  3.
  4. W: Hey, you came.
  5. L: Yeah.
  6. L: I don't think I could have not come after the way you asked
  7. W: You say that but you still came in good faith. I love that about you. To the point where it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say I adore you.
  8. L: Forget about that. This is about KeA right? Let me hear it.
  9. W: Hehe, roger.
  10.
  11. W: To be honest I can't talk about this with outsiders but as far as the church is concerned, no matter how this event is settled there will be a no touch policy when dealing with the Zero Septerrion.
  12. L: Really?
  13. W: Yeah. Ouroboros has pulled back and the original Septerrion is still missing so we don't have a basis to intervene. Which means we don't have the option to take KeA away anymore.
  14. L: Thank you for letting me now. Won't it be a problem though if you keep co operating with us?
  15. W: The Fool and the 7th Anguis might have withdrawn but I haven't been able to confirm the 6th Anguis's retreat. There's also the matter of all the technology the Society provided the Crois family with starting with those Archaisms. Even now they have a huge influence. Until that goes away I plan to keep intervening albeit as little as possible.
  16. L: I see. The more I listen the more it seems like a far from normal conflict is unfolding.
  17. W: Hehe, this isn't a conversation about the world you guys live in but a bigger one and the connection between outside appearances and behind the scenes. And perhaps I feel it's important completing my 2-year mission of infiltrating Crossbell.
  18. L: Ah that's right. You're 17 so 2 years ago...that means you got your mission when you were 15. Isn't a Dominion quite a big position?
  19. W: Oh yeah you can't just become a Dominion because of your achievements. The only ones who can are the ones who manifest a "sign" so it's all preordained. Well it's a dubious position given how occultic it sounds.
  20. L: Should you really be saying that yourself?
  21.
  22. L: About that "sign" though. Could be it that thing you've showed us sometimes during battle?
  23. W: Yeah. It is called Stigma. It a seal carved deep in your soul. An abomination that is the source of our power. Mine appeared about 7 years ago.
  24. L: 7 years ago?
  25. W: It doesn't really have anything to do with the D G cult. But if you wanna kill some time I'll tell you.
  26. L: Right. If it doesn't bother you then I'd like to hear it. I'm more or less familiar with your personality and behaviour but when you think about it I don't really know anything about your past.
  27. W: Hehe, very well.
  28.
  29. W: I was born on a remote region of Zemuria. Contact with the outside was prohibited. You could call it an isolated village. In that vilage they worshiped a "God" from the ancient times, different from Aidios. I could hear "God's" voice since young age so I bore the role of a "medium". It wasn't voluntary of course. When I was old enough to understand they just chose me on their own. I realized the truth behind "God" was some mysterious charm from ancient times so honestly everything just seemed so stupid to me. I kept thinking about being released from that worthless role and becoming free.
  30.
  31. Around that time weird things started happening in the village. For unknown reasons people started falling into a coma one after the other. I searched around and realized "God" had started running rampant, passing through the ley lines and absorbing our vitality. I insisted on sealing it but the elders wouldn't approve of it and even started talking about offering a sacrifice. To be fair though that charm had a terrible power so sealing it was impossible.
  32.
  33. That was when the church's knights arrived. When I talked to them I realized "God" was a kind of Artifact. Knowing it wasn't something absolute I made a bold move. I destroyed that blue lithograph of a "God" by throwing it off of a cliff. Now the village will be released from the ancient curse and I can be free. That was all I could think of. However "God"'s resistance was tremendous. It robbed me of my power to the core. The knights couldn't get there in time and my life was fading away. In that moment that "sign" appeared on my chest. My Stigma seized all of that "God's" power instead. "God" transformed into an old lithograph and broke down into pieces. And so I obtained my freedom and was happily exiled from the village since everyone considered me a great sinner who killed the "God" they revered.
  34.
  35. L: This is....
  36. L: .......
  37. W: Hehe, quite an absurd story huh? Maybe it's difficult for a modern kid raised in the city to believe it.
  38. L: No. When I see your powers I can tell this is all real. And I mean we've got Zeit, a being from the legend standing in front of us
  39. W: Haha true that. Well that happened and I was invited by the knights so I made my way to the holy nation of Alteria. There, I was accepted into the Dominions, Stigma bearers of which only 12 exist. That's when I got to know Abbas too.
  40. L: I see. So you haven't gone back to your hometown at all? Or met with you family...
  41. W: Well obviously. I was the one who crushed the foundation of that village to pieces. I was completely absorbed in getting my freedom and didn't think of what would happen afterwards. So this is my punishment. As is being hated by my family.
  42. L: .......
  43. W: I've heard that after that the church has been looking after the village and taking care of them. "God"'s curse should be finally a thing of the past now. I think I'll go back sometime, once the heat dies down. So don't worry about it that much.
  44. L: Wazy...
  45. L: Once you settle this incident you'll leave Crossbell won't you?
  46. W: Yeah, That is my mission as a knight.
  47. W: What is it? Are you already feeling lonely?
  48. L: Of course I am.
  49. W: Eh?
  50. L: I'm sure despite what happened with Wald things can return to normal. Everyone in the Testaments is in Crossbell too. And even though you had your motives you are our friend. So come visit any time. Crossbell should be like your second home by now.
  51. W: ......
  52. W: Pfft...
  53. W: HAHAHAHA
  54. L: I get how lame I sound. But I'm 100% serious.
  55. W: I know. No matter how hard I try you always manage to throw me off.
  56. W: Once I start feeling homesick I'll definitely visit. And not as a replacement for my hometown or anything. But because for better or worse I just can't cut off my ties with you guys now.
