- Hajicabra
- okay, so Kanto RP was actually the first of the RPs to come up.
- Hajicabra
- one of my online friends was bored so we decided to randomly start playing out a Kanto RP
- Hajicabra
- so it actually started off normal enough. You know, bitties getting their first pokemon, plans to go out and catch ALL OF THE POKEMONS and complete the gym challenge
- Hajicabra
- innocent, right?
- Hajicabra
- there was four of us in that RP so each of us had a protag OC, so the Kanto gang has a main cast of four being Trevor, Amber, Jaden and Anna
- Hajicabra
- my current RP partner who is also responsible for ALL THE OTHER RPS to come up tonight was one of the players and she said she wanted to do Hoenn which was months after the Kanto RP had died and it was just the two of us left
- Hajicabra
- playing out Hoenn made us miss Kanto
- Hajicabra
- .... and then... PLOTTINGS were explored
- Ƒσŕȶũɳα
- Heeee Best plottings
- Hajicabra
- now before the original Kanto RP was dropped (and we did get to ask the other two original players if it'd be alright for us to reboot the RP and play Amber and Anna who were their OCs and they said sure) a few very minor things had come up
- Hajicabra
- such as we had discussed Bill's machine actually being a major plot in the overall RP
- Hajicabra
- so we got Pokefusions 8D;;
- Hajicabra
- basically how this came up was that machine we have to use to fix him when we find him as a Clefairy is later stolen by Team Rocket
- Hajicabra
- there's a lot of backstory about how Bill is actually connected to Team Rocket in the first place, but I won't get into that
- Hajicabra
- the thing is though, he was working on a new transporter that could actually move pokemon without them having to be in the pokeball. Which would be great to have in cases like rescuing wild pokemon since otherwise you'd have to do like what we do in the real world sometimes like give them an air lift or carrying them all the way to the nearest center (which we do see this come up in the anime at least twice that I know of where they have an abulance if I remember rightly?)
- Hajicabra
- but that's just one example. Obviously Team Rocket would want something like that as a means to transport large numbers of pokemon undetected back to the warehouse
- Hajicabra
- what they didn't realize when they stole it though is that while it was perfectly functioning, as we know from the game, it had a really weird "quirk" to it rather than doing what it was meant to do
- Hajicabra
- Rockets found out about this the hard way, but being the quirky bastards they are, decided they could actually still use this to their advantage
- Hajicabra
- mostly like spy work and infultration also turns out that while you are a pokemon, you can understand pokemon so sometimes it really was as simple as convincing naive things to come with them OTL
- Ƒσŕȶũɳα
- Sob oh dear
- Hajicabra
- also you can do really neat things that normally pokemon can't do or wouldn't think to do because you'd have to train them to do that. BUT with a "human driver" it turns out you can just do it yourself
- Hajicabra
- much sobbing was had |D;
- Hajicabra
- and since they had the machine, they also found they can EASILY change back and forth between forms
- Hajicabra
- so its not like "for the good of team you must sacrifice everything" it really was like go on mission come home and go back to your normal human life.
- Hajicabra
- damn shapeshifters XP
- Ƒσŕȶũɳα
- Soooob
- Hajicabra
- why you sob now? XD
- Ƒσŕȶũɳα
- All the sobs
- Ƒσŕȶũɳα
- Poor Pokemonz
- Hajicabra
- yeeeaaah which is what leads to the heartache and TEH HORROR aspect of all this |D;;;
- Ƒσŕȶũɳα
- So much sobbing
- Hajicabra
- always
- Hajicabra
- ANYWAY um... yeah
- Hajicabra
- very much reason to feel bad for the pokemon in all this
- Hajicabra
- because as I'm sure you already figured out, the way this works isn't exactly the person turned into a pokemon, they actually did kind of mentally fuse with their chosen partner
- Hajicabra
- if you enter the machine with your full team it will automatically merge you with whoever is your closest partner (thank goodness for small blessings?)
- Hajicabra
- but both sides are still in there
- Hajicabra
- its just that due to the trainer-mon relationship, for the most part your pokemon partner will allow the trainer to be the one in control. The trainer just has to think of most of these things, how to move, how to attack, where to go, depending on the relationship, the trainer might as well be the mon because of how in sync they are
- Ƒσŕȶũɳα
- /nod
- Hajicabra
- but, that's hoping you are close with your partner. Though WHY you would want to do this with a pokemon you've never really worked with kind of stupid and very risky. But... these are Rockets, being "close" doesn't always mean you have a great relationship. Just that you know how to work with your partner and chances are if the mon isn't as bad as you are, its likely scared of you and will still listen
- Hajicabra
- there is one major thing though to all this that takes priority over all else though. DON'T. GET. CAUGHT.
- Hajicabra
- because the way pokeballs work is more or less the pokemon are turned into a form of energy and shrunk down where they reform as a tiny version of themselves in a cozy setting that resembles home.
- Hajicabra
- but as a fusion, getting caught may as well mean death because if you get caught and turned into energy and well... basically like teleportation all your molecules were separated, moved through energy field and then reformed somewhere else, as a fusion this process makes it pretty much impossible to ever separate the two sides ever again cause you're just too mixed up now >.>;
- Hajicabra
- so once you get caught, you might want to get things sorted out with your partner cause you're gonna be hanging out for a long while
- Ƒσŕȶũɳα
- Sob
- Hajicabra
- which in our group, this mostly all comes to light because of "Tino"
- Hajicabra
- Comet Valentino is one such Rocket grunt who was posing as a Ninetales while exploring the Pokemon Mansion on Cinnabar Island for some clues about what exactly happened there when our group came across him and got captured by Amber
- Ƒσŕȶũɳα
- Would it be less dangerous for caught Pokemon? Since Pokeballs don't really work on caught 'mons unless they're designed to (by anime law anyway).
- Hajicabra
- (and to answer that, it only works for so long because there's a safety on pokeballs where if something has happened to the trainer and not handed off to someone else's keeping, they will auto-release. This is not a perfect system as it may be expected whatever happened to the trainer may still be an issue upon release such as drowning for instance. Fortunately most of the grunts have a pool system where pokemon are being swapped around all the time depending on the mission. Unfortunately this is also why most grunts only have a few, usually common types, that are fairly low level. Stronger mons, such as in Tino's case, actually belonged to him. Its still up for debate as we haven't gotten that far, but currently the thought is that fusion mons get released after fusion because it automatically registers that the trainer is just GONE. But that's also because again, if you go inside the pokeball the energy of getting shrunk down and everything would probably seal you either way.)
- Ƒσŕȶũɳα
- ...oh dear
- Hajicabra
- Anyway, Amber caught him because OMG WILD NINETALES YOU LIKE NEVER SEE THOSE because it means like the "kitsune family lore" here the Vulpix is either old enough to have evolved naturally or the Ninetales stumbled across a natural fire stone
- Hajicabra
- ... only she would be dumb enough to try to catch one because Tino knows that most people aren't going to mess with a Ninetales because they're scared of getting cursed or something
- Ƒσŕȶũɳα
- XD
- Hajicabra
- ... as for the Rockets, during the course of Kanto adventures here, the whole story takes place over the course of three years
- Hajicabra
- with the passing of time, new methods and an air of brazeness comes up >.>;;;
- Hajicabra
- which is actually part of what leads to Team Rocket's downfall in the RP
- Hajicabra
- because as discussed in the OP of this plurk, its hard to believe that the whole thing fell apart because Giovanni threw a hissy fit at losing to a ten year old XD
- Hajicabra
- now since in the original Kanto RP we discussed that considering the group's different attitudes and everything it was likely that Jaden is in the role of the MC while Amber was in the role of Rival we didn't
- Hajicabra
- think much of events in the long run. But then with the reboot when we have (for the most part) all four kids are traveling together, certain Rival events have been replaced with.... someone else
- Hajicabra
- Gary/Blue is off studying in Kalos /shot
- Hajicabra
- but instead we keep having run ins with a "mysterious cloaked figure" that turns out rather late in game is actually Mewtwo while he's still with Team Rocket
- Hajicabra
- not that the kids ever really notice its not human, he's humanoid, does actually "talk" on occasion, and usually keeps most of himself hidden while out on mission. Really with the armor, the kids are more likely to assume robot before pokemon
- Hajicabra
- anyway though, as time passes Team Rocket evolves to the next level of dickery as far as stealing pokemon from trainers goes. They eventually figure a way to make a portable version of the machine which serves the dual purpose of grunts not having to stay out of sight all the way back to base and instead being able to change between forms out there in the field. Also means we can use the machine on trainers we meet on the road. Beat them up, use the device, now you have one super intelligent pokemon you can actually catch and it'll be yours forever, AND potentially five free normal pokemons you can do whatever with
- Hajicabra
- they are smart though in choosing victims though. Obviously too many disappearances would attract trouble. But travelers from other regions, certain kids in the middle of nowhere, potential league hopefuls who haven't been expected at home for MONTHS now, its all about figuring out your opponent ahead of time
- Hajicabra
- the police aren't much help if at all, most of them are owned by Team Rocket, or Giovanni, or both by this point. Jaden finds that out the hard way when it comes up his dad, a cop, is actually in league with them and all that
- Ƒσŕȶũɳα
- Oh dear sob
- Hajicabra
- problem with the portable device though, once the pressure finally explodes is when Mewtwo decides to make his break for it
- Hajicabra
- going out Orre style, massive explosions, confusion, takes one of the devices for himself and destroys the others also destroying the original machine in the process.
- Hajicabra
- he's been raised these past... I think we decided 8 years by this point in the timeline, to be both pokemon and trainer. He's a servant to Giovanni, yes, but he's also been a team member this whole time too
- Hajicabra
- he has some serious identity issues
- Ƒσŕȶũɳα
- Soooob
- Ƒσŕȶũɳα
- Poor guy
- Hajicabra
- and he does seek to get his revenge but also as he is a crazy fucker, he does love him some cruel irony
- Hajicabra
- and quite frequently uses the device against the Rockets, which sadly is how Jaden found out about his dad was when the guy showed up as an Arcanine actually meaning to talk to Tino about what happened.
- Hajicabra
- Didn't realize the guy was traveling with his kid |D;;
- Ƒσŕȶũɳα
- Oh dear
- Hajicabra
- Jaden also has quite a few issues which mostly come up during Unova stuffs OTL
- Hajicabra
- but anyway, Mewtwo has been seeking revenge, but he's also been doing a bit of soul searching as well. He was meant to be the strongest and he has no doubt about his own power, but he does kind of want to prove himself as a trainer as well. Because he is the best. Ever. Except against Amber and its been pissing him off for a while now
- Hajicabra
- he has figured that the pokefusions are of the "superior breed" even if abominations like himself so quite often during his travels if he's beaten someone he's found particularly good, he does still have the device with him to make them a part of his team
- Hajicabra
- the kids don't know about all this really though as after saving Saffron and the Silph building and all that, it seemed Team Rocket did go quiet for a while
- Ƒσŕȶũɳα
- ...oh dear. Bad Mewtwo.
- Hajicabra
- that's good, it gives us some time to breath and figure out what we're doing next.
- Hajicabra
- So there's some downtime RP wise as well with the kids and sort of spooky hintings to what else is going on in the "what you didn't see in the game...." timeline
- Hajicabra
- yes, bad bad Mewtwo
- Hajicabra
- he does get what he has coming though |D;;
- Hajicabra
- The kids finally find out about all this from Giovanni when they went to the Viridian Gym and found.... poketrainers. All poketrainers. This is the weirdest quirk to a gym we've ever seen what is this even?
- Hajicabra
- ... and then we find Giovanni is no exception as he's currently the Persian |D;
- Hajicabra
- Amber does threaten to catch him just because YOU ASSHOLE but after hearing from him what's actually been going on, he does tell them that Mewtwo's been the one behind all the disappearances lately.
- Hajicabra
- Team Rocket is on its last legs as it is, and really he knows that he could never face his still human companions until he finds a way to fix himself and the others. But until then has to go into hiding so not to be caught. Do not think this is over, little ones, he has plans to come back someday but until then consider this our farewell
- Hajicabra
- Fine, but what do about Mewtwo if this thing they don't even know what it looks like is really that powerful?
- Hajicabra
- they finally do get to find out about him when they get to the League and Mewtwo is rather gloating about the fact that he's been named the most powerful trainer ever. And actually does have a fair fight in the championship match against Amber because ALL BUT YOU >/
- Hajicabra
- and when he loses he honestly has no idea what to make of this because HOW?!?!
- Hajicabra
- and ended up fleeing back to his base at Cerulean Cave where the group ends up chasing him. And now it is ON because this time he's fighting the gang personally. And he's a lot stronger on his own than his team was because lol strongest pokemon ever (we thought /shot) and they actually are losing even as the chaos is going on because four against one
- Ƒσŕȶũɳα
- Oh dear, sob.
- Hajicabra
- anyway, once they have Metwo losing his ground though because this is NOT a fair fight by any means he got mad enough to try to use the device on Amber because on some creepoid level HE WANTS HER
- Hajicabra
- .... And Trevor being the one to get the Master Ball from Silph (because no one trusts Amber with it, she'd probably use it on like Moltres or something which um... balance of nature, girl D8 ) thought to do the only thing he could think of which is throw it in hopes it actually works because honestly after all they've been through by now they still aren't sure if this thing is counted as a pokemon or not. Not to mention Mewtwo being a psychic could potentially just catch it in midair and throw it aside.
- Hajicabra
- but instead, as he was in the middle of this and has no idea what that ball is, he suddenly turned to use the device on Trevor to try to stop him altogether.
- Hajicabra
- You can probably guess what happened oddly enough
- Hajicabra
- Trevor threw the ball before getting hit, the master ball caught Mewtwo. At first the group was more worried about Trevor in picking up his pokeballs wondering which one he'd gone into but when Mewtwo seemed
- Hajicabra
- to break out of the Master Ball --causing quite a lot of "OH SHIIII- O.O" from the other three since it was supposed to never fail--, they found that something was holding the creep back ....which turned out to be Trevor trying telling them to run for it |D;;
- Ƒσŕȶũɳα
- ...oh lord
- Hajicabra
- I told you my stories get strange XD;;
- Hajicabra
- fortunately and unfortunately when Mewtwo got caught the things he had on him such as the device didn't get caught with him but instead dropped where he'd been standing.... and tumbled off into the water
- Ƒσŕȶũɳα
- Which I'm guessing it didn't take kindly to
- Hajicabra
- and since the gang had no idea what to do or what to even think of what the hell just happened, they decided they had no choice but to run for it leaving the newly fused pair to duke it out among themselves
- Hajicabra
- no not at all, in fact Mewtwo might be all the more determined to KILL YOU ALL at this point for capture, loss of revenge device and the sudden mindfuckery as he SHOULD be able to crush you mentally you little welp. But somehow Trevor is holding him back and pissing him off all the more
- Ƒσŕȶũɳα
- Sob
- Hajicabra
- seriously guys, the rest of you should run. Like... not just out of the cave, maybe to the next country if possible |D;;
- Hajicabra
- so much sob OTL
- Hajicabra
- because the fusion thing becomes like... a thing until the end of Johto stuffs really. Neither Trevor or Mewtwo ever really wins so they have to come to some sort of compromise because they're kind of stuck dealing with each other and after quite a few months Trevor does eventually get to go home to Pallet and try to convince everyone he's got it under control
- Ƒσŕȶũɳα
- Spoilers, he doesn't really?
- Hajicabra
- ... despite obvious split personality issues going on for the next three years and rare bouts of utter destruction feels XD
- Ƒσŕȶũɳα
- Didn't think so XD
- Hajicabra
- yeah pretty much. The two are still there in a sometimes tense, sometimes Yugi/Yami like relationship with Mewtwo being condescending mentor of sorts but they do somewhat work things out to be a functional entity its just anything else that things get screwy because WHICH ONE AM I DEALING WITH RIGHT NOW I DON'T WANT TO PISS OFF THE GODMODE HERE
- Hajicabra
- but yes, I will stop here because egads its late
