active, nor time bending to her will. It was simple skill that drive her forward, knocking down enemy forces while doing all she could to stay alive.
  20.
  21. It was all she could hope to do.
  22. (Olivia Reed)
  23.
  24. [08:22:24] Amidst the din of war and chaos, Camelia Falco felt vulnerable.
  25.
  26. This was what she had feared... The forces of the north marching against the rank and filed of Nostvale and the east. The lesser ones suffering for the misdeeds of their superiors. There was so much wrong with it... So much that needed to change. But as she looked out over the battlefield with the wrapped shape of Clockwork in hand, she knew that it was far too late to turn back. These people that were assailing them... These forces that sought to overcome her home and change it to better suit their vision of what Valmasia 'should' be.
  27.
  28. These forces that brought a justice that none of them wanted. She didn't know why the other magi among them fought... But she knew why she did. As the two forces clashed, Camelia went into action with little hesitation. Blades that sought to bite into the gaps in New Alterosi armor were stopped, split atwain by concentrated whips of water before their wielders were unrepentantly 'dealt with'.
  29.
  30. She was dancing through the frontlines of the enemy bit by bit. Casting a concerto of pain and death the likes of which only Clockwork could have taught her. There was no elation upon her lips. No emotion save for the cold tact of a soldier... She had shut herself off. But as she cut deeper and deeper into the line, there was something that broke that facade before her.
  31.
  32. Olivia was here. In front of her... She had been warned to stay out of her way, and yet she had not. She had still come to fight... And she was striking those that were undeserving. Her eyes widened, the stark whites fixating solely upon the Custodian as her mana surged to life. The blood of those that she had slain was infused with her depraved mana, and lifted to coalesce around her figure.
  33.
  34. "FACE ME, CUSTODIAN."
  35.
  36. Her call was powerful, riddled with fury and quavering with a lack of confidence... Despite all this, she wasn't going to let this come to pass. As the storm brewed overhead, fueled by Marciel Melym's lust. She knew the real reason that she had come here. It was for her... For Olivia. For her cousin, Aadi. For all those in the north that were mislead into believing that who they followed was the correct choice.
  37.
  38. She began to unwrap Clockwork. What seemed to be an unconscious application of her magic being utilized to keep any interruptions out of the way.
  39.
  40. "I... Told you. I told you to stay out of my way, but you came regardless. Are you... A fool?"
  41. (Camelia Falco)
  42.
  43. [08:38:36] As her foot passed beneath someone's legs, and her elbow jabbed into their stomach as they fell, Olivia heard the voice of a familiar girl ring out, she tensed slightly, turning her form to face Camelia, blade still raised and hardened - truly, she didn't seem entirely like that girl that had been in the woods. She seemed far too...
  44.
  45. Accustomed to battle. Though her face betrayed worry and fear, her blade did not shake.
  46.
  47. However, her legs bent slightly, as if about to dash in - but Olivia refused. She wasn't going to let her guardian deny her this. She pointed her blade down towards the ground, locking her gently brown eyes with those of the woman before her - the occultist, the killer -
  48.
  49. The one who could be saved.
  50.
  51. Olivia didn't waver, just shy of perpendicular with the ground. Her voice called out, far more gentle and yet confident - a confidence she didn't normally hold.
  52.
  53. She didn't want this chance to slip through her fingers.
  54.
  55. "Camelia! You-" Her eyes, trailing down the form of the Falco took note of the fabric wrapped about her arm. An echo of familiarity rang through her mind. She knew that fabric well enough, personally. "You kept it." She said, her tone surprised - she was taken aback by the revelation, but she quickly focused her mind.
  56.
  57. "...You don't need to fight, Camelia. This is a battle you can walk away from. You can come back to Danarium with me, to Aadi.. You can still avoid any more fighting. We can forgive you. We can show you the way, we can show you Kraus.
  58.
  59. "There's no need for this fight."
  60. (Olivia Reed)
  61.
  62. [08:46:17] She could avoid this..?
  63.
  64. Her eyes widened. She could say something like that, when they were surrounded by this death and chaos..? She could speak so confidently, while Danarite steel plunged into Nostvalian flesh? There was but a moment where she ceased unraveling her vaunted weapon. A touch of hesitation- perhaps to be contrived as serious consideration..? There was no way she could ignore this. no way that she could just lay down her weapon when those of her home were being slaughtered.
  65.
  66. The storm above set an undeniable course for her to follow. The Bard's influence had already touched her more than once... Merely being exposed to it was enough to sink her to the depths of the sin it embodied. She didn't need Kraus. She didn't need Olivia. She didn't need Aadi.
  67.
  68. They needed her, and she would make them see that.
  69.
  70. Her tongue clicked... Something changing in her posture as she completely removed the cloth from her depraved weapon of choice. Her right hand's fingers curled inwards experimentally... Strings of mana keeping the stave held aloft in order for her to avoid directly touching it.
  71.
  72. "You expect me to surrender while you allow these forces to take eachother's lives..? You think that Kraus can alleviate this sin from all of us? I do not need to come to Danarium. I do not need to avoid fighting. I need to save my home from you and yours misguided sense of right!" It was directionless. Listless, and free of the powerful influence that others afflicted with a similar depravity possessed...
  73.
  74. But it was undeniable that each of her words was filled with a taste that was far from normal. Like a mouth full of gravel.
  75.
  76. "There would have been no need if you had not come. But you did... I can show you why 'you' are on the wrong side. You. Aadi." Her fingertips extended towards Clockwork, ready to snatch it up at a moment's notice.
  77.
  78. "You both belong with me."
  79. (Camelia Falco)
  80.
  81. [08:53:58] Olivia frowned. It was somber - she really hoped she could avoid this fight, she thought back to Aadi who had assured her Camelia was a good person - and she believed it! She believed there was still hope for the girl, and she still did. That's why...
  82.
  83. "I'm sorry, Camelia, but if you will not come peacefully, then..." Her blade was raised once more, unsharpened steel pointed towards the horned teenager. "Then I will fight you. I will take you with me. We can show you, we will show you. Under Kraus, all can be forgiven. Your sins, your mistakes. You can be better. You'll see that." It was a mantra Olivia had told many people - she thought back to Abram and spared a glance around - nowhere in sight.
  84.
  85. Would they find him in the city, should they push through?
  86.
  87. She steeled her resolve - she could not give up on Camelia here, no matter what she had done. No matter with what anger she regarded Olivia with. She would save her from the darkness that was taking her as she had failed to save so many in the past.
  88.
  89. The golden light of the cosmos surrounded her form, a long breath escaping her lips. "I'm sorry, Camelia. I don't want to hurt you, I really don't." She sounded genuine, she sounded concern.
  90.
  91. But if this was where destiny would take them, so be it.
  92. (Olivia Reed)
  93.
  94. [08:59:05] Her hands grasped the brass haft of Clockwork... Pain was her only companion.
  95.
  96. Pain that lanced through every inch of her body and caused her to throw her head back in pain, mouth wide as a bloodcurdling scream left her lips. Her body seemed to writhe... Where she bent forward, grasping her face sharply with her free hand as her breathing came ragged and shallow. She ehard nothing but discouragement from the weapon... Nothing but an assurance that she would be able to accomplish nothing, even with the well of power that it provided. Tears brimmed as she lfited herself back to her full height, forcing herself to hold the stave properly.
  97.
  98. Forcing herself through the pain for the purpose she was fighting for.
  99.
  100. "You w-will not... Take me a-away from my home! The very thought was a nightmare. The very idea an addition to the pain incurred by her weapon, even amplified by it's inflence... This thing fed off of her negativity. It fed off her desire to inflict the pain that it inflicted upon her, and in truth? She adored it.
  101.
  102. "I'll show you your error. You will see from within... You will see what it is your 'friends' are trying to erase! I'll show you what you could have!" Raw energy. The blood of the fallen... And a chilling darkness that seemed to rip at the very essence. All of these came to bare at once, attempting to bring Olivia to the ground with ruthless intent.
  103.
  104. Desire
  105. (Camelia Falco)
  106.
  107. [09:11:53] The battle was draining, but a fine example of what a battle between two warriors, equally matched in skill looked like. What Olivia packed in physical strength and agility, Camelia matched with durability and magical potency. When she was struck by energy, she was sent reeling, but it seemed for the moment that cosmic mana was set to overcome Camelia's.
  108.
  109. Though Olivia felt her mana reserves straining through how much she had to burn through, she was still able to force an opening using her time magic, before spiraling through the battleflield in a flash of golden light, crashing her fist against Camelia's shoulder, likely knocking Camelia off balance as she turned and skidded back, recovering.
  110.
  111. She was panting, but she called upon the power of the stars, slowly refilling her mana, offering her the energy she would need to fight once again.
  112.
  113. "C-Camelia, come on... You don't need to do this, you really don't..." Olivia pleaded, her voice exhausted already. Her blade, however, was still at the ready.
  114.
  115. She wasn't going to relent if Camelia wouldn't yield.
  116. (Olivia Reed)
  117.
  118. [09:16:09] This was the benefit to her pain. The inexhaustible well of mana that Clockwork had given her had left her far better off than Olivia's cosmic magic had... She could see the wear in her face- but she was not oblivious to her own pain. Blood flowed, lifting from her wounds and intermixing with the terrible aura that incapsulated her. Above, the storm continued to grow into a feverpitch... Emeraldine sheet lightning arcing through the clouds, each lance sending down a terrible signal to Camelia's mind.
  119.
  120. Each strike that was landed against her was nothing more than encouragement... Reinforcement that what she was doing was the right thing. She had to save Olivia and Aadi from those on the other side. Those that wanted to do wrong by them. That wanted to use them as nothing more than weapons to fight their wars for them! A whip of water shot forth in an attempt to strike Olivia down. To wrap around her throat and yank her down to the dirt below- but her agility was outmatched!
  121.
  122. She missed... And a sharp blow to her shoulder caused her to skid back, barely managing to keep her already shaky footing.
  123.
  124. "I... I need to. I NEED TO! They'll all die if I don't! I can't bring them back yet... I can't! I won't let your rulers do it!"
  125.
  126. Her stave swung wide- and the miasma of crimson mist that hovered over their respective area grew dense... Suffocating.
  127.
  128. She charged this time.
  129. (Camelia Falco)
  130.
  131. [09:22:08] Her conviction would not be outdone.
  132.
  133. Her stave flew with the alacrity of a maestro... Though it was not a concerto of sound that she directed. It was energy. It was pure concentrated mana that slammed into the figure of the cosmic swordsman that she faced, whittling her down and squeezing her limbs and body til she could hardly move... The assault was far from over. In fact, it had only just begun!
  134.
  135. Each attempt to close the gap was meant with a powerful repercussion. Hypercompressed jets of water pushed her back... Raw energy slammed into her chest, causing her to fly til the beam gave way and allowed her to tumble upon the ground. It was one such spell that sealed the fate of their second clash, where Camelia then lowered her stave and held herself high. She couldn't allow herself to relent to the pain... She had to ignore it. She had to embrace it.
  136.
  137. There was something far stronger that needed to be sated. Why was she really here..? Was it really for so just a reason as keeping her home safe?
  138.
  139. Perhaps.
  140.
  141. "I don't need Kraus... I... I don't need your friends. I don't need your salvation. Do you understand it yet?!"
  142. (Camelia Falco)
  143.
  144. [09:28:57] Olivia was caught off guard, but she fought another round to the most of her capabilities. Her blade was as true as ever, but Camelia had the chance to strike back, overcoming Olivia's direct and close fighting style with her ability to keep a distance.
  145.
  146. But even when send tumbling, Olivia was able to turn the tumble around, acrobatically landing back at her feet, blade still pointed towards the Falco that stood opposite her. She grit her teeth, nervousness welling within her stomach. Was this going to be her last fight? Before she could even hope to achieve her goals?
  147.
  148. "You don't know what you need, Camelia. You need help! They've twisted you, taught you things that aren't true! You need to see the light, and we can show it to you! Come with me, and you'll see it." Olivia once more pleaded.
  149.
  150. ...But she knew how well it would work, knowing how well it had worked in the past, and so she was just as ready to fight as she had been since she faced the Falco.
  151. (Olivia Reed)
  152.
  153. [09:35:47] There was no such thing as a lie that could spill forth from the lips of her teachers. There was no lie to be gleaned from the Bard of Danarium's teachings... Simple though they were, they had gifted unto Camelia a far deeper understanding of her purpose than she had possessed prior. She was not here to be listless. She was not here to be just another product of the whims of fate. She was here to take it into her own hands... She was here to bare witness to all the beauty of the world-
  154.
  155. And make it her own.
  156.
  157. "I've seen things more beautiful than you can hope to fathom, Olivia. But if you relent... Throw down your weapon. Come with me! I can introduce you to them. I can show you the things that have made me how I am..." Her grip upon Clockwork tightened. Now reveling in the pain that it inflicted... It was a benefit to her, after all. it was a gift of her father's in order to spurn her growth at a rate faster than most magi could attain.
  158.
  159. That was what was happening here. Wasn't it?
  160.
  161. "I know exactly what I need. It's you, who doesn't... That's why i'll show you. Don't you see i'm trying to help you?"
  162. (Camelia Falco)
  163.
  164. [09:40:03] Olivia wasn't hearing any of it. "You don't understand what you stand for! You don't understand the darkness that those you defend hold! The evil they fight for! You're better than them, Camelia, you could be so much better!" She said, standing back up from the injuries she had sustained.
  165.
  166. She grit her teeth, her blade still held high - it seemed she wasn't about ready to surrender yet, but.
  167.
  168. "You had to have seen it! Abram Falco! He thought he couldn't be a good person, he was sure that he couldn't get any better, but I showed him! I let him see all he could be! If you could talk to him, he would tell you! I can help you!" She said. "I-in fact, I invite you to go and find him now! Ask him!" She seemed certain in her words.
  169.
  170. "I can show you the path! I can show you the light!"
  171. (Olivia Reed)
  172.
  173. [09:44:19] It just didn't end.
  174.
  175. "Do you have a right to say things like that to me..? Content as you are to plod after the queen and her crones, holding out hope that 'you' will be able to change how they do business? You tell me I lack a purpose. But you don't even know what you want!" Her arms spread wide, tears still falling unconsciously from her widened eyes as she began to walk closer to the Custodian before her. Her body was covered in cuts and bruises... Blood continued to rise to join her aura, and it seemed as though she had a rather pronounced limp, favoring her left leg.
  176.
  177. "You... Actually... Knew him?" It made her pause. The way that she had spoken before, she had presumed Abram to be nothing more than a vague acquaintance to her- as he was to her. He was just a cousin, wasn't he? A boy that she had occasionally shared days with in leisure, but nothing more... She had built no rapport with him beyond the ties of blood that laced their family together.
  178.
  179. "The path you showed him... Don't you think that is what killed him? You expect me to allow you to drag me doen as well?" Her grip tightened, and the stave slammed heavily upon the ground.
  180.
  181. "You can't be trusted to make your own decisions... But it's okay. I'll forgive your mistake, really!"
  182.
  183. The look on her face bespoke otherwise.
  184. (Camelia Falco)
  185.
  186. [09:56:16] 'Killed him'.
  187.
  188. Though as Camelia spoke, Olivia thought of how she might respond to her words, that word had destroyed it all. It was like an explosion that sent her body reeling, ears ringing - she couldn't even hear anything else Camelia had to say. Her breathing stopped for that moment, her cosmic aura vanishing as all her worst fears came to term.
  189.
  190. How long had it been so? How many days had she spent thinking of how to help him more, all the things she had to show him - how long had it been pointless. Her eyes were wide, tears forming in the corners as her throat felt as if it had a huge lump.
  191.
  192. Was it her fault? Was Camelia right?
  193.
  194. Her mouth rested slightly agape. Did Abram now lie dead, and it was all her fault?
  195.
  196. Her legs trembled, arms shaking - no longer was her guardian in control. This was her, a young, vulnerable girl in a warzone, staring down someone with many things in her mind but Olivia's best intentions being far from one of them.
  197.
  198. But as far reeling as it sent her, it also woke something else.
  199.
  200. The training blade slipped from her grasp, pushing through the soil and standing upright. Olivia's gaze did not leave Camelia. However, her hand trailed upwards, fingers squeezing around the hilt of the axe that rested upon her back.
  201.
  202. She felt cold. She felt alone.
  203.
  204. But she didn't feel afraid.
  205.
  206. There was a flash of golden light as that cosmic glow around her returned, awakening with far more ardour than before. Were she to fall here, then who knew who else would? If she accepted defeat, what sort of knight was she? Who could she save?
  207.
  208. She would be nothing but useless.
  209.
  210. The wrap that held the blade fell to the ground, and Drachelöwen's blade was pointed towards the mage that stood against her.
  211.
  212. There was only two words that escaped her lips as she stared down Camelia.
  213.
  214. "I'm sorry."
  215.
  216. She was, in that moment, not only speaking to the horned warrior who was her enemy, but to those she failed to protect. To Lionel, to Red, to Abram.
  217.
  218. She was a failure, she wouldn't believe that to be false.
  219.
  220. But Kraus be damned if she wasn't going to rise above that, if she wasn't going to be a hero.
  221.
  222. In that moment, even for a loser like her, failure was not an option, and unbenknowest to Camelia...
  223.
  224. For the first time, the power she presented was truly her own.
  225. (Olivia Reed)
  226.
  227. [10:01:23] And it only made her that much more desireable.
  228.
  229. It was with the dull enunciation of her blade falling into the sand beneath that her lips tugged upwards into the premonition of a smile... This was waht she had wanted. She could feel the disappointment. The negativity. The dejection. As Marciel's storm boomed overhead- dimming in lieu of her defeat. She only felt more encouraged. more certain that where she stood now was ground that she was forging. Her arms spread wide as she watched the colors of emotion trace through Olivia's face, eventually leaving nothing but a blank grey behind...
  230.
  231. But it was a form of determination that she had not borne witness to before. It was absolute- and it wasn't the voice of her 'guardian' that spoke to her. It wasn't the guardian that she would be fighting any longer, and she was full prepared for that fact.
  232.
  233. "Then come... Let me forgive you."
  234.
  235. She didn't yield. Didn't budge. She was in the favorable ground here- and she intended to act like it.
  236. (Camelia Falco)
  237.
  238. [10:09:55] A new fury had been awoken in Olivia - not something wrathful and impure, but something more introspective. She had spent so much time being afraid of everything, and she always knew it - but now, her eyes had been opened to what exactly the cost of cowardice was.
  239.
  240. Friends of hers dead - and perhaps there was nothing she could do, but such was in her nature that she couldn't help but feel responsible. The golen light of the cosmos was unwavering, and she felt a hidden force being impressed - she knew it to be her guardian, who had had to fight every single one of her battles in the past.
  241.
  242. Now, with this burning need to rise victorious welling within her, she was her own person - her own warrior.
  243.
  244. The fight was far different from the others, while they had dragged out in the past, Olivia was relentless, staying in Camelia's face constantly, only falling back to avoid various attacks - she managed to avoid being sent away, and as she acrobatically flipped over the occultist, she managed to give her a kick to the back, aimed to send her stumbling forward.
  245.
  246. And when she turned, Olivia would still be there, axe at her side, battle stance ready, and her eyes ardent.
  247.
  248. She was ready for whatever may come.
  249. (Olivia Reed)
  250.
  251. [10:16:44] She hadn't taken the time to prepare for such a second wind as this.
  252.
  253. She was battered, beaten back and bested... No matter what spell she attempted to weave, it seemed as though olivia was but one step ahead. Circumventing her powerful streams- and shrugging off the projectiles with which she pelted her. It was with a desperate swing of Clockwork to clash with her blade that she was forced back, caught by a high speed reversal and a kick to her back that sent her face first into the ground. But not without delivering a potent message through the connection of brass and steel...
  254.
  255. In that short contact, Olivia would have gotten a taste of what holding the vaunted weapon was like. A brief shriek of pain and terror- the likes of which was constantly present within Camelia's mind. Shakily, she began to push herself to her feet... Her body nearly at it's limit, absent of the cosmic source from which to draw power that Olivia had.
  256.
  257. She was alone.
  258.
  259. Her fingertips curled in the sand as her teeth clamped together... She was alone, and there was nothing she could do to change it. She was a nuisance to those in the city. A nuisance upon which they couldn't be bothered to spend their time- to give their secrets to. It was all she wanted, wasn't it..? To be desired. To be given things freely because those that beheld her wished it.
  260.
  261. It would be so much easier that way... If she was like the Bard.
  262.
  263. She pushed herself back to her feet, regaining her ground as she looked up at the clearing sky. The storm of lust was gone- the Bard having retreated from her defeat. But Camelia's eyes were filled with the same dejection... The same dark fervor that had spurned her on as she looked back to her opponent, turning to face her. Her stave arm quivered violently, her pain threshold nearly broken.
  264.
  265. It was do or die as far as she knew... Who knew when that zealous guardian would take over again? Would it be when her axe was upon her throat..? Would it be when she thought she had the upper hand?
  266.
  267. It didn't matter.
  268.
  269. She wouldn't be denied. She was right... And this girl was wrong. It was her duty to show her what she needed, wasn't it?
  270.
  271. So she closed the distance once more.
  272. (Camelia Falco)
  273.
  274. [10:25:16] There was a calculation to her movements that seemed far too instinctual to be normal.
  275.
  276. This was nothing more than an exertion of her desires... This was what Marciel had wanted, right? This is the thing that she had been told that she had to do. Take what she wanted... Make what she wanted want her. It was how things were meant to be, she knew it to be true. She took measured step after measured step, insuring that there would be proper distance that she could abuse her technique. A proper distance to crush every attempt to bring her to the ground again, and rebuke her desire with her own.
  277.
  278. She was too potent to be denied. Why didn't she realize this?
  279.
  280. It was with a powerful swing of her left hand that caused the final series to be struck. A tendril of water lashed outwards, curling itself around her opponent's throat and lifting her easily into the air. Olivia arced overhead, being brought heavily into the ground on the opposite side where Camelia began to walk... Maintaining the whip, maintaining her dominance, and stopping seom two feet away from her.
  281.
  282. "You're forgiven, you radiant little thing... It could have been so much easier if you had just accepted it. What type of penance do you think that would have been..? Brutalizing his cousin and making her do what she didn't want to do?" Her right foot lifted, and pressed heavily upon Olivia's chest. Denying her the right to sit up.
  283.
  284. "You're more evil than I think you realize... But all is well. As I said! You 'are' forgiven... What do you have to say for yourself?"
  285.
  286. The tendril laxed, and it seemed that she was giving her the opportunity to speak!
  287. (Camelia Falco)
  288.
  289. [10:39:47] Olivia was powerful - even on her own, with this awakened desire she could match very nearly what her guardian could provide. While less refined than the expert techniques her guardian offered, her intuition and raw potential lent itself to a power that seemed like it should be far past a girl of only 12 years.
  290.
  291. ...However, for every movement she made, instinct proved less than calculation - intuition second to intellect. While she was close, so very close, victory slipped just out of her grasp as she felt herself grappled and carried by the water, smashed into the ground and breath stolen from her - Drachelöwen skidded far from her grasp, tensing fingers failing to grab at it before it was too late.
  292.
  293. Her eyes glanced to her fallen blade, far out of reach - then to the axe, just lost, fingers curling into fists.
  294.
  295. Was this really how she fell? A failure before she could prove herself capable of being a hero? Her watering eyes turned to tears as she though to Lionel, Galahad, Aadi, and all those back home that she hadn't done right by yet - as she thought to Abram and Red, who she failed to save.
  296.
  297. Her tenseness faded, as did her aura.
  298.
  299. She really was weak, wasn't she? Worthless, really.
  300.
  301. She was given realm to speak, and so she did - not so defiant nor brave as to fight that. Her mind bounced - hurting Camelia was far from what she wanted, she wanted to save her, but...
  302.
  303. She opened her lips.
  304.
  305. "Ponder all that I have told you. I will impart upon you the three most beautiful words a man can ever say. I forgive you." An excerpt from the book of Kraus, would it be recognisable by Camelia - the final words of the gospel of Lodeus.
  306.
  307. However, her words didn't end there, as she past her gaze away from Camelia, shame welling up in her but not reaching out past her cowardice, she closed her eye and uttered four last words - pleading, her pride not so much that she could be brave even in defeat. "Please, don't kill me..."
  308. (Olivia Reed)
  309.
  310. [10:46:36] Her expression remained complacent as the gospel was given to her... But it was not lost. She had heard of the gospel of Lodeus, but hadn't bothered digging further into it... She didn't have the need of the love of a god. Nor did she need the love of its followers given by their influence. Her lips curled downwards in disgust... And the heel of her shoe drove more deeply into her opponent's chest as she leaned forward, her hair falling to conceal her face from the view of those around. Soldiers retreating... The area clearing, naught but corpses left behind.
  311.
  312. "Why would I kill what I fought so hard to claim..? Silly girl."
  313.
  314. She looked her in the eye for a great deal of time. A Krausite- and her first victory on the field of battle for her home. She saw a person before her- yes. But more than that, she saw a possession. This was what she had been told to do. This was the position she had been told to place herself in, and she had succeeded as she had expected she would. It was simply a matter of taking her back... A matter of beginning to show her the side that she was missing.
  315.
  316. "You are safe with me. That much I can promise... But should you stray, I make no guarantees. I can show you what Abram wanted to save. I can show you what I want to protect. And you will understand."
  317.
  318. She looked over her shoulder, noting with a cough of blood that the soldiers had begun to disperse. She wanted to inflict more upon her... She wanted to see her face writhe in pain and realization of her failure, but she wasn't willing to do it here. Should she become too ensconced within the throes of it, might she end up 'breaking' her as Marciel had her own toys?
  319.
  320. How ugly would 'that' be?
  321.
  322. "You've made your choice by falling to me. I'll be taking you to your new home... Shortly."
  323. (Camelia Falco)
