  1. Poedit setup

  3. Poedit needs to be setup properly in order to translate the right strings.
  4.  
  5. Make sure that you have created and saved your .po file (or is created already)
  6. Select Catalog > Properties
  7. In the Translation properties enter the name of your project into Project name and version
  8. You should have selected your language already
  9. Select UTF-8 for both Charset and Source code charset
  10. Switch to Source paths tab
  11. In the Base path enter ../..
  12. In the Paths click New item icon and enter ../.. again
  13. Switch to Source keywords tab
  14. Click again on New item icon and enter __ (it's two underscores characters)
  15. Click OK
  16. Now click on Update and you should see the list of all translatable strings from source PHP files
  17. Setup the Poedit so it can translate the source .php files
