  1. THE PLOT
  2.
  3. Xochi is the main fertility bitch in Urobos.
  4. Giver of life and lover of the world. She sees people one day and them using the land, the air, and the water. So to protect these things she animates the air, the water, and the land, and life on the land to guard these realms
  5. These are the spirits.
  6. As life goes on, Xochi sees that the people do not fear her or the guardians. But they fear the meteors that strike the region. Since Xochi cannot destroy, she wishes for something to balance her, and waits for a counterbalance to her life giving ways to arrive.
  7. One day a special meteorite, formed from the collision of two stars, crashes to the earth.
  8. The people arrive there first, finding much gold and crafting it into wondrous idols.
  9. Xochi arrives and sees her opportunity for her equal and opposite. She animates the meteorite into a massive serpentine being.
  10. However, this being of two suns, the creation has special abilities (and a space form). Quetzar is born.
  11. It can summon space itself as Xochi's abilities triggered innate cosmic powers within the sun-meteorite.
  12. (By space itself I mean asteroids and shit)
  13. However, unbeknownst to Xochi, she also unknowingly gave life to a golden idol that day. And thus, Xotec was born.
  14. The small pokemon quickly discovered it had a knack for bringing luck and fortune to those it interacted with.
  15. As Xochi and Quetzar played good cop bad cop in Urobos, maintaining the cycle of life and death, Xochi quickly learned of Xotec and moved to learn more about him.
  16. Xochi quickly learned that Urobeñans would go to great lengths for Xotec's power.
  17. Wars broke out between tribes over Xotec.
  18. Xochi was shocked by this and did not know what to do. However, Quetzar had been aware of the happenings as well.
  19. Quetzar determined that this creation was to be destroyed and the humans of Urobos exterminated for abusing nature’s gifts.
  20. For Xochi, this was unacceptable. But Quetzar could not be swayed. Calling upon its cosmic abilities, rocks from space began to rain down upon the region, igniting fires and hurting pokemon and people alike. Xochi turned to her guardians to counter Quetzar, but they could only contain the damage that was being done. Quetzar continued its apocalyptic rampage throughout the region.
  21. The people of Urobos were afraid. They felt powerless to fight Quetzar. Then one day, a group of brave young adults built a metal statue to scare Quetzar away. They stood against the mighty dragon with courage in their step.
  22. So motivated by these children’s bravery, Xochi brought life to their creation.
  23. And Eronze was born.
  24. Eronze followed the will of the people. It was meant to serve them and protect them. And the Urobeñans rallied around these kids and their golem. The region rallied to defeat Quetzar and the lands were saved.
  25. Quetzar was made dormant and locked away to save the region. However Xochi was wise. She saw how the region had divided itself over Xotec. So she locked Xotec away with Quetzar so that if the greed of man ever became so great that Xotec was acquired, rather than see man destroy the land and each other in war, Quetzar would be awakened and the region plunged into apocalypse. The three spirits locked the two away using their cores and the ruins' locations were made forgotten.
  26. The first few generations following the events honored Xochi and Eronze every year. But people still feared the return of Quetzar. A group of people tried to recreate Eronze with more modern technology, with steam and steel and pipes.
  27. But Xochi would not relent. Life would not come to this golem. The people begged and pleaded. But still Xochi said no. Then the people demanded and forced Xochi to give this golem life. And Xochi did. But the darkness in the hearts of these people warped the life given to this golem. It was a tortured soul, aware of its mission and duty to follow the people, but also cognizant of its status. This golem was a failure.
  28. And Erion was born.
  29. The people soon forgot about Quetzar as the centuries passed.
  30. The war of ancients became myth. The golems, a symbol of ancient times. There was no need for the automatons. And so Eronze was locked away, deep in the mountains. Deep in corners few men would go.
  31. Erion too was locked away, deep in the canyons near the desert along cliff sides so narrow and difficult, few would be able to reach them.
  32. And soon they faded into antiquity.
  33. The spirits too lost followings as new faiths trickled in.
  34. The Temple of Sand was swallowed by the dunes of the southern desert.
  35. The Temple of Vines disappeared into the overgrowth in the vast Urobeñan jungles.
  36. The Temple of Tides, long unused, was taken to the depths.
  37. The spirits too, fell to antiquity.
  38.
  39. Fast forward to now
  40.
  41. The legend of Quetzar is long gone from people’s memories, but the lust for gold is never satiated. The legends of a gold-granting living idol have reinvigorated interest in Urobos. A young man with a taste for science discovers a coin from the ancient temple of Quetzar where Xotec (and Quetzar) reside. He tells his coworkers and contemporaries of his find, but they laugh him out of the professional community.
  42. He spends his entire life searching for the Temple of Quetzar on his own, until his health begins to fail him. He knows of the door requiring three keys to open and that ancient automatons once roamed this land.
  43. He forms a group of people to help him with his quest, people inspired by adventure, wealth, and knowledge, to find Xotec. And a new golem is commissioned, in the spirit of Urobos, to ring the people of Urobos to this cause. So bright minds from all over come together and build a golem based on the ancient golem they find deep in a cliffside cave. It is Eronze, and not Erion as they expected.
  44. Eronze awakens to the group and knows it has found a new set of masters to serve.
  45. It serves as the basis for a new, more powerful golem. Using science, this golem finds life. Xochi looks on in dismay as her own gift is no longer unique.
  46. With much fanfare and excitement, Erace is born.
  47. However, one automaton remains and that is Erion. While a group of individuals combs through the lands looking for the Temple of Xotec, expeditions are made to find Erion.
  48. (Hint, it's in the coal cave)
  49. This is where the story starts in-game
  50.
  51. From here, the villainous team finds Erion before the iron gym (back tracking for the player)
  52. Then they find out the waifu cores are the keys
  53. So they do things to draw the spirits out
  54. Mass logging, oil drilling, strip mining
  55. All to steal the cores.
  56. And then, they get to the Temple, awaken Quetzar, and try to use the golems to stop it, but it stops them this time. You step in, and beat it.
