The incident that I am trying to bring to IC3's attention is a situation in which I am not the victim. Rather a United States Congressman Anthony Weiner of NY is the victim. This Congressman had his social networks accounts compromised (Facebook and Twitter) within the past 48 hours. While I am confident that official business was not discussed through these accounts I believe having an elected official's accounts compromised should carry a sense of urgency beyond a regular citizen encountering the same problem. After all, if those accounts were compromised it is entirely possible that the hackers have obtained access to other private and/or official information that is not intended for public release. Since the launch of Wikileaks it seems that the release of official and confidential government information has grown exponentially. Unfortunately we don't know the intentions of these hackers or the amount of information they retrieved. It could have been a prank or the perpetrators can have extraordinarily nefarious intentions. I imagine you will receive more than just my complaint on this issue. My concern is that the targeting of elected representatives is equal to the seditious acts in the aforementioned Wikileaks scenario. I would like to thank you for your time and consideration on this matter and I hope this was nothing more than a prank.
