  1. Embraal was not the easiest part of the city to make a living in, and Anuja had no one to blame but herself for ending up in the gang infested urban battlegroubd. She should have done better research to discover why rent was so cheap, she should have been a better gearsmith, and she should have stayed with a her parents for a little while longer. She did none of those things, so she has found her already limited aether supplies gutted by inventor gang racketeering, wasn't able to join any of said gangs because of her medicore skills as an inventor, and those circumstances  welded down with pride.
  2.
  3. For a long time, Anuja struggled through a loop of working as a grunt welder, paying off gang rackets, coming up short on rent, and inexplicably ruining her inventions if she became frustrated enough. It baffled her; she wasn't rough enough to break the metals she worked with. She'd lightly palm contraptions of brads or steel, and they'd sometimes just fracture.
  4.
  5. If she were smarter,  she could have realized sooner that the primary reason for her poor skills as an inventor could give her a leg up in life. When she finally realized she could refine her seemingly odd ability to damage or even shatter metals with mere touch, she was the happiest she'd ever been since she set out on her own.
  6.
  7. Anuja stole one of the suits of steel welding armor from the factory she worked at, modified it to keep her face hidden, and set about trying to sell off her destructive capabilities to the highest bidder.
  8.
  9. The plan went terribly, and she would have died if not for her planeswalker spark.
  10.
  11. Now she searches the multiverse for extraordinary individuals who can teach her the skills she needs to survive within it.
