- MMX2 any% does not *require* you to get any pickups. However, getting the Shoryuken powerup in Sigma 3 (the 3rd stage after the 8 Mavericks) makes the last part of the game much easier and faster. To get it, you must pick up all Heart Tanks, Sub Tanks, and item capsules. You must then approach the capsule in Sigma 3 with full health (you can use a sub-tank before approaching it). To use the Shoryuken, you must be at full health, then push Forward --> Down --> Down-Forward --> Y.

- NOTE: To get the capsule, you can either do a precise walljump off the right wall, use the strike chain, or come back with the boot upgrade after Overdrive Ostrich.

- NOTE: If you do not know the neon jump trick, you must come back after getting defeating Crystal Snail, and use his weapon on an enemy to reach the heart tank.

- NOTE: See above regarding making the capsule spawn. You can approach it either from below using Crystal Snail's weapon on an enemy, or from above via precise dashes.
- Miscellaneous notes:
- - Collecting Zero parts (AKA defeating the X-Hunters that appear on the stage select screen) is not needed in any%.
- - For easy subtank refills, visit Bubble Crab's stage with the X-Buster upgrade and Morph Moth weapon. Get to the enclosed area in the lower left by traveling through the wall to its right, and charge the Morph Moth weapon. You will receive a set of energy pickups.
