  5. 01[04:40] <Lucyne> Psionic/Clockwork computer built by a mysterious race called the Thalssmar
  6. 01[04:41] <Lucyne> Later found out to be actually called the Illithane
  7. 01[04:42] <Lucyne> So, the Illithane themselves have called themself not the 'Eldest' but 'Youngest'
  8. 01[04:42] <Lucyne> Which is ACTUALLY because they are the ultimate human evolution, trillions of years in the future
  9. 01[04:43] <Lucyne> And at the end of time, they built a mighty machine to avoid annihilatioj and flung themselves out anf back through time
  10. 01[04:43] <Lucyne> Uh, long story

  18. 01[04:44] <Lucyne> There is this whoooole freaky story of how humans evolve later
  19. 01[04:44] <Lucyne> After they sterilize the planet and such
  20. 01[04:45] <Lucyne> Uh,
  21. 01[04:45] <Lucyne> reeeeaaalllly long story
  22. 01[04:45] <Lucyne> So anyways they find this thing
  23. 01[04:45] <Lucyne> Normally, it'd control their weak as minds and start terraforming or something
  24. 01[04:46] <Lucyne> But it was damaged, it's sentience mostly unusable
  25. 01[04:47] <Lucyne> This is important because it can still provide infos on request
  26. 01[04:47] <Lucyne> As such, the humans can use it's knowlesdge of magic and science
  27. 01[04:48] <Lucyne> And so, the city becomes a center of high technology out of time
  28. [04:48] <FeatherDuster> but then they fix it accidently activate it and everything goes to shit?
  29. 01[04:48] <Lucyne> Genetic Engineering ensuring that all inhabitants become hyper intelligent master psionics
  30. 01[04:48] <Lucyne> too predictable
  31. 01[04:49] <Lucyne> So they finally figure out how to copy the thing and make 12 more to make a psionic over net in their town
  32. 01[04:49] <Lucyne> They make their fortune by selling their magitech to other nations for anything they need
  33. 01[04:50] <Lucyne> This is why almost no one can make, say a +5 sword but they are found in dragon's hoards: They are all from this period
  34. [04:50] <FeatherDuster> huh.
  35. [04:50] <FeatherDuster> neat
  36. 01[04:50] <Lucyne> But, the humans became extremer and extremer in there experiments until they started dabbling with space and time itself
  37. 01[04:51] <Lucyne> this finally overstepped a boundary and the immortal protectors of the universe stepped in: The Fey
  38. 01[04:51] <Lucyne> [In this setting, that's what the fey are]
  39. 01[04:51] <Lucyne> they came down with a vengeance and sealed off the city, sinking it below the ground and trapping it and it's foul alien tech in their magic
  40. 01[04:52] <Lucyne> And so, it was forgotten
  41. 01[04:52] <Lucyne> Now the thing is, who is wrong here=
  42. 01[04:52] <Lucyne> The humans say, we are just using science to make the world better and better
  43. 01[04:52] <Lucyne> And the fey say they are playing with powers they cannot possibly control
  44. [04:53] <FeatherDuster> in my opinion
  45. [04:53] <FeatherDuster> neither are really wrong per say
  46. [04:53] <FeatherDuster> but
  47. 01[04:53] <Lucyne> Yep, that's how my writing goes
  48. [04:54] <FeatherDuster> humans, although they have good intentions, will ineviably destroy themsselves and others in the end. the fey are acting for the greator good

  50. 01[04:54] <Lucyne> Well, the humans argue, but we can control it, actually
  51. 01[04:55] <Lucyne> The fey are just conservative and small minded or outright jealous
  52. 01[04:55] <Lucyne> [Jealousy being typical of fey, remember]

  54. 01[04:55] <Lucyne> Also they argue: Death is no fair punishment
  55. 01[04:55] <Lucyne> They weren't warned to not do this
  56. 01[04:56] <Lucyne> They were just trying to help
  57. 01[04:56] <Lucyne> This is unjust
  58. [04:56] <FeatherDuster> >weren't warned
  59. [04:56] <FeatherDuster> >no one told me
  60. 01[04:56] <Lucyne> Yep
  61. [04:56] <FeatherDuster> But mr.customer, if you read the fine print here...
  62. 01[04:57] <Lucyne> They were just experimenting with stuff that obviously can't belong to anyone: Space
  63. 01[04:57] <Lucyne> How can space belong to the fey?
  64. 01[04:57] <Lucyne> Who gave THEM the right to decide what to do with it?
  65. [04:57] <FeatherDuster> Heh, they did themselves I assume.
  66. 01[04:58] <Lucyne> And the humans say: Unjust!
  67. 01[04:59] <Lucyne> We want the right to work with it as well!
  68. 01[04:59] <Lucyne> Or atleast, don't fucking kill us and our children for it
  69. [04:59] <FeatherDuster> I can understand if it was all for the greater good, humans are kinda like children compared to most otherworldly creatures, but it seems in this, the fey are childish as well. Even if the fey had a good reason to do it, I'd side with the humans
  70. 01[05:00] <Lucyne> That's the joke, they're all childish in the end
  71. [05:00] <FeatherDuster> Less killing, the better. A warning punishment maybe
  72. 01[05:00] <Lucyne> In the end, every war is childish

  79. 01[05:04] <Lucyne> Just imagine how that would affect the planet if say, middle age prussia had access to nukes

  81. [05:04] <FeatherDuster> how are they handling the fey?
  82. 01[05:04] <Lucyne> You mean the ones ACTUALLY in the future?
  83. [05:04] <FeatherDuster> yea
  84. [05:05] <FeatherDuster> the "aliens"

  86. 01[05:05] <Lucyne> In the distant future, humanity builds the Prometheus Device
  87. 01[05:05] <Lucyne> The ultimate in magitecj
  88. 01[05:05] <Lucyne> *magitech
  89. 01[05:06] <Lucyne> Built to trap, and KILL a god
  90. 01[05:06] <Lucyne> It fails and humanity is fucked
  91. 01[05:06] <Lucyne> BUT
  92. 01[05:06] <Lucyne> The device releases such immense world changing energies, it is shot back in time
  93. [05:06] <FeatherDuster> >kill a god
  94. 01[05:06] <Lucyne> So it is found by humans before it is invented
  95. 01[05:06] <Lucyne> And then they improve the design
  96. 01[05:06] <Lucyne> It fails
  97. 01[05:07] <Lucyne> But then the improved version is shot back in time
  98. 01[05:07] <Lucyne> And so on and so on
  99. 01[05:07] <Lucyne> Until one timeline, they get it right
  100. 01[05:07] <Lucyne> And pull all of the gods from the heavens and kill them
  101. 01[05:07] <Lucyne> Using their decomposing corpses as batteries
  102. 01[05:07] <Lucyne> Yes, that's how messed up this evolution of humans becomes
  103. [05:07] <FeatherDuster> dayum
  104. 01[05:08] <Lucyne> Which is actually due to timetraveler meddling from out of the universe
  105. [05:08] <FeatherDuster> couldn't they just
  106. [05:08] <FeatherDuster> Don't worship it and forget the god, and soon it's power would diminish and fade away? :D

  110. 01[05:08] <Lucyne> God's power is not related to their worshippers
  111. 01[05:09] <Lucyne> So yea, then the universe is THEIRS
  112. 01[05:09] <Lucyne> They build huge machines the size of planets to do the work gods normally do
  113. 01[05:09] <Lucyne> Huge soul nets that catch dying souls and clone new bodies for them to live in
  114. 01[05:10] <Lucyne> Giant nexi that redirect cosmic flows of arcane energy
  115. [05:10] <FeatherDuster> oh shit thats cool
  116. 01[05:10] <Lucyne> Yea, shit is weird
