  1. >You are anon and you feel like complete shit, but you don't show it.
  2. >This is the hardest thing that you have ever had to do
  3. >This is all your fault and you know it
  4. >You tried to play a prank on Dashie during one of her stunts
  5. >You had decided to hide some black rope in a tunnel and have her fly through it as fast as she could
  6. Stupid, stupid, stupid
  7. >One of her wings just had some bruises and a few missing feathers, the other one...
  8. >Dislocated wing socket, compound humerus fracture, broken radius and ulma
  9. >It's a miracle that she was even able to keep it attached at all
  10. >The doctor wants a word with you
  11. >he pulls you aside because he didn't have the heart to tell her that she would never fly again
  12. >Now she's not just hurt, but crippled
  13. >To a pegasus, that might as well mean death
  14. >To Rainbow Dash, it's much worse
  15. >"Hello? Equestria to Anon. Are you listening to me? I asked where we're going"
  16. "Oh sorry Rainbow,I was just thinking of something"
  17.
  18. >Eventually, you broke the news to her
  19. >Tears formed in her eyes as the reality of the situation sunk in
  20. >She couldn't even go home
  21. >You offered her a room in your house , to which she just snapped at you.
  22. >"THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!!! YOU STUPID BUCKING APE!! BECAUSE OF YOU I'LL NEVER FLY AGAIN"
  23.
  24. >"Hah, well don't hurt yourself there, Monkey boy"
  25. >Her wing was supposed to be bandaged up right now but with Rainbow Dash being Rainbow Dash, doctors' orders never meant too much
  26. >The cerulean color that once occupied her feathery appendage was now gone, replaced by scar tissue and stitches
  27. >you walk Rainbow Dash to a vacant part of the lake as the sun is winding down
  28. >"Sweet Celestia, you were right about this place, it's beautiful"
  29. >The Two of you find a nice spot under a tree by the lake
  30. >Your relationship wasn't a romantic one. you worked up the courage to asked her once, to which she politely rejected. It wasn't that you were human, it's just that she wasn't on board with the whole "male" thing
  31.
  32. >She was staying with Fluttershy
  33. >For three weeks, Rainbow had completely cut you out of her life
  34. >The first time that you tried to visit her, Fluttershy had told you off before slamming the door in your face
  35. >The subsequent attempts were ruined presumably by Discord
  36. >Sometimes the path to her house would become endless, sometimes you would find yourself walking backwards
  37. >One time Fluttershy's front door vanished just as you were about to knock
  38. >Eventually, she forgave you.
  39. >Hell Rainbow even apologized for how she severed her ties with you
  40. >After a real tear-jerker of a reunion, some laughing, followed by more tears, then dinner plans, the two of you were as close as you ever were
  41.
  42. >You set down your backpack down and pull a long, metal object that was partially sticking out of it
  43. >The mere action of this catches the attention of the young mare
  44. >"Hey, what's that in your hand?"
  45. >No turning back now
  46. "Listen Rainbow, this here is a special tool from my world"
  47. >You say, slightly waving a dusty, 2 barrel shotgun in your hand for emphasis
  48. "It fixes all of your problems: depression, alcoholism, illnesses, and it can even save you in life or death situations,"
  49. >You could see her eyes widen
  50. >With her voice crakcing, she manages "C-can it fix my wing?"
  51. >You tell her yes
  52. >As she hears this, her mouth widens into the biggest smile that you've ever seen on this mare. You swear that you can see moisture in her eyes
  53. >"H-How does it work"
  54. "You just wish for something you really really want and a flash comes out of this tube. Before you know it, you'll be flying amongst the clouds, without a worry to your name"
  55. >She struggles to keep her cool composure
  56. >"That can't be possible" she says as nonchalantly as she can
  57. "Back home I was not in a good place to be; my mother died of a horrifying illness and my wife saw this as an excellent time to leave me. She wanted to cause me as much damage as she could, so she took the kids with her"
  58. >Her gaze now picked up a sympathetic feel to them
  59. "One night, I grabbed a bottle of whiskey, wrote a note for my loved ones, put the end of this thing against my head, and I woke up in the Everfree Forest"
  60. >Tears are now streaming down her face as her emotions let loose
  61. >you are then tackled by a blue blur
  62. >"Celestia bless you, Anon!!! You"
  63. >this hits you deep and now you're looking like a teary eyed faggot
  64. "I'm so sorry I did this to you Rainbow, I promise I'll make this as painless as I can"
  65. Rainbow Dash sniffles "no need to get emotional when I'll be so soon"
  66. >"So, what do I do?"
  67. "Turn around and look at the lake to make it easier to imagine this"
  68. >She rotates her body, facing the lake before plopping down on the grass
  69. "Just look over at this here lake and envision yourself soaring over the clouds"
  70. >You speak as you inch the barrels of your gun closer and closer to her head
  71. "The wind just blowing through your mane"
  72. >This mare saved you when you first arrived
  73. "Everyp0ny cheering you on"
  74. >She stood up for you when ponies called you a monster and a freak, even Twilight took part
  75. "Imagine just slicing through the air as not. even sound itself can keep up with you"
  76. >She better than any friend back home
  77. "Your friends and family cheering for you"
  78. >"Mom and dad too?" her voice breaking
  79. >Dash told you that she was an orphan one day
  80. >You silently nod as your hands shake the gun that you're holding
  81. "You're take the lead, the race is almost over"
  82. >You are about to kill the one creature that you love almost as much as your own children
  83. "And you cross the finish line"
  84. >You could see her good wing spring open, her injured one not to far behind
  85. >It had to be now before she hurt herself even more
  86. >The chirping of birds is interrupted by a loud roar
  87. >Followed by silence
  88. >Ponies carried on as usual, thinking that it was just Thunderlane scaring foals again with some clouds
