  1. Inky's Pegasus Overhaul
  2. *Maneuver Lists Are WIP*
  3. This autism display intends to move pegasi away from the concept of spells and more into the realm of physical abilities that become instinctual with practice.
  4.
  5. Existing Perk Modifications
  6. -Grasp the Sky-
  7. Becomes
  8. -Weather Training-
  9. Prerequisite: Cloudwalking
  10. Having mastered the use of their wings, the pegasus begins to understand their natural abilities. Basic weather manipulation is now possible, which allows the pegasus minor control over the wind and clouds. With this perk, one can push and pull clouds, drain them of water, and create small gusts of wind. Further mastery is possible, but most Equestrian Pegasi are capable of this level of control. Weather Training decreases the SN for weather maneuver checks by 5, and stacks with Weather Focus and Weather Mastery.
  11.
  12. -Acrobatic Casting-
  13. Becomes
  14. -Weather Focus-
  15. Prerequisite: Weather Training, Pegasus
  16. Some pegasi choose to further their knowledge of weather control. These ponies are often members of a weather team, or the weather industries of Cloudsdale. A pegasus with Weather Focus gains the ability to condense and disperse clouds, create larger and sustained winds, and influence lasting weather conditions like rain and snow. Weather Focus decreases the SN for weather maneuver checks by 5, and stacks with Weather Training and Weather Mastery.
  17.
  18.
  19. New Perks
  20.
  21. -Weather Mastery-
  22. Prerequisite: Weather Focus, Flight Mastery, Pegasus
  23. Typically only those who seek a career in weather get to this level, and even complex maneuvers are all in a day's work. Large scale cloud control, summoning lightning and inclement weather, and precise wind manipulation are trademarks of a master. Weather Mastery decreases the SN for weather maneuver checks by 5, and stacks with Weather Training and Weather Focus. Simple Maneuvers may now be done without initiating a check if the SN is 8 or lower.
  24.
  25. -Weapon Proficiency: Wingblades-
  26. Wingblades are small, lightweight slashing weapons that are designed to extend along the ridge of pegasi primaries. Though created with ease of use and wielder comfort in mind, these weapons are quite cumbersome to the fragile extremities. A pegasus takes a -5 penalty to any flight checks made when wingblades are equipped.
  27.
  28. New Abilities
  29. -Weather Maneuvers-
  30. Weather maneuvers are a pegasus' unique form of magic. Through their instinctual connection with the heavens, pegasus ponies can affect the wind and water in the sky. All pegasi are capable of attempting all kinds of maneuvers, even if they are nearly guaranteed to fail.
  31.
  32. Simple Maneuvers (SN 20 Untrained)
  33.
  34. -Move Clouds-
  35. Standing on clouds is an easy task once you figure it out. Moving clouds takes some effort however. They're a bit slippery, so watch out! Add 3 to the SN of the check for each size category of the cloud after Large.
  36. -Gust-
  37. The pegasus summons a blast of air. It's strong enough to knock over light or precariously balanced items, but a pony would have to be very uncoordinated and unaware to be knocked over by it.
  38. -Drench-
  39. Stomping a rain cloud, the pegasus forces the water stored inside to quickly evacuate. This is a very imprecise action, and risks destroying the cloud. Useful for cleaning and extinguishing fires.
  40. -Forecast-
  41. Pegasi often have their heads in the clouds, but it isn't a bad thing! A pegasus can use their instincts to know the weather before it actually happens, although forecasting far ahead is tougher. Add 1 to the SN of the check for each day past the first when doing a multi-day forecast. (i.e.: 26 for a 7 day forecast)
  42.
  43. Moderate Maneuvers (SN 25 Untrained)
  44.
  45. -Bust Cloud-
  46. Show that fluffy mass of water vapor who's boss! There are plenty of ways to bust a cloud: hoof, head, wing, but most pegasi understand that it's all in the mind. Add 3 to the SN of the check for each size category of the cloud after Large.
  47. -Create Cloud-
  48. Clouds are useful, so now you can make em too! Add 3 to the SN of the check for each size category of the cloud after Large. A source of moisture should be present for the maneuver to function.
  49. -Wind-
  50. The pegasus uses an innate knowledge of aerodynamics and raw wing power to create a blast of wind. (Consider merging with a pre-existing ability for combat effects?)
  51. -Cloud Control-
  52. The pegasus influences natural cloud cover toward a desired outcome, be it clear, rain, or snow. Add 5 to the SN of the check for each step away from the current condition the desired result is. (Clear, Scattered, Overcast, Brooding, Raining or Snowing, Storming)
  53.
  54. Complex Maneuvers (SN 30 Untrained)
  55.
  56. -Summon Lightning-
  57. Aww yeah! Whether you're a great firebender or good old fashioned Sith Lord, everybody loves lightning! You stomp an angry and stormy cloud and if you succeed... ZAP! Whatever's under you is much crispier. If you don't know what you're doing, or are simply unlucky however... Well, you'll be on the floor sizzling like the roast duck you are before you can even say, "I just don't know what went wrong!" (collaborate for damages)
  58. -Shape Clouds-
  59. Through incredible control of the elements, the pegasus can force a cloud into specific shapes. This can be used for many purposes, from artistry to shelter building. Add 3 to the SN of the check for each size category of the cloud after Large. At the moment, the technique to make these fixtures permanent is unknown.
  60.
  61. ~ Things to Come ~
  62. -Add FP costs for maneuvers
  63. -Consider implementing combat maneuvers (Rain Drop's?)
