  1. I'm volunteering with the East Coast Pirate Crew, so I'll be in tomorrow and can talk about this with y'all directly, but I just noticed a licensing problem with one of the events. I'm a moderator for the SCP Foundation wiki (http://www.scp-wiki.net/), which is covered in its entirety by the Creative Commons Attribution - ShareAlike 3.0 License (described here: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/). Basically, any derivative of our material has to have attribution back to the source clearly marked. The LARP running under the name "Skeptics of Conspiracy and the Paranormal (SCP) Foundation Conference" is fairly clearly a derivative of our site, as the description is highly reminiscent of our material, and the name is even identical to one of our "front sites" (http://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/links http://scp-society.wikidot.com/).

  3. I am NOT saying that you need to cancel the LARP. I've discussed this with other Staff members of the wiki and we're actually quite pleased that someone took the initiative to do this. HOWEVER, correct attribution does need to be made in the program (editing the .pdf and attaching an insert to already-printed materials would be sufficient, I believe) and other schedule materials that links back to our site. I would also appreciate it if you could contact the people running the LARP and let them know this as well, as I have been entirely unable to locate who it is from our end.

  5. I will be getting to the hotel tomorrow (Friday) at about noon, and feel free to call me tonight about this if you get this message in time. My phone is [REDACTED]. If the people running the LARP ask who the hell I am to demand this, tell them that I'm a moderator on the wiki, and my username is Drewbear (http://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/guide-to-newbies Under the "Senior Staff" tab).

  7. Again, we (the staff of the wiki) are very pleased that someone wanted to run a LARP based on us, but we also have to insist that it follows the CC-SA-3.0 license.
