  1. Leaving the house house and waving goodbye to those two he invited over he'd simply turn his head to see his uncle resting in a field of flowers. "What is he doing out here. I hope I didn't miss my training" he'd say to himself before taking his first few steps off the pourch. Passing a few trees the shade would momentarily hide and reveal him from the changes of his scenery as he moved through the shadows of the trees before finally making it to the open field which was adorn by sunlight.
  2.
  3. Initially he'd never seen his uncle's face, neither did he ever get his name but his eyes were rich with mana as well as his aura seemed abit uncomposed as usual. Perhaps he was training alone? If that may be the case the he came at just the right time to greet him. Making his way to his uncle he'd walk around to face him while he rested before looking up to him to speak. "Am I late? I'm sorry someone was in need of help when I left home early and I didn't wind up getting back until later."
  4. (Icarus Saiken)
  5.
  6. His breaths would be heavy as sweat dripped from his face. It was an exciting fight, exciting indeed. Not only did he surprise himself by winning without using any weapons, but he noticed something that was a bit strange during his fight. His arm actually grew in size after he forced an immense amount of mana into it. How strange, from trying to execute an extreme power smash he accidentally made his arm grow in size and strength... interesting.
  7.
  8. Just as he was thinking about it he would hear his nephew; Icarus, speaking to him. Something about being late, late for what... did he expect training so soon? They haven't even spoke on a regime for him but either way, Katai would be more than happy to start his training today, and possibly try and figure out how exactly he made his arm grow. But for now, a warm greeting would be made.
  9.
  10. "Ah Icarus, hello there... and no you are not late, just on time i suppose." He would say whilst wiping the sweat from his brow before giving his nephew a warm smile.
  11. (Katai)
  12.
  13. There were a few questions he wanted to ask but more importantly he didn't seem to be short in time of anything vital. Having rushed to the fields he'd stand ready for anything. After doing his daily independent study though it was smaller than usual being that he had a run in with a few people in the city so suddenly he did gain more knowledge about the manifestation of mana known as Energy Magic. Simply hearing that he was right on time gave him great relief, having a conversation with his mother earlier today he noticed that she was well aware of her what appeared to be step brother's ability to manipulate mana into the form of energy which the young boy sought to learn.
  14.
  15. Though he did tell her that he recently came to visit the city of Danarium, she still hadn't gone to look for him even though she happened to be looking for him. This being none of his business he'd simply see it as maybe what she had to say to him could wait which was why she didn't make an appearance yet. Either way whatever the benefit of their conversation or meeting it would soon come if destiny ties itself in that manner. As of now he was present and ready to begin learning as much as he could using the real deal.
  16.
  17. "I missed you earlier today, by the time I came back you were already gone and I was afraid something must've came up that you'd have to leave." His worrisome face was basically apologizing for over reacting. "But i'm overall ready to learn."
  18. (Icarus Saiken)
  19.
  20. A warm smile would be planted on the young Drakanites face as he looked towards Icarus, seeing how he was a bit worried. "No need to worry young one, we shall start with a little meditation alright... I want you to center yourself, calming your emotions and focus yourself. Concentrate on easing your mind in order to slip away from the physical world... now, no more words focus on what I have told you, this... is only the beginning" he stated before slowly levitating into the air so that he may hover with his legs crossed as he meditates.
  21.
  22. What he said was true, his meditation would only be the beginning of his training, in order for his will power to grow. But, it was another way for him to have a little more time to speak with Kyoshiro on what just happened... the fact that his arm actually grew in size.
  23.
  24. "Kyo, I know for a fact you saw that but... what could that possibly have been... i've never done that before." Katai would say to Kyoshiro during the beginning of his meditation, in which Kyoshiro would respond with, "hmm, if I had to guess I'd say it was the basics of Giant form... extremely basic. Some people can grow meters tall, multiple meters tall in fact increasing their strength and all around durability from how large they grow. Actually... doesn't Icarus' father use that form?" Kyoshiro would state as Katai's meditation grows stronger.
  25.
  26. "Well, I've never seen him use it or anything but... how would you possibly know that?" Katai responded as his eyes still shined bright, meditating with his eyes open in order for him to stay on guard at all times. "Well, that one day in Tilandre when you two were talking about the past spars you had. He said something along the lines of 'Boy I can be as tall as that building if I wanted' ...well if I am remembering correctly." Kyoshiro added, with an impression of the way Issei speaks.
  27.
  28. "I see... Giant form... well, it looks like i have something else to train for..." He would say in his head, responding to Kyoshiro before slowly leaving his own meditation in order to help Icarus with his. The young drakanite would let his feet slowly hit the ground before walking next to Icarus and sitting net to him whilst speaking. "Alright, just close your eyes and focus, think of happy thoughts... your spiritual connection will come in good time, just focus on centering yourself as i said before. Slow your breathing and calm your heart rate... become one with the world around you in order to step into another... focus."
  29. (Katai)
  30.
  31. With a determined look in the young boy's eyes he'd simply nod to the first instruction before commencing immediate formation upon the flower bed that adorn the surface. Lowering his body closer the ground he'd then sit upon the surface to then posture himself in lotus formation. Slowly closing his eyes he'd knowledgably begin to start casting aside all distractions from his senses so that they may focus and heighten to his surroundings. Inhaling deeply initiationly he'd take in and grasp a great deal of fresh air and life through the nose, smelling the scent of fresh dewed flowers swayed by graceful winds that carried the humid texture of salt water before exhaling; releasing all tension and negative energy blocking his perceptive entity.
  32.
  33. In the initiational moments of his meditation everything seemed to grow silent, though there was the breeze of the wind roaring in his ears, the sound of crashing water against a rocky shore emitting a sound of rushing water, and the surrounding birds that sung songs of pure freedom as they ruffled the leaves in the trees until those exact sounds began to become music to the boy's ears. Within the busy city of Danarium it's extremely hard to communicate with the ambience of nature like he'd be doing now and it would suddenly begin to spark why his parents moved on this isolated land with all this wild life, greenery, and water. It was so they could be closer to nature.
  34.
  35. The words of the earth spoke of many things, it was almost like these were the whispers of the creator Kraus himself. All around him he began to slowly feel, even if he couldn't see - the mana of life. The flow as to which all things were created by and manifested from. After a few more hours the boy would have been completely drawn to this new world, perhaps this may not be the world that his uncle lived in, but it was along the pathway of finding this one. The wisdom of the land enveloped his spirit, he saw the love the world had for its children. The air to breathe life into us, the water to clense us of daily transgression, with his eyes closed he also began to understand and value the nature of light, and the debt and beauty of having nothing, complete darkness.
  36.
  37. It wasn't that energy itself was the latter of all elements to learn, but it was the hardest to master because all elements manifest from what this particular magic was made up of. Pure, Genuine, Natural Mana.
  38. (Icarus Saiken)
  39.
  40. At least twenty minutes would go by as Katai sat there, letting young Icarus meditate for the time being. The young Drakanite would then raise to his feet before turning to tap Icarus' shoulder twice, getting his attention before speaking. "Well done, you managed to keep calm and stay quiet the entire time. You are still pretty young so do not expect to have any amazing jumps in talent during your starting years. You have plenty of years in front of you... you'll just need to find out where that road leads you." With that being said a ball of pure mana would appear in Katai's hands, conjuring it so that he may focus it into its purest form, energy.
  41.
  42. "This will be part of your mana control, well, the physical half at least. Your meditations will strengthen your will power and ability to conjure more mana, whilst this physical training will help you use it, and to properly control it in large amounts. It isn't going to be easy and im pretty sure you will get hurt from this, but nothing in life is easy.. remember that, no ready yourself." After speaking he would give the child enough time to ready himself for what was to come.
  43.
  44. "Now, I am going to try and attack you with multiple energy bursts alright, you can either try and catch them in order to redirect them back at me, which means i will have to do the same. If you fail to redirect the energy, then "BANG!' plenty of pain, along with the force knocking you back. This way you can get the hang of using energy magic before you even learn how to conjure it, this should make the learning process go even quicker. Now, I'll only throw three for your first attempt, are you ready?" The young drakanite would state as his hands now emanated the same blue tint as his eye.
  45. (Katai)
  46.
  47. As the boy consciousness drifted into a place of tranquility everything around him, including himself began to become at peace. Terms of anxiety, stress, difficult emotions that were hard to deal with were slowly fading away and becoming apart of the bigger scheme of things. Every failure up until now, every mistake ever made was becoming a product of conviction to help strengthen his spirit. He was finally accepting and embracing his destiny, but this alone is only the first step to conquering both himself and his ego.
  48.
  49. Though his mind was now focused upon many things it didn't seem that it overwhelmed him but rather he was able to control his train of thought. Then in a sudden moment he felt a gentle hand tap his shoulder which caused him to gently open his eyes. With his body spirit and mind still at peace he'd come back to and with the new found reality before the man began to speak. Attentive, Ikki would listen to his words with understanding and not simply due to instruction. After he'd finish he'd open both palms before accumulating mana into one holding in either hand creating mana in its most purest and concentrated form Energy.
  50.
  51. Once this was summoned he began to explain the next course of action; training the vessel wielding the energy. Rising from the surface his sunfire eyes would deem to be slightly different from when they first started. Instead of a fierce flame that willowed with determination, it would seem like the flame had become more stable, calm, obedient and in-influenced by emotion. Stancing himself to prepare for the next lesson the boy would ready himself awaiting to understand proper posture through his failures and the instructions as to how to conquer this portion of training.
  52.
  53. With a rather calming aura about him he'd simply give a nod, focusing on multiple possible things he can do to succeed rather than doubt. If he happened to make a mistake it would only lower the methods down to one that is viable to work. This was the way he worked. No time to look behind, only ahead.
  54. (Icarus Saiken)
  55.
  56. Now that Icarus has taken his stance, Katai would reel his arm back; forcing a burst of energy at his nephew fairly quick just before spinning in a three hundred and sixty degree motion, shooting another burst of energy at him before waiting a few seconds so he could charge up one last energy burst. This one would be a little bit stronger than the last two, so if it landed he would for sure feel its force.
  57.
  58. "Keep your focus Icarus, now send them back if you can." He stated as he looked to his own hands, still contemplating about giant form. It was interesting to say the least, and he had actually accomplished a very basic version of it on accident. He wanted to work on this new ability in hopes of one day mastering it. But for now he needed to focus on training his nephew and not worry about his own interests... unless he could do both...
  59.
  60. "Kyo, think of ways I could possibly further this, giant form technique while I focus on training Icarus alright." Thats it, using two brains at once, it wasn't a bad idea. "Alright Katai, but... try and go easy on the child, you threw that last one a little hard dont you think?" Kyoshiro would respond just as Katai readied himself to redirect the energy if Icarus was able to send them back his way.
  61.
  62. "Kyo, you and I both know... nothing you want in life comes easy."
  63. (Katai)
  64.
  65. An incredible amount of mana would begin to concentrate in his uncle's palm before highlighting his hand in bright azure energy that began to manifest into existence. Cocking his arm back firmly he'd surge his entire arm into the direction of little Icarus sending the first burst of energy before his entire body began to rotate off the strength of his first burst leading into a continuous stream of shots. Notably on his third rotation he appeared to add a bit more force and mana to the 3rd and final burst of energy that deemed to follow suit of the direction he released it in.
  66.
  67. Flaring the winds almost like flames the balls of energy would blaze in an azure manifestation of mana simply breaking through the currents of wind at a great speed. Suddenly he could hear his uncle giving advice during the moments of them closing the distance Icarus would simply prepare and embrace the destiny of the energy sent towards him and atmost he'd try to do everything he could to stop them completely or if possible guide the mana itself back to the user.
  68.
  69. The time was upon him, the first burst of energy had to be by calculation .40 seconds behind the second one, lifting his hand firmly and grasping the mana derived from his very being he'd attempt to create a mana based cushion to glove the flaring burst of energy but because he lacked prior knowledge of the density of the energy itself he failed to redirect let alone grasp it. BOOM! the force would push his firm stance back as his hand scarred by the pressure of the force. The pain clearly there but not enough to deteriate the boy's concentration. There was another coming and he had to quickly adjust his perception of energy based on the first blow. This was how swift the boy's mind worked, this was the will of his conviction. Placing two hands up instead of one he'd try to configure a way to coax both hands into a cupping formation to catch and redirect the second one but to no avail. His technique bore not connection to the mana itself he had to find another way to connect to the energy itself. BOOM! The second burst didn't falter his position like the last one did but it did damage his hands, not as much because he divided the pain between both his hands. Then before the last one was on its way he saw a complete difference in it between the others almost just before he threw it. Knowing that this one was heavier than the last two he'd of course haven't given up on trying to redirect the energy but he also wanted to make sure that his body would still be intact for further training. Thus preparing for both he'd sum up a greater amount of mana just for the burst before; CRASH!!!! The final burst broke through his guard, his eyes narrowed in understandment as the blast hit him directly in the chest lifting the boy completely off the surface.
  70.
  71. Skidding only slightly upon the surface the boy's conviction wouldn't allow him to worry about the pain of the blow. He was too determined to learn energy to waste any time on repairing his body. Of course if it was enough damage to put him in harm's way he'd stop but he knew it was all a matter of mental fortitude. Rising from the surface without saying one word about his failures he'd simply walk back with the same calm expression. "...."
  72.
  73. All the boy did was restance himself and ready himself, displaying the power of his determination.. His will.. If he were to stop now it would completely make a mockery of his determination to learn
  74. (Icarus Saiken)
  75.
  76. Katai would simply watch as the bursts of energy connected with Icarus one by one sending him back a bit with his feet kicking up dirt. Mana would continue to flow into the palms of his hands as he stood there, waiting for the young child to retake his stance. A slight nod would be had before Katai started moving his hands rapidly, sending five energy bursts at the young trainee. "Energy burst barrage!" he shouted as the five orbs of energy shot towards Icarus.
  77.
  78. As the attacks were sent flying Icarus' way, Kyoshiro would speak up. "Katai... did you just throw multiple energy bursts at that boy and shout a ridiculous name... you just made that up on the spot didn't you." A smile would appear on Katai's face as he heard his great grandfathers words. "Yeah, im just having a little fun with it... and hey, aren't you supposed to be giving e ideas on how to possibly train for this giant form?" the young Ancestral Wrath master would say as he watched the bursts of energy make their way towards Icarus.
  79.
  80. "Yes, and I have. Well, whilst your playing what seems to be a game of energy ball with your nephew... why don't you pour some of your mana into your arms. This way you can at least attempt to make them grow whilst trying to focus on redirecting the bursts of energy he sends back, if he does manage to send them back." A great plan forged by Kyoshiro indeed, it made Katai instantly respond by taking a firm stance, trying to direct his mana into his arms in order for them to grow.
  81.
  82. As soon as Katai took his stance, he would pour an immense amount of mana into his arms in hopes that they would expand in size, only to fail. He would shake his arms out a bit before trying two more times, coming a bit closer to making them expand slightly only to have them instantly return to regular size... it only looked as if he flexed a little, what a waste of mana. "Ugh, i'll just try again in a few more minutes, in the mean time, lets see if Icarus is able to stop and or redirect my energy back at me." Katai would state whilst crossing his arms.
  83. (Katai)
  84.
  85. His determined spirit wouldn't falter under the circumstance, instead it was stronger than ever. Due to him actually experiencing the value of each burst individually and have a feel for their spiritual pressure according to speed and mass he'd brace himself mentally for the concept he'd bring together to be able to redirect or stop at the most. His clothes slightly dirtied from the incoming shots he took earlier, he'd look onward with sheer concentration and focus, his determination was more so his drive than his actual urgency to conquer the task. All his energy was directed into his effort to deflect/stop the incoming balls of energy. Taking note of his uncle's illuminating palms he'd ready himself for yet another round of surged energy burst before he used either hand to send a wave of 5 burst of energy almost consecutively after one another, this time the distance and time / acceleration was alot shorter than last time.
  86.
  87. With a handle on the overall value of the energy's mass due to speed Icarus would swiftly analyze the size of the ball before swiftly coaxing his left hand in mana to reduce the impact of the first two initial burst of energy and then from there try to calculate his body movements to nearly match the third to catch that one aswell after releasing the first two. WOOSH!! The burst of energy would surge through air, breaking directly through the forces of direct wind, resisting the flow of it to propel onward before reaching the boy's overall instinctive radius. With precision his left arm would dart upward simply to oppose the first energy burst with a slap to completely stop its motion before using his right hand to do the same to the secondary, leaving both energy burst to linger the air for but a second. before falling and dispersing upon the surface This was how fast the energy was moving.
  88.
  89. The third one came in right after the second but he unfortunately his physical body wasn't entirely ready to reach it in time to deflect it and by his incompetent actions he took a directly blow to the body, but with his mind fortified he had no time to fret over the impact, if he didn't act quickly and remained focus he will take more damage than he'd need too. Swiftly switching the motion of his right hand to extend to reach the fourth incoming burst he'd put everything he had into making sure he completely stopped it but knowing his transgressions he'd surely fail to get the last one but he refused to not deflect atleast one more.
  90.
  91. BOOM! The final ball of energy would hit him cause bright blue sparks of mana to disperse upon contact. The force it self was enough to knock him back but atleast he didn't take as many blows as he did the last time
  92. (Icarus Saiken)
  93.
  94. Katai's eyes would widen a bit as he stood there watching his nephew deflect the orbs of energy he sent his way. "Oh, three out of two, not bad for the young one right Katai? Guess you were right to not take it easy on him." Kyoshiro said whilst Katai tilted his head. "Yes yes, it was quite impressive, but now for the final part." said Katai as he slowly moved his hands in a circular motion as energy began to form in his palms. They were glowing a bright blue with a slight crackle to them, this time... ten ancestral energy orbs appeared in front of him. He then took a deep breath before giving a quick "HAH!" as the ancestral energy burst forward leaving a blue trail of mana behind them.
  95.
  96. "Okay okay... I think you took this training too far, how much mana did you just put in that attack?" Kyoshiro seemed a bit worried about Katai's methods... exactly what was the young Ancestral Wrath user trying to do? "How much mana did I force into the attack? Enough, that's how much, now im going to try and focus so that I can manipulate the rest of my mana into trying to make my arms grow, so let me work." Katai responded just before taking his powerful stance again.
  97.
  98. Katai was now straining himself in order to try and grasp this ability. The ones who have mastered it were able to grow as tall as buildings, but seeing how he couldn't grow more than one arm at will... means he had a lot of work to do. He began concentrating, focusing on where he wanted to serge his mana. His area of choice, both arms, from his hands up to his shoulders. He started pulsing large amounts of mana into his 'vessels' being his arms. The began to slowly increase, pulsing as his mana did until finally reaching an amazing size, for him at least.
  99.
  100. The length of his arms were now reaching the ground along with the girth of his forearms, biceps, triceps, and shoulders maxing out at about thirty five inches around, it was a success! Now that he has finally made them grow, it was now a matter of how long he would be able to keep them that size.
  101.
  102. His breathing was now heavy as he stood there staring at the ancestral energy flying towards Icarus. If the boy was able to redirect one back his way, Katai would have to find a way to block and or counter the attack, there was no way he would be able to redirect the attack with his arms this way, it was only the beginning of a new form.
  103. (Katai)
  104.
  105. With his body in quite the beaten condition the boy didn't want to falter now, not when he'd finally start his training. He wanted to give this everything he had even if it meant losing consciousness. Pulling his body back into a firm stance he'd brace himself for yet another round of energy burst. With his breathing calmed and his mind fortified and ready for another round he'd note that he wasn't just simply throwing consecutive shots but this time he was managing a large canvas of pooling energy that will suddenly divide into 10 seperate balls of energy that would home into the same direction all at once. For the first 2 rounds it was easier to be able to deflect since they in theory traveled one after another upon short terms. But this time the time difference is so immediate that there's literally only less than a decimal gap between each burst.
  106.
  107. The energy suring towards his direction would light up his entire body as they surged towards him at a great velocity before he'd attempt to take them all on at once, digging both feet firmly into the surface to prepare for the impact. He'd simply reach out to stop atleast one of the many but as a result a sudden force seemed to be pressuring upon his body. BOOM!! The impact of 9 individual energy orbs would have hit him blasting him with almost 9 fold the amount of damage that was displayed in the last two excercises, his body would again be lifted from the ground but not only this but the force would send him flailing through the air and skidding scross the surface before he would be finally able to grasp momentum of his body; landing on his feet and riding across the surface until he came to a completely stop.
  108.
  109. SSSSS... The heat from the friction of the energy blast would still be hissing from his body as debris of mana could be seen fluttering away after dispersing from the impact back to the world. The boy's clothes would be in shambles, revealing a few holes here and there from the blows of energy that had enter his realm of battle extension. His eyes would appear to be open as he remained kneeling trying to grasp his breath but in truth his eyes were almost completely blank with conciousness. It appaered the only thing keeping him from collapsing on the surface was his determined spirit and unwavered will.
  110.
  111. In the nest of his palm after taking all that damage was one of the ten balls of energy, through the barrage he managed to grasp hold and prevent one from hitting his body. Ofc the ball of energy would slowly be dispersing back into a mana like state that faded away from his instinctive gripped fingers before he slowly began to come back feeling the weight of his training now coming down upon him. Of course his spirit was still powered by his sheer will, allow him even throught this much pain to stand up once again.
  112.
  113. Even with him slowly drifting in and out of consciousness he'd still for some odd reason try to make a stance. Maybe it was something he was doing unconsciously but at this point it was surely time for him to stop. His body in theory couldn't handle it anymore, if he continue'd he could fall victim to something much more dangerous than just sleep. But! This was the spitting image of his will, of his spirit, of his determination. He refused to be mediocre. He refused to fail. This was his path, one that he would follow to the end.
  114. (Icarus Saiken)
  115.
  116. Katai would watch as Icarus dug his feet into the ground trying to give himself a better stance, one that is firm enough to brace for impact if he was hit... smart. It looked as if he was ready to deflect the orbs of ancestral energy until 'BOOM!' he was hit with the first nine energy bursts that were sent his way. Katai's face would scrunch as he tilted his head a little watching the impact. "Oops... I probably put a bit too much kick in the energy." He stated whilst watching, before hearing Kyoshiro respond with. "...You think..."
  117.
  118.
  119. ....SSSSSS....
  120.
  121.
  122. This was all that could be heard as Icarus was finally able to structure himself once more after being launched through the air by Katai's attack, it was quite the sight to see. The young boy was able to take a hit like that whilst standing afterwards. Not only that, but he actually caught one of the ten orbs Katai threw at him "impressive" Katai would think to himself just before noticing the state Icarus' clothes were in... his parents wouldn't be happy about that... oh well.
  123.
  124. From the looks of it the boy was drained from the intense training session. It was amazing how he still managed to stay on his feet... it looked as if he wasn't even conscious, just standing there with sheer will power. Katai would then feel a bit of a mana shift in his arms, looking down to see that they were shrinking to their regular size... he wasn't able to hold that form for too long, but for now it didn't matter, he needed to tend to Icarus at the moment and that's just what he did.
  125.
  126. Katai would walk over to his nephew and hug him, allowing Icarus to let his weight fall againts Katai if he needed. "Training is done for the day, you did well... extremely well, now you must rest. Come, let us go inside so I can tend to your wounds young one."
  127. (Katai)
  128.
  129. His blank eyes left no room for emotion or comments but his body explained the condition he was in without remourse. Releasing the tension of his body he would fall into his uncles arms before his eyes fell completely shut and drifted into a slumber. With little to no energy to stand his legs had surely given away in the moment aswell. His clothes were in tethers but the only thing keeping him standing was the feeling of not being able to do enough. He felt in competent and useless for not being able to achieve the given task. Primarilyi he would'nt have stopped until he conquered the said task but simply hearing the words "You did well" from his uncle set his mind at ease and allowed him to let go.
  130.
  131. Icarus, currently 5 years old was very kindered, determined spirit. There wasn't much that he was good at and even less that he was talented in. Whe his uncle appeared that day he may not have known, but in so many ways he was that boy's ray of hope to ever becoming anything. The vow he made upon meeting him was so strict that he'd have long prepared to be in a worst state in this. With his exhausted body resting his arms would be dangling as he slepted.
  132. (Icarus Saiken)
